Another person answered: Because of the total opposites in your statement. I am a conservative AND a believer. \nAnd that makes it so difficult for me to take Republicans serious. How in the world is it that those who profess to believe in GOD, claim to be Christians - and worship Trump? \nA self-confessed abuser of women (When you are rich, they let you do anything you want to)? \nA rapist. \nA thief (Think: Trump “University”) \nA man without respect for anyone (Think: “nick names.”) \nA liar (Think: My crowd was bigger than any ones) + 34,000 PROVEN lies more \nA hypocrite (The Two Corinthians) \nA cheater (Think: Two pregnant wives, both of whom he cheated) \nAn inciter of violence (Think: Fight like hell) \nIn no way does the man fit any concept of Christian character and yet, those who profess to be Christians think he is GOD-given??? GOD does at times allow evil leaders to be appointed over Nations as part of HIS ETERNAL PLAN in this World before the Creation of this World as in the case Egypt's Evil Pharaoh and Evil King Saul because Israel wanted a King instead of GOD'S Prophets such as Samuel directing them at the time of Israel's request.

Trump is obviously transferring most of US assets in East and Southeast Asia. While we are seeing bad trade news after another, this is only focused mainly on Western countries.\n\nJapan and Taiwan recently pledging billions of USD as investments are one of the indications that Trump is relocating its financial and possibly military support to Asia. Philippines will also be conducting a meeting with him and I think he would have defense and economic deals with our country as well.\n\nCanadian and Mexican economies would indeed suffer while European security would be in danger with the US pulling out of NATO soon. But we are seeing an indication that the trade and defense assistance is being transferred to Pacific Asia for some reason. This would mean the economic repercussions would not bring down the US to its knees, but it would still be pretty significant early on since Asian markets would take a while to develop.

Stop all oil exports. See how fast this tariff shit lasts. And then only give us oil if Trump stops effing with America and restores all the things that America was before he destroyed it all.

As an American, I am appalled by Trump’s actions. I, for one, agree that his reasons for imposing tariffs is a lie. I strongly disagree with his blatant disregard for America’s allies. There is NO justification for aligning the US with Putin. If he thinks Putin has our interests in mind, he is crazy! Before it’s too late, I hope that his cabinet, the house, and senate realize that they can no longer support a president who does not support our interests as a country.

I can't believe the people of the USA really elected him. Come on, you know Trump plays very dirty--I refuse to believe that the majority of voters are this brain dead. If our nation is this stupid then we deserve everything that is coming to us. PS: Trudeau, it's way too nice to tell Trump he's a smart guy--he's evil, not at all intelligent. Couldn’t agree more. I hope we can repair the damage caused by Trump. We know that Trump is making up excuses to place tariffs. I don’t know what is in this for Trump— other than liking to bully our allies and the US people.

European here (Swedish/Germn born in Austria) Cudos to Canada! Even if Trump should row back Canada will not forget this and has once and for all realized that their dependance on the US is not sain. So this was really dumb - Canada is already negotiating with other markets, amongst others Europe. And on the long run this will be worse for the US than for Canada!

Let’s get this clear - This is not about hurting Canada with Tariff. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war.
