Canada' more open immigration system is a great bonus for them relative to the US that being said they can't capitalize on it if they don't build the housing and transportation access to support the newcomers. New housing units are trailing incoming immigrants by a lot.

There are some States I would consider moving to as a Canadian but I still think Canada is one of the best places to live. Less violence, stricter gun laws, more open to different sexual orientations, diverse population, and free (or almost free) education and health care for all. Canada has its problems and despite it being so bloody cold here, I still choose to live here.

Why do these refugees take it for granted that Canada is somehow responsible for their well being once they claim to be refugees, Canaca already has a robust refugee benefits for those who are persecuted in their home country. But, to think Canada should welcome them with open arms and open all doors for them to live comfortably they should look at ordinary struggling canadians and lower their expectation.

Canada should just go with open palms to America and ask to become the 51st state a merger like this would benefit both countries

Students on average make 1500$ per week tax and cash (no need to mention about cash to even your closed ones) ; means students can afford everything in Australia.\n2. On work Visa: you get more opportunities for professional jobs but people prefer odd jobs where money is so good i.e security, uber taxi etc.\n3. Employer insurance: your employer pays 10% of your pay as superannuation funds and life insurance as well. (In canada, employer deduct it from your own pay i.e. EI)\n4. Sydney night life has no comparison, there are so many suburbs, areas, restaurants that are open till 1am.\n5. Sydney city is open till 3am from friday to sunday.\n6. Many beaches to explore.\nAustralian students have better life styles than PRs of Canada.\n7. Job opportunities are unlimited in sydneyz\nOverall there is no comparison of Canada and Australia . \nMay be i missed many points but tried to mention it here because they are misleading those who are confused between Aus and Canada.

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. Guns and gun laws in Canada are awesome. Conceal or open carry is a bizarre concept. Canada has an excellent school/curriculum system. Canada's political system is better. Canada's policing system is better. Canada's multiculturalism is fun. Canada's environment is beautiful. Canada's lower population, while not great for some reasons is great for other reasons. Canada is opening doors to all these new immigrants but it's also kicking out own citizens, because of unable to find jobs that you like no matter that you are highly educated or afford the living expenses. If you are over 50 you will never get a professional job and if you are a recent graduate, even if you study and born in Canada, you can't get a job either because no experience. This is Ontario, this is our home country Canada.

There was a time I would have. My father and Grandfather grew up in New York city as children and spoke highly of the States. Since 2016 I would seriously not consider living there. The gun violence that occurs their has gotten to the point that it has to be especially eggregious before it makes the news. The cavalier attitude towards guns and gun saftey is disturbing even from your politicians. it would be a recipe for loosing your privalege to own a firearm in Canada if you did what many of us see americans do with their guns. Open carry. Not allowed. Concealed carry. Not allowed. There are courses you need to take and pass on firearm saftey and gun use here, before you are given the privaledge of owning a firearm. Those firearms need to be stored properly or carried in cases at all times when not in use \n\nThat being said I have done those courses and I own guns. Rifles to be precise and a shot gun I use for hunting food. Pistols are not easy to get here and you can only use them on a range. The only people legally carrying pistols in public are the police.\n\nHealthcare is fine if you are young and healthy, with a job. If i showed up at 53 with a handfull of pre-existing conditions, I would be in bad shape.\n\nYour record on lgbtq+ and a woman's right to bodily autonomy is back slipping to the 1950's. I appreciate that you are open to hearing these comments- as hard as that might be. Canadians do love our US next door neighbours- most of the US is lovely, most people are good, yes good opportunities exist there. BUT, we have that here in Canada too. So the tipping points about female bodily autonomy, never really worrying about our children’s school safety, EVERYONE being able to get good healthcare (no insurance required), and the more inclusive attitude to people of different sexual orientation/cultures/race makes this country the better option, in my opinion.

First time that I watched your channel - and I commend your candor and your openness. I lived in Canada in the Niagara peninsula and the Greater Toronto Area from 1953 to 1989. Then in 1990, I had a job opportunity to work for a Michigan base company that allowed me much global business travel. I could have moved to Michigan with my wife and two sons however I decided that my residence would still be in Canada on the Windsor side of the Detroit river. I commute every working day across the border and I am glad that I did in fact remain a resident of Canada. I do have a green card still to this day in 2023 as I continue to work for the same company. I can tell you that the for the first few months in 1990, every time that I would cross the border to go back home, I felt a sense of ease and contentment to be back in Canada. I do like the USA but I prefer living in Canada.

