What is needed to teach escape velocity is firstly, courage. Secondly, you need insurance coverage. You can be ruined just by going for a day trip from Canada to USA if you would have a car accident or a heart attack while abroad. This is very serious. Secondly, once you are old, living abroad might turn out to be impossible just because of health care coverage. The book millionaire expat ( everybody should read it) gives you an insight of where you can retire and for how much.

An alternative might be to stay and make a difference as Canada needs intelligent people like yourself to be the solution. On the other hand at 33 I understand that you can't wait for things to change as it is a turning point in your life. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours.

No need to demonize Canada like this,it might not be the perfect place to be and yes this crisis exists,But there are people who work their way through the system, Canada presents a great opportunity for a far richer lifestyle than in India,Of course there are a few downsides but not everything.I have been living in this country for the past 5 years and there is a huge potential in this country.Just need to be careful,And not everyone in Canada is injecting or investing drugs,Buying a house is expensive,That doesn't mean people live on the streets,They rent out.Due to sudden influx of immigrants and refugees there is a housing and job issue,But eventually due to measures in place this will be revolved Im sure Canada will bounce back and create more opportunities and affordable housing in the coming years

It is interesting how much I've heard this from Canadians in recent years. Growing up in America's dull, dingy, squalid Rust Belt it was always a thrill to visit cities like Toronto and Montreal. The strip of water separating Windsor (itself not exactly Paris) from Detroit might be starkest line between two countries this side of the Korean Demilitarized Zone. But I was only ever a tourist in Canada and perhaps it's true about the grass always being greener. Best of luck in your new home.

Saw this coming years ago, sold everything and moved to Thailand. After 13 years I'm still here. Just came back from a 3 month stay there. Covid did so much damage to the place economically, socially and politically. I had fun, but no plans to return to the US to live. I'm also following the crazy madness that is happening in Canada. My neighbor here is from Canada as is a few other friends. I like their tax situation much better than mine. Anyway. Life is good here, easy to travel around SEA, cheap flights, affordable hotels and good food. Enjoy your journey where ever you go. I'm going to guess you might be moving to Europe, possibly Eastern Europe?

Think twice about this decision .. things are getting bad world wide in all western nations .. you might be better to stay in Canada where you have friends family for a support group which you might need

This might be a dumb question but why do they create strict visa policies by having criteria of high bank statements, etc just to ensure that they don't end up staying illegally or use social benefits, while at the same time, take the people who didn't even come here legally?

I understand you dont want to wait to tell people where you are hoping to move to until its official, but i think you should have said where this ideal location is for you and your business in this video because it might have helped other people watching who are in a similar situation to you where they have a small buisness and are struggling in canada. It would be unfortunate for those people to have to wait months to kearn of the conclusions to your research when knowing now vould possibly save them from catastrophic consequences as the standard of living seems to be rapidly declining in canada.

Canada's GDP per capita has been decreasing for quite a while now. The only thing keeping Canada's GDP up is the very high immigration. Without it, Canada would be in a recession right now. This is why, even though the stock market might show growth, most Canadians (and Americans) don't feel it -- because the economy isn't doing great for most people in reality. At least there is some solace in the fact that, once the recession really hits, there is bound to be a recovery.

Europe and North America. But Canada isn’t as bad as many places. But then again, I’m not a quitter. The best way to survive is getting a good education and a stable and high in demand career. Hi! I'm an American with the 'dream' of immigrating to Canada for many years. Got permanent residency and am working in Montreal for the summer to try it out and.... really shocked about the high taxes vs. the quality of the roads for example :/ What social benefits are Canadians really getting? Although the pace of life and culture is nice, it is hard to make less money here as a teacher than I could be in the US, and with some bullsh*t to put up with (pardon my language). And although I feel safe here, I can't believe how car thefts are so brazen and common. I might just become a seasonal visitor after all.

I wish you all the luck for wherever you are planning on moving. It is quite sad when home no longer feels like home anymore, how it changes into something you do not recognize or feel safe at anymore. You might consider China since their real estate market is going further down. Hopefully, China will allow foreigners to buy, own and live in the property they buy as their economy is still the top in the world.

As a Canadian I have to agree with much of what you said but it mostly applies to the big cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal where most immigrants like to move. One is more likely to find sociable people and loser housing prices in smaller communities on the Prairies, East Coast and Northern Territories but of course the weather might be more severe and the employment opportunities not as numerous although there may not be as much competition for them either.

Unless there is at least 30% crash in real estate it will continue to be a bitter struggle. Work for 15 hours daily for what, to live in 500 sq feet that you might own one day. No thanks.

I think Manitoba is the cheapest place to live. Atlantic Canada, houses might sound cheap but most of them very old. To get job also is difficult. More tax and less per hour salary in New Brunswick. But good only for seniors, who retired after working in Ontario or BC or other cities.

I'm always eager to engage with the community, but I found that many Canadians are reluctant to discuss politics or care about what is going on in their neighborhoods, and the voting rate in city elections are very low. A few months ago, I shared a city government survey designed to collect residents' opinions about the next 5-year development plan with some friends, but only one out of five showed interest in participating.\nI hope that more Canadians will take advantage of their democratic system to drive change and shape her into the country they want to live in.
