I really don't see why this is controversial. You HAVE to moderate immigration regardless of your own political leaning, and to do this you need to deport anyone who slips through the cracks. Make immigrating legally take less time and be less complicated, this is how you encourage legal immigration while also discouraging illegal immigration.

it’s so stupid how all this fear mongering has taken place, it’s easier to make someone hate than it is to make someone care. they contribute $96.7b to the economy through taxes and are less likely to both use health services and to commit crimes than US born citizens

Y’all really gotta edit this to say 1798 because for clarity this is an old as hell law and calling it the 1978 one makes it sound far less cruel and unusual than it really is 4:59

And this is what we call, a ladder puller. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. She seems to be fully aware that it can be a difficult process, and I personally have seen that it’s not exactly a fair one either. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

The Biden administration deported more undocumented immigrants in 2 years than Trump deported in 4 years.\n\nThey did it without hate speech, without divisive hate, without lies, propaganda, and ignorant rhetoric. They did it without separating families, without inhumane conditions, and promoting an environment of fear. They did it without breaking any US laws, without breaking international laws, and without violating the Geneva Convention. They did it without violating the rights of asylum seekers.\n\nThey did it without forcing a government shutdown, declaring a fake national emergency, and using it to steal $15 billion from the defense/military budget for a wall Mexico didn’t pay for, to be built when a wall already stood. $15 billion for 54 new miles of fencing? What’s the art of THAT deal? That money, OUR money, the military’s money, could have hired a bunch of new border patrol agents, and implemented a TON of technology, drones, independent monitoring centers, flood lights, high quality cameras….but nope. We got more of the same sh¡t we’ve had for 30 years. Walls. If walls work so well, then why doesn’t the wall that already exists keep people out? Fu€|<ing stupid use of our money. I worked at the southern border for 10+ years. I once watched someone drive a truck over a border wall with two thick boards on each side, which they just kept there for next time. It took less than 5 minutes. Because walls aren’t magical.\n\nTrump plans to terminate programs like birthright citizenship, DACA, migrant visas, green cards, military service….and he’s planning to deport people who were born here, have citizenship, but their parents weren’t citizens at the time, so he’s deporting them. IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE. But neither does Trump. Who, BTW married TWO IMMIGRANTS who were undocumented at the time. 4 of his 5 kids were born to an immigrant. Melania’s parents are here through “chain migration.” But, he’s taking that away now, too. JD Vance’s wife is of Indian descent. These are the 2 men who want to kick out immigrants. Undocumented immigrants contributed nearly $100 billion to the economy & social security in 2022 alone. They pay the same sales taxes we do. But they don’t have access to the social programs they’re paying into & they don’t get tax returns. WE KEEP THEM. But sure, let’s kick them all out. Any ONE of trump’s plans is going to cripple our economy anyway. \n\nThings are going to get really, really bad, guys.

When the Nazis started mass deportations they started with Jewish people and eventually they moved to those whose families had converted to Christianity, they didn’t care so this lady better remember that when Trump decides to deport Latinos who had been in the USA less than 50 years green card or not, it is not her status that is the problem but the colour of your skin, your language and the fact that (regardless what you told yourself) you are not one of them
|

This woman and Latinos like here are delusional. For MAGA, it is not really about how they got here, right or wrong, it is simply about “numbers”. They don’t understand that Donald Trump. Steven Miller, Elon Musk, and MAGA, wants to see LESS PEOPLE WHO LOOKS LIKE HER ! \n\nTHEY WANT YOU “GONE” !

