I’m Indian, born and raised in Canada. My parents came here in 1994 and they made the best decision for our future. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Ironically due to the economic conditions and mass immigration, younger Canadians aren’t having children anymore due to it being hard enough to get by without any dependents. And spread the people out to the smaller communities that need workers instead of turning Toronto into whatever it is. Reduced taxes for your first property, but additional if you own several (a system similar to what Norway does). Reduced foreign ownership in our home real estate market (home should be for families, and not financial assets for international businesses).\n\nAnd like the video said some more darn infrastructure. In my childhood, I saw entire neighbourhoods being built in - timely fashions. Now it’s rare to see a single home under construction in my home city. As an Indian who was born and raised in Canada (immigrant parents from 1994), one of my favourite things about being a Canadian has been finding my own path as a citizen. I still love my culture but if I wanted to be in India, I would have just chose to move back. My parents came here to give me a better life and opportunity. I have fully embraced that. Some of the data shared is incorrect. For example you dont need 190k salary for mortgage. Even someone with an average income of 60k can own a home. Housing crisis is in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver the same like we see super expensive housing in Mumbai for example. \n\nPregnant lady does not have to wait for 30 weeks. That is completely incorrect. \n\nThe drug problem and the images that you share is from Vancouver which you mentioned already but that is not the case you see in Ontario, Alberta or any other province. Its like how Punjab has drug problem but it doesnt mean that Gujarat is the same when it comes to drugs. \n\nThe protests currently happening around deportation is also due to the fact that so many students from India were scammed by an Indian agent who sent them to Canada on fake admission letters. Hello, I live in BC, Canada. Canada is currently in a very rough state, and I can only hope things will improve soon. One of the biggest issues is the rampant, uncontrolled immigration. The government invited a flood of people into the country without having the necessary infrastructure in place—jobs, healthcare, housing—to support them. Now they're trying to cap immigration, hoping for a turnaround, but it's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.\n\nCanada's drug and crime policies are an absolute joke. I also have an Instagram account where many students ask me about studying in Canada. I always tell them that if they're doing well in India, they should stay there. The problem isn't just with India's education system—it's with the unrealistic mindset of people wanting to come to Canada.\n\nWe see students desperately going from one store to another, begging for jobs that simply aren't there. Some even sell their land or property, especially in Punjab, thinking they'll find a better life here. But right now, it's just not worth it. When I advise others, they think we're living the dream in Canada while trying to stop them from coming. I moved to Canada 12 years ago, and the country has changed beyond recognition.

In simple words, if you have an extremly seious condition then only you get an immediate treatement in Emergency. That is why the average rent(950$) is more than double nowadays (2000$) for the same house/apartment in compare to what was 5-6 years ago. \n\nHome Affordibility:- Average family(two person) income is $75k yearly right now. Average house price in Canada is $700k. The bank only approves mortgage upto 4x times your income. So that is 75 * 4 = $300k mortgage. So you need to make a downpayment of $400k if you want to buy your own home. \nBy the way, the minimum wage job package is only $32k per year. \n\nCrime and Chaos:- Canada has a catch and release policy for repeated criminals. Let's say somebody stole you car and got caught, he will be released on bail in 10 mins. The crime rate has increased 20% in last 5 years. \n\nTaxes:- Average family(two person) earning $75k pays 29% income tax to Goverment for these above mentioned wonderful servies. So in hand they only get around $53k, plus they pay 13% additoanl tax on groceries, clothers, insurance, absoulte everything.

