Jobs? Yes we have different standards than other country's and need to ensure the applicant is up to Canadian standards, and the last I checked our unemployment rate was around 3.7 %. Unfortunately, Canada has dropped from 9th spot in the world's happiest countries down to 14th, but still way ahead of the US. Oh, and Canadians almost never immigrate to the US, we head there sometimes for a vacation to Florida, but most of us when we have worked a lifetime and are retiring either stay somewhere here or head to Belize or Costa Rica Or portugal where housing and food is much more affordable. So in ending and a small counter to your video title. Reasons to stay in Canada are Freedom, free healthcare, social safety net, tons of winter activities, large job market for motivated individuals, Fair elections where you can vote out a party that you don't like, The peace of mind that you can walk down the street without worrying that you will be shot, robbed, mugged or molested. That's my Canada and I love it.

I think most of this is a lack of purpose and a lack of managing finances because Canada is amongst the highest rated countries in the world to live in pole after Pole has shown this most of the stuff that she's talking about can be taken care of by focusing on getting yourself happy instead of letting your surroundings make you happy there's lots of expensive countries in the world especially now in Europe with natural gas for heating going through the roof because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine personally I love Canada forgot to mention in Canada like low crime rate compared to Nigeria and Ghana where I have a friend who's been robbed four times by bandits and kidnapping is not part of the GDP of the country plus a relatively low population compared to Nigeria I was reading some of the comments of some of the people who were saying that it's expensive well I've been to some other countries and it's even more there I really believe it's what you make it where you but happiness starts from within you and it is what you make it.

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Interesting points, I’ve had friends leave but they always preserve their citizen status just in case they get sick. Health care is so expensive for example in the US that people lose their homes to pay for surgeries and medications like insulin. So its definitely valuable to be Canadian if just for health cost reasons. Have the people that you know that have left Canada renounced their Canadian citizenship?

Everything is relative..,.if your coming from a country where things are difficult..coming to Canada is like heaven to them....Wen u relocate form your country of birth...to somewhere new and u hear aline its gonna be hard but if you have family and friends the transition may be easier

What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you. \n\nIn Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands. \n\nAnd now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad. \n So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I haved lived in Ontario Albert and Saskatchewan. My favorite was Albert sad we moved but I'm happy where I live now witch is manitoba. Those many be the facts about Manitoba I love it here winters are not that bad and people here are so friendly you get treated like family and were I live in Manitoba it's like everyone knows everyone to me it's safe and home.

Racism in Canada is different from USA. In the USA its more racism as a generic term to describe discrimination against ethnical state while in Canada its more about cultural discrimination. From my own experience its still better to be black then arab or indian for a simple raison is that black people like europeans share many cultural similarities like drinking alcohol, eating pork and sometimes smoking weed. So to be considered a good citizen you need to have these features regardless or skin color. Another thing is that Canada is a multiracial friendly country but not multiculural. Bad things about Saskatchewan:\n-A LOT of snow, A LOT\n- negative 30c is the norm in winter, summer usually plus 25c (It's COLD)\n-housing prices aren't as cheap as the video says... sure you can buy a place for $280,000 :) ...an apartment. \nA new family house made in 2012 costs $550,000, an old one made in 1980 costs $330,000.\n- Not a lot of bang for your buck. Yes, there are jobs in the major cities but the pay isn't so great unless you are a nurse or work in health care. (Best province for upcoming nurses btw) Minimum wage for the win! \n-As I said previously, minimum wage for the win! There are jobs but you don't get paid enough to live without a roommate or almost be constantly broke.\n-Rent is okay. If you DO manage to get a decent paying job, like a teacher, plumber, doctor, etc, rent is cheap.\n-Expensive retirement. Thinking the healthcare is great for seniors? It is. But, get ready to give every last penny to your senior home. A neighbour got a quote from a local seniors home for him and his wife, $65,000 per year (MINIMUM) for the 2 of them. That's how much the old folks home costed.\n-You need a car. If you want to visit outside the major cities, you need a car. In the cities you can survive traffick by bus, but it is better with a car.\n-You can't see northern lights a lot. Not from the cities. Stumbled on you video, 99% agree with most of what you say except for political correctness.this should be judged on an individual basis. Not on the political climate. I am polite at first but if someone is an asshole I have no problems telling them that and speaking my mind. Just ask my H.R. department..... Most of my friends are like that too.

I would never live in Quebec as it has the highest provincial income tax rate. The starting rate on the first 45K of income is 15%, that's triple Ontario and BC. Ontario is number one for me. If you live in smaller city, the cost of housing is bearable. It's starting provincial tax rate is just over 5%, much like BC. Alberta is only tax friendly if you are earning at least $100 grand but for lower incomes, their starting tax rate is double that of Ontario and BC at 10%. I have seen a few cost comparison websites by province and NONE that I have seen mentions provincial income tax differences, a major omission.