Canada is often perceived as a land of opportunity and comfort, but my personal experience told a different story. After living there for over a decade, I made the difficult decision to leave for several reasons, each of which compounded my struggles and ultimately led me to seek a better quality of life elsewhere.\n\nThe Incident That Sparked the Change\nIn 2017, I was attacked in Toronto, leaving me with a broken nose. It was a traumatic experience, but the frustration didn't end there. When I reached out to my doctor to fix the injury, I was placed on a waitlist. For years, I followed up, hoping for progress, but by 2023, I still hadn’t received a call for the surgery. Each time, I was told the same thing: a shortage of doctors meant they couldn’t help. This highlighted a stark reality of the Canadian healthcare system—while it is publicly funded, it is often overwhelmed, leaving people waiting for years for essential treatments.\n\nThe Harsh Reality of Living Costs\nLiving in Canada became increasingly unsustainable for my family and me. Despite working hard and earning less than $100,000 annually, the cost of living pushed us into a debt of over $70,000. The financial strain was immense, forcing us to sell our home just to clear the loan. Even with this sacrifice, our lifestyle remained stagnant. We hadn’t taken a vacation in ten years because there was simply no room in the budget. Owning a home or enjoying basic luxuries felt like an unattainable dream, and I realized that continuing in this cycle was not a viable option.\n\nChallenging Weather Conditions\nCanada’s harsh weather was another factor that wore us down over time. The long, freezing winters and short, unpredictable summers made it difficult to enjoy outdoor life or maintain a consistent routine. The mental toll of enduring such extreme weather year after year contributed to the decision to seek a more temperate and enjoyable environment.\n\nA Need for Change\nAfter ten years of struggle, it became clear that the current conditions in Canada were not conducive to a fulfilling life. The combination of healthcare delays, skyrocketing living costs, financial stress, and unforgiving weather made me question the sacrifices I was making. Life is short, and the realization that there are other places in the world with better systems and opportunities prompted me to take action.\n\nWhile Canada has its merits, it’s important for people to reassess their priorities and make decisions that align with their well-being. For me, leaving was a step toward reclaiming my life and creating a future where I could thrive, rather than just survive.

The world is a lie people hate you when you are not white not in this particular situation but it is pretty obvious that he will be harresed more than a white delivery man so it is what it is and the biggest lie is when people in this part of the world says we treat everyone equal \nAs far as my experience goes the darker you are The less human you are ? come to india and you will get everything for free complete different world doesn’t matter if you are white or Chinese or a black man from Africa

I am Mexican, I went to College and worked legally in the US, and I am living in Mexico right now. I am totally against illegal immigration, but what I oppossed the most is the racism between Latinos. I can tell you that most of the people who treated me the worst were my own people. Latinos don't like other Latinos there and even less illegal immigrants, even if they were once illegal, 'cause they are not gonna take away what was so hard for them to get !! so so sad, I guess they are ashamed of where they come ???? and that's a big reason why they voted for Trump!!

The whole network African diaspora cannot be taken seriously. Even Africans in Africa bear a share of the responsibility; they were not innocent in the transatlantic slave trade but rather acted as accomplices by selling their people into slavery. Those African traitors have harboured resentment toward Haitians, likely because Haitian warriors put an end to the nonsensical enslavement propagated by both European and African participants. Ironically, Black Americans and others often overlook the lesson of unity taught by Haitian liberators. Haiti sacrificed greatly, aiming to protect humanity, yet the world turned its back, leaving Haiti to bear the consequences of Western exploitation and punishment itself. All Haiti has ever sought was to establish fair business relations, yet, understandably, Western countries may be reluctant. However, for Black people, Hispanics, Africans, and other marginalized groups—what is your excuse? The continued grievances about mistreatment under white supremacy ring hollow when we see a lack of solidarity among themselves. Perhaps, in that light, some would argue that the hardships from white supremacy are no less than deserved. Long live the Haitian revolution of 1804, a date of humanity’s liberation.

This dude is very slick but obviously he’s a raving bigot surreptitiously spreading his hate as reasonable discourse. Why not mention the fact that Canadian white birthrate is around 1.2 children per woman currently and we used to have about seven working people to every retired one and now we are down to less than three working people per every retired person in Canada.
\n
\nWe need these immigrants because of our disastrous demographics; why do you think white supremacists in America want to take away birth control? They know they need more white children if they are going to get rid of 10 to 20 million immigrants. Every white Canadian women needs to start having five children or we need all these immigrants.