Bro, I'm living in Vancouver from last year. Took 40 Lakhs of Loan for My MBA, chipped in money for fees. Till date I've got no benefit from Canada, except for bills and spending money on taxes and rent. This is damn true! - Work permits are getting queries, PR files are getting rejection. No job part time opportunities.\n\n1. Renting a room, especially for boys is the hardest if you are looking a private room. (my rent is 950$ for a private room, i struggle to pay this every month - without having a job)\n2. All banks want you to get enrolled as a student, then give credit cards, so you can easily buy things and pay them more and get you involved in the loop. \n3. I've applied in almost every job for part time, got rejection due to no available positions (Reasons : too many applicants)\n4. You are not gonna get a job in your field, unless you are into finance or IT with a found background.\n5. I DAILY SEE OUR PEOPLE ALSO GETTING ATTRACTED TO THIS CULTURE, SMOKING WEED ON A DAILY BASIS AND DOING MANY THINGS WHICH I FEEL STUDENTS MUST NOT DO. \n6. For my chest pain, they kept me waiting 4 hours in a line. Asked me that if i can stand and sit for a while then i must not worry. I was completely weak at that time, shivering and going through 101 fever.\n7. 75$ monthly for MSP insurance we pay as temporary residents -> still waiting for 4 hours to meet the doctor.\n8. Current situation of students is worse here, no opportunities for many students who come with hope, especially if they are coming for PGDM, or bachelors. Currently at this time only, MASTERS is given a priority.\n9. Don't think about applying for PR, unless you are filthy rich, unless you have exceptional skills in the industries which IRCC is looking for.\n10. Racism is at its peak, especially only on students** sad thing to say but yes this is the reality of international students.\n\n\nI hope all my brothers and sisters here come with a planning, strategy and best and worst case scenarios preparation. I am a Canadian and I have seen the sharp decline of Canada over the past decade which makes me very sad. According to many 'experts' they paint a dire picture of the nations future as the rate of inflation spirals out of control and we are buried beneath a mountain of debt. On the ground level, homelessness is an epidemic that the powers that should not be seem to want to sweep under the rug, while they race bait and spout off about woke ideology. They are more worried about transgender rights and castrating children while with anyone with eyes to see are witnessing the very breakdown of their society around them, people are dying in the streets from fentanyl overdose. My wife volunteered at our old church which catored to the homeless and I have known many that are no longer with us, nobody wants to acknowledge it because they do not want to face the fact that they are fellow human beings. In the end no one is better than any one else, it is all vanity.?\nIt would seem like we are run by lunatics with severe cognitive dissonance by the fact that we have mass immigration while are own \npopulation is suffering, I admit that mental health and addictions are potent variables that constitute the crisis, I am not niave to those facts. In all fairness to doctors and nurses trained in canada there is a set limit each school can have and its not a high number. In BX almost every single person you see here working are indian i cant even gfet a job as most will now only hire indians. Toronto born and raised and a 4th generation Canadian, I loved Toronto so much! As a boy, I was lucky enough to live in a large house at Yonge and St. Clair. Early on we didnt even have to lock the doors or lock up our bikes. We had Beckers corner stores and played tag and baseball down on Summerhill Ave. Fast forward several decades and I have been living in small town USA. By no means is this country even close to perfect but the town I live in is safe, clean and not nearly as populated as Toronto. I am heading back there for a visit and look forward to having my mind blown at the volume of humans that I will see there. I loved the diversity and the amazing food but the housing shortage and ridiculous prices for rent/housing make it next to impossible for even an income earner of my stature want to go back. I cant afford to buy a house there and I make pretty good money. I will love to visit and it is where I am from but I dont see myself moving back there. That makes me sad. Thank you for the video!

As a punjabi Canadian who's parents came here over 50 years ago. Watching international students abuse things like food banks makes my blood boil beyond belief. One of the things I've always loved most about being Canadian is our reputation for being kind, caring, polite and helpful.\n\nIndia has a very different mindset, it's much more cutthroat and people are taught to find and abuse any and every advantage they can. When I was younger it was always really fun watching new families come here because the difference in mindset was so refreshing to them and it wasn't uncommon for them to want to very enthusiastically be a part of it.\n\nNow I see families come from India and they seem almost offended by the idea of wanting to contribute or help improve the communities and areas they live in. In the past they could see for themselves that mindset made things better for everyone, but because there's so much immigration now, they tend to move into areas where other new immigrants are also living and getting exploited by other slightly less recent immigrants. That cutthroat mentality is all they see and feel, everyone is looking to get something from them and give nothing back. So they do the same, and attempts to show them the things I love most about Canadians is perceived as just another hustle trying to take advantage of them.\n\nNobody is happy with this, nobody wins.

If you want to see what mass immigration from one culture can do, just look at Bramladesh, aka. Brampton. You want a drivers license, no problem, $300 and you pass. Truck drivers license, $800. Mortgage, bribe the broker/underwriter 1% of the mortgage amount and you can easily get one from a big bank even if you don't actually qualify. Rental housing, 2 to 4 students per bedroom, assuming they can get housing at all. Multiple people using the same health card. Multiple workers using the same ID. Three drivers per transport truck, one legal and two illegal so it can be operated 24 hrs a day. Just the tip of the iceberg as I'm certain there are many more scams/loopholes being utilized than I'm aware of. Many Indians are hard working, just trying to make a better life for themselves and their families, live in horrid conditions until they can afford better. On an individual basis I don't blame them, but when you import EN MASS, and they all live together in the same area, then the culture of that area changes to the one they are coming from.

Am I missing something here, Im not sure about open door anything, if you want a job you need to have work permit, if you are old and not eligible for working/holiday visa you need a visitor visa and look for an LMIA approved job ONLY, while already Canada, jobless, as a visitor, IF you get the offer its only then you can apply for work permit and after you got it then they hire you. is that how it usually goes? Or you have tens of thousands of dolars for a college you get study permit that enables you to work too. So, I dont see how is immigration to Canada easy and I have absolutely no clue how Indians and rest of the gang do it in such large numbers. Do they all just come on visitor visa and hope for the best? what about accommodation, money?

Feds should force the universities to make the cost for international students the same as domestic ones and see how many they want to bring over.