Each countries have their pros and cons. Yes guns and religions are a big turn off but in Canada we're not as free as in USA. \nHere, in Canada, i can't defend myself or my home, i have to way for the police to show up (and it take enough time for the cops to find a corps) if i do and do arm or kill the offenderl, i end up in jail which leaves Canadians with 2 choices. I would not consider moving to the states for any reason, but my reason at this point is that I’m terminally ill and disabled and I can’t even get travel insurance to be able to visit my family there. My mother’s family are all Americans. I had a lot of fun visiting them in my late teens, back in the early 90’s but now I wouldn’t even drive across the border to go shopping. Well, I do go across the border to Alaska, because that’s just an hour away, but Alaska is very different from the continental United States. And I only go to Skagway for the afternoon to get fish and chips. I welcome Americans to Canada with open arms, but I have zero desire to ever live or visit there. One at a time, on my terms, in my country, Americans are great, but your nation is falling apart at the seams. I don’t feel safe there at all.

Well, as a Canadian, I guess i'll pitch in.\nWould I move to the US? The short answer is no. But I will explain more in detail.\n\nFirst, I do not see any advantages to the US compared to Canada. Americams often tout their country as the beacon of freedom and the land of opportunities, but I don't feel that Canada is so different there. We're actually higher on the world freedom index, and its not like our economy was in shambles and everyone dirt poor... We pay more taxes, fine, but we also get more services in return, and that last part has the advantage to remove a big layer of worry. Like, for healthcare, I don't have to worry if i'm covered by insurance or not, or if the insurance carrier will drop me on some technicality. I'm a citizen. All the basic needs are covered; no questions asked (and the healthcare quality is not half bad. We just prioritize urgent cases over non-urgent; so if you go to the hospital for something non-urgent, you will wait, and more urgent cases will pass before you. Annoying when it happens, but I understand and agree with that in the end)\n\nSecond, I do see a lot of disadvantages. All the points raised in the video are valid, from the private-sector healthcare system, the gun control laws (or lack thereof), the social policies and legislation in some states; they don't agree with me.\n\nI think it comes down to some specific social and cultural ideas that are prevalent or at least present in a substantial manner in the american society. Bear in mind that I am generalizing here, not every american believes these points, but many do. I'm talking about ego, nationalism/patriotism, secularism etc.\nI feel that the US often has a really overinflated vision of itself. Like, the idea that America is the best. At everything. Originally from a border town, NOPE! Your allowed open carry guns while drinking....never a good idea. The gun violence is a big one. We do have a huge hunting and fishing culture and even though some form of violence maybe on the rise in Canada...I still don't lock my door often unless going for an extended diner / movie type night and we have the kids with us ( both teens ), encountering guns on the street is rare here still, your more likely to encounter knives. My wife carries a pocket knife in her purse it's just handy for all types of things when your out. She' grew up hunting and fishing for her it's a tool not a weapon. And yes the extremes ARE BATSHIT CRAZY!!! Terrifying, not saying we're perfect but seriously, my wife had fond memories of camping stateside with her grandparents , she won't visit or crossborder shop too violent and too extreme to take the chance.

Canada's problems could be fixed without a major overhaul of society. \n1. Repeal the Carbon Tax. It's really a useless tax, when you are already forcing society to change through policy, you don't need to punish the people any more than that \n2. 10% reduction in federal tax rates \n3. Get a Canadian style Shark Tank with some federal money involved as a public/private partnership to boost Canadian entrepreneurship. \n4. 2 year moratorium on onerous enviornmental and permit restrictions that are blocking new housing construction. Provide incentives and rewards to developers of starter home communities \n5. Provide provinces with financial incentives to open private Urgent Care clinics in every province that will offer on demand urgent care to anyone who walks through the door without appointment \n6. Ban registered Liberals from ever holding public office for the rest of their lives

For me, I live in Vancouver, but when I'm done college, I'm hoping to find a job in Seattle and immigrate there. They recently opened up a Pokemon HQ there, Nintendo's hiring, Seattle's the HQ of Bungie, the maker of the Destiny games and much more! I feel like it's easier to find a job in the US than in Canada. In fact, my college instructor said so. There's more jobs there than in this small town. I'm heading towards SFU and I'm hoping to land a few coops, including one in Seattle to see if I like it there. And no, I do not care about healthcare, mass shootings or politics. The chances of you randomly being shot is about the same as getting ran over by a car. For healthcare, it's usually provided by your employer. But otherwise, you can buy it yourself as there's many options to choose from. Some of them are really good, but people are just overgeneralizing everything. My hope is that employment will eventually lead to permanent residency. Then, I can go buy a house in Texas, Florida or Colorado where it's much cheaper than Vancouver

We are still the most welcoming country in the world. We are very open minded and welcoming people. When I lived abroad, I adapted to their culture and did not impose my own. I don't know if this is all true... I have been all over Canada province's and always treated like a celebrity, opening doors, compliments, and hospitality, especially in Edmonton, where I spent over a week at the biggest mall in the world. I know they don't like Asians with the biggest complaints of them taking over buying up all the land. I have tons of Canadian friends who have never treated me badly but respectfully.