If they genuinely want to stop illegal immigration, why not make life difficult for them, instead going nuts on arresting and deportation that cost a lot, maybe stop illegals to get a job, renting a room, buying a car, getting mortgage, having driving licenses would be more effective and would cost way less.

What kind of a human being is this? Your own very family? What's this hatred all about? That heart must be really dark indeed! People circumstances are DIFFERENT. Not everyone will have the luxury, the time, the money, the health etc to stand hours on a line and wait (for GOD knows when or afford to pay) in order to come in legally. Are we not all human beings? There ought to be a place for empathy, mercy, understanding and tolerance for the weak and less misfortune in life. I'm deeply sadden by the old woman's words.

Less than 4% of the popular vote differential is NOT a mandate, it’s a solid win, but not a mandate. \nPopular vote differentials:\n2020 Biden 4.45%\n2008 Obama 7.27%\n1996 Clinton 8.51%\n1984 Reagan 18.21%\n\nThere are slim majorities in both houses, also NOT a mandate. \n\nThe R are trying to convince us it’s a mandate to pave the way to get their way.

The level of gun violence in the US is absolutely terrifying! Canada has much less gun violence and much better gun control laws.\nDespite that however, gun violence here is on the rise, people are able to get illegal firearms here, and just where do you suppose the vast majority of those illegal firearms come from? ?

They told you decades ago they do not have the staff available to do that due to cut back decades ago, so ooooh. Staff shortages: government saving money spent on program implementation, corporations saving money they pay to lower level employees, less people they pay any , if any, benefits to.

First God forgive for talking like that and probably ( I hope) she doesn’t mean it .\nShe doesn’t realize ( how?) that rules to get citizenship when she came were probably ( very likely) different than now. \nAt some point 80s you just needed to stay in the country five years to get the residence.\nNow is virtually impossible less you met a USA citizen and fall in love, etc etc but otherwise , by one self is very hard .\nThe way this woman is talking is too harsh with family that’s been in USA for decades . \nShe hates all of them? She sounds miserable. \nShe is not the only one like that so is that only politics?\n\nDoes she know how long may take so they can apply again and IF they give it the visa , probably not.\nThis woman really sounds very very bitter.

And this is the “family values” administration. Couldn’t give a fuck less about her hard working family who came here for a better life and added value to our country. Absolutely disgusting!!\n\nI’m a New Yorker and a Sephardic Jew (Sephardic Jews are Spanish Jews). You couldn’t pay me to vote for Trump to do anything but spend the rest of his miserable existence in prison, where he belongs!! You have to have some seriously severe mental illness to support that scumbag! You’re even sicker if you’re a woman who voted for someone to take away your rights and have complete control over your body and your health!!! Say what you want about NYC, but at least here us women have complete control over our bodies!!!

I am a U.S. born Mexican-American. This woman disgusts me. My father was a decorated WWII veteran. He, too, was a U.S. born citizen, as well as my mother. We never had much. One thing they both taught me was to help people who had less than we did. I look mexican, yet when I open my mouth, I don't have the accent my parents had. I have been targeted by random people just minding my business running errands. I have on occasion stuck up for my fellow Hispanic when I have seen them ignored and mistreated. What the f is wrong with this person. Was she not taught anything about empathy and compassion? Isn't she at risk of being deported? The green card can easily be taken away. Honey, they don't want us here. Yes, I include myself in that. This woman is as racist as any skin head. They will turn on her in a second. What a fool. Even Mexico doesn't deserve for this woman to be tossed back to them.
|

She waited in line for a green card???? I don't believe her story--it takes months to years to get citizenship, much less a green card! Personally, I think she married an American white man, and got in that way.

Really asinine that she says she is ‘going to’ with no reference to the destination. I have an intelligence, and that intelligence tells me she is not saying because it is a place with less freedom, more poverty, a higher crime rate, or all of these, and she prefers not to look stupid.

The Trump administrations immigration policy is actually less strict than Australia's. Who are not having to do mass deportations because their President did not encourage millions of people to just walk into the country. Blame Joe Biden and his corrupt media for these deportations, not the people having to do them. It should have never come to this.
|
| 2024-11-10 | 0 |
She said 14 million entered on Biden's watch and should be deported. That is stupid because there are less the 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States now. Being stupid is probably one of the saddest things a person can be and today it is the norm.

Trump is a big fat bag of flatulence. \nHe's an expert at talking out his ass, and his supporters are dumb enough to believe him. \nBut we're here with a clown representing America because people didn't vote. \nIn 2020, Trump got 74,223,975 votes.\nBiden got 81,283,501.\n7+ million more than Trump. \nIn 2024, Trump got 73,494,503 votes, 729,472 less than he got 4 years ago.\nIn 2024, Harris got 69,174,894 votes, 4,289,607 less than Trump, and 12,108,605 less than Biden got 4 years ago. \nAmerican voters are why we're stuck with a narcissistic sociopathic liar and sex offender for president. \n12 million Americans, to be specific, who chose not to vote.\nTrump is a scam artist. \nHow many billions will Trump, and his family of grifters, steal from America? \nHow many asinine statements will Trump make? \nAnd how many rounds of golf is the flatulence king play on our dime? \nLast time it cost Americans $145 million. \nDo you think fatty ? can break his record? \nI bet he'll try.

Got to love how the right wins and immediately claim they have a mandate with less than half the country agreeing, but the Democrats never use their elections as mandates. Then they wonder why so many in the left didn’t go out to vote. Democrats don’t fight and don’t know how to use their power. Now we are at the mercy of the unhinged.

Very very soon the canada govt will roll it back. Its economy is due to Indians, indian students and other workers. Canadians are lazy people who dont study hard, dont make many docs or engg or other professionals and are enjoying social security. They are less in number, that's why the country needs people from the outside
|
| 2024-11-10 | 0 |
People really dont study history. A notable example of mass deportation impacting the economy is the mass repatriation of Mexican immigrants during the Great Depression in the 1930s. The U.S. government deported or encouraged the departure of hundreds of thousands of Mexican immigrants (many of whom were legally present and even U.S. citizens). This policy was partly driven by the belief that these individuals were taking jobs that could go to American citizens during a time of economic hardship.\n\nEconomic Impact in the 1930s:\n\n1. Labor Shortages: The sudden reduction in the Mexican labor force left many industries, especially agriculture and infrastructure, with labor shortages. Mexican workers had been essential to industries like farming, railroads, and manufacturing, where they took on physically demanding jobs that other workers were less willing to perform. As a result, productivity in these sectors declined.

Please do,,,Texas the biggest whiner about illegals economy would fall apart without them. Their own AG in 2021 put a report that a minimum of 12% of their work force(1.2M people )are 100% known to be illegal. Tx has individual state laws for it being a crime to hire illegals, they never enforce it b/c the business owners that donate to them would have a fit. They also have a law about it being a crime to rent to illegals, again not enforced b/c their supporters would be upset losing rental income. Tx loves illegals, their economy was built on it for decades, they just want a certain amount they can exploit. Tx has a 7.25 min wage for a reason and illegals may get paid even less than that b/c they have no recourse. Other states that love to complain about them, while loving to exploit them. 19 red states have 7.25 min wage, they don't want to pay US workers a real wage so they use illegals.

Even if a foreigner gives birth in Japan, if they are not married to a Japanese person, their child will not receive Japanese citizenship. If the foreign mother of the child reports the birth to the government office of their country in Japan, then that child can receive the mother's citizenship.\n\nThey should do this in the USA. It’s less incentive for illegals to come here in droves to leech off the system.