Unless you plan to live in a very impoverished, run-down, and dangerous area. In a “good” suburb, not great, you’re looking at $686K - $749K. Most are now selling between $812K - $1M. I’m sorry my friend, those stats are a mirage. They blend in cheap apartments in Edmonton into those stats. For petroleum engineering, congrats for finishing those studies, but it’s been a long-standing political battle in Canada; Albert vs. Ontario on this issue. The current liberal government is openly trying to destroy the industry you’re in and you will struggle immensely to find work.

If this video wasn't about Canada you could very well believe that this video was about Australia. We are pretty much the same. There are too many selfish idiots in this country who want to get rich quick through property investing. As a result of this everyone is mortgaged up to their eyeballs in debt. People think that owning investment properties means you're some sort of god. If we didn't have any resources our entire economy would be focussed on building homes. The thing is, the houses that builders build in this country are terrible. They don't insulate well, the materials used are crap, the workmanship is poor. People on average now take out mortgages 6-7x their income. To keep property booming we open the floodgates for immigrants. The societal landscape of our country is changing for the worse. Looking around Melbourne and Sydney, most people are either Chinese or Indian now. These people run away from their countries (which they think are crap compared to the West) and then they buy houses here resulting in people born in Australia losing out.\n\nThe entire thing is a god damn ponzi scheme.

Remember in the 1970s and 1980 when Canada was respectful of all people. Women were respected int he workplace and treated as they should be in public. We opened doors for women, always said please and thank you. I always wondered why our prime minister said we were a racist nation. Why in the last 12 years has our standard living been decreasing along with all the services we once had, that our country could once afford. I think we are witnessing the fall of Canada. big problem with the housing is also trudeau taking in so many immigrants and refugees before having enough available housing for everybody. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

I would add that because of the lack of investment in businesses and an open immigration policy while over-prioritizing Canadian only experience there is a huge underemployment problem especially amongst highly skilled and experienced immigrants who would mainly wait to get the Canadian passport and move down south to the US where evaluations of international experience is more objective. Lots of low to medium skilled jobs. Dear Canada, I say this as an immigrant, if you don’t have enough high skilled jobs don’t open your borders or make it clear you want low skilled immigrants. That said, Canada is great country with minimal crime and is fairly equal. Problem is, it’s hard to get out of the rat race here.

The healthcare system in Canada is SO BROKEN! In Nova Scotia, hospitals are open during bankers hours and staffed by EMTs on the weekend. During Covid restrictions, the provincial ambulance services were discontinued and people died because they didn't get help in time. It can take up to three years in NS to get a primary care provider.

In Canada everyone is greedy. Just go and rent commercial land for business then you will know how expensive is the rent. I am not talking about ghosts cities where only old people are living. To open a business you need thriving population which is in big cities. Just look in the morning after 5 a.m. all the major highways are full of vehicles going towards Toronto. Because all the big businesses are there as well as their head office.

I doubt Canada is a stable government, freely elected and least corrupt countries is the world. You might want to consider the least corrupt counties, as Christine Freeland has publicly stated the did not like what they saw, they turned off the Canadian economy when they liked what they saw, they turned it back on. Also the freely elected part, as it is known by many the the CCP helped re-elect the Liberals for a few elections, starting in 2015, I have to admit that they helped them become only a minority elected country but the NDP made them a majority. As far as a stable government, I have heard the Justin Trudeau for the first time as Prime Minister of Canada, wears a bullet proof vest and has his protection team openly carry aggressive weapons to protect him. Just a reminder. an average Canadian cannot use lethal weapons to defend themselves even in a life-threatening circumstance. Just suggesting you might want to re-evaluate your description of Canada.

I’m happy I watched this because I have been wondering about this depression wave that is in this country if I was the only one feeling it. All these points are valid. Don’t get me wrong canada is a beautiful place and give you access to learning and living with many different cultures which one of the things I love. But all these points these ladies stated just prove that I wasn’t just overthinking. Sometimes this place feels like an open prison tbh, specially Quebec which is the highest taxed province. It’s literally a life of work, pay your bills, feed yourself and work again. 2weeks vacation in a year of work, with 8 off days a month, isn’t enough for the brain and well being of someone. One find themselves doing everything under pressure because of the trauma that many jobs have created. People will walk under a storm, rain, thunder, you name it! just so they can earn that 130 a day.(using the minimum wage,). The gouvernement does it best to put all these programs in place, but no one want to always feel like your life is being controlled because you need a 1000$ check every month. People get tired of this dependency as well. The whole is thing is just depressing ?

It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Why hasn't liberal Canada opened it's borders to any illegal who wants to cross?

Every single reason you mentioned about why you left Vancouver (Canada) is valid. My husband and I left Vancouver a couple of years ago and have been living in Spain since then. It's been an eye opener. The Covid situation was especially bad and I hate to see how politicians have divided Canada. Under Trudeau, Canada has become a tyrannical state. I am not sure if there will be any hope for change since most Canadians watch CBC and have been brainwashed to believe he has done great for the country.