Quebec, Nova Scotia and NFLD are tied for history. I suggest visits to Fortress Louisbourg & The Citadel in Halifax and yes Montreal & Quebec City are historic and lovely. You have reminded me of why my friends from the subcontinent love Canada and wish to make their home in our drop dead beautiful country. I thought America was dream and paradise where all problems cease to exist. Little did I know America is living nightmare and hellhole where real problems actually just started. Even financially wise, half of the USA population is so poor working for pocket change. Nothing left in the end of month. Everything is dark, soulless and tasteless. This is damned land. There is no life. Just work sleep and paying bills. There is no outdoor life. Even people you know you get chance to see them every 3 weeks. Everybody lives spread out from each other and work different jobs, different days and shifts. It's impossible to make friends. It's impossible to get normal girlfriend or any girlfriend. No human connection. No passion, no enjoy. Neighbors don't even talk to neighbors. Just emotional pain, loneliness and depression that can lead to SERIOUS psychological issues and consequences. While experiencing all this I actually thought something was wrong with me, like feeling of being under black magic attack, that's how serious it feels. I always wanted to live here and to see people from all over the world and hang out with them. However people here share same mentality, they are very reserved and alienated from each other. Nobody cares about each other here. People are also very close minded and hang out in their own groups like in prison, whites with whites, blacks with blacks and so on... People here don't realize they became androids and modern slaves. They put money first and left behind family, friends and love. It's best never to come here, you have to be an idiot if you think happiness exist in America. Stay on your own land.

i’m typing this as an american native with 1st generation mexican parents. i lived all my life in suburbs , i’m 23. i started doing online school at around age 13 so i stayed home and basically quit hanging out with anyone by age 14. i feel i grew up online, no real life friends, didn’t get to know or hangout with cousins my age due to their own plans or schedule. i still live a very lonely life but this video very greatly shows why i want to leave the US. neighbors hardly know each other and don’t want to, they instead will purchase guns and be paranoid about everyone, despite all they do is drive to work, do 10 hours, come back. repeat. \n\ni visited mexico twice, i like the culture there, and i wouldn’t mind trying to live out there for a year see how i like it. there’s plenty of good land to work, i’m willing to work hard and i’m ok with eating simple. as of now i’m just saving my money and getting it into investment and hopefully semi live off that when i move to mexico in 7-10 years

I live in the UK and its the same here... everyone does their own thing... I probably walk past my neighbours in the street without knowing them... I'm not someone who needs people around all the time, so it's OK up to a point, but I'd rather my life not revolve around work just to live! I much rather work from home by myself anyway! There is more to life, I'd like to have more time to meet friends, go to church etc, however things have changed do much over the last 2 years...I know many here who are lonely and depressed which leads many down the wrong path.

You're living in small town and people mind their own business, stay away from trouble even start from small kids bullying each other , if you're going outside looking for friends meaning you're lonely yourself, go live in big city like newyork, los angeles, find your friends from work, school but then expensive to have a nice comfortable live.

I am now 74, and my childhood was idyllic, playing outside every day, roller skating, bike riding, climbing trees and long walks with my girlfriends. Sadly, due to the scourge of the drug trade and gun violence all communities everywhere have been adversely affected. Parents are fearful of letting their kids play outside. I have lived in Egypt for 20. years with returning to the states every summer for 3months I became to realize the problem.\nThen I returned to Florida USA for 8 years to work.The difference was huge from the friendly Egypt. Definitely, isolation is the norm now in the states, and it is impossible for someone to adjust who is from Africa and be happy.\nThank you for clearly warning of the culture clash...it is real. The only option for an African is to live in the big cities like N.Y.. Miami, Chicago, but it is so tough to raise children there due to the gangs.\nThis Ramadan, I pray hard that Allah will change things. Honestly I like this place..looks very quiet and peaceful..I'm from India and we also have lots of places like this especially government quarters or private industries quarters but the only difference is that we have more trees,houses were fenced and people are more social..I m blessed that I spent my entire life in such areas instead of some overcrowded congested places in Delhi or Mumbai loll..you will get to see the exact scenario especially during the day time in summers when people tends to be indoors but they comes out in evening everyday hanging chatting and playing around..and if you have some good friends then you really don't need any schedule lol..i still remember me along with my cousins and friends use to roam and wander around the locality even in the daytime in the scorching heat of summer when everyone was inside loll and we used to play volleyball or badminton till midnight..it was such fun and beautiful life..but unfortunately these days people are getting more reserved and more into themselves..

Not sure how I came upon this video but I'm American that's lived here all my life. It's so incredibly lonely, even as an American. I wish I could find people that want to have friendships and community. People like me are out there looking for friends and would gladly welcome immigrants!

The U.S. is very large, and there are many different types of people and many different types of neighborhoods, cities, and communities. I have lived where neighbors knew one another very well, and their kids would play ball in the street or play baseball at the local park or playground. I have lived where there are walking trails where you would see the same familar faces time and again. I have lived where there were many community activities. There are places where you can find farmer's markets and where churches are large and hold events. Our town has many groups that you can join, and there is a local theater. There are cities of course, where you can find all sorts of things to do. People do have a tendency in many places to have their spaces, and as most people do have what they need within those spaces...and many are spending more and more time on computers and watching televisions, we are becoming more estranged than we once were. We have come to value privacy. But, again, there are many many people with many different lifestyles. Today I went to shop at two different stores and ended up in conversations with several people. One man invited me to visit his farm. One woman told me all about her home and garden. Another lady told me about her daughter and what was going on with their family. I did not feel like a stranger, and the people I saw working in different businesses today were talkative and interacting with many other people, including friends and neighbors and other familiar faces. it just takes a little effort to smile and to speak. That being done, I was very happy to return to my home and have my own space again, where I knew I could take a nap without anyone knocking unexpectedly on my door. So....it depends on what you want. I would hesitate to paint the U.S. with a very broad brush. \nThat being said, it is very difficult to leave your home behind. It can be very difficult to stop seeing differences because you did love so many things about where you grew up, though you might not realize how much you will miss them until you've gone. I feel that in myself, and I have to be very careful not to miss the potential and possibilities where I am, because I am always thinking about how I miss where I once was.

There are hundreds of millions of people outside, interacting with their neighbors, kids playing together, people sitting on their front porches greeting people walking past. The video shows an overcast day which is likely to be cooler. A warmer day and a weekend would likely show people outside. Yesterday, I was outside and talking to my neighbors. People are outside every day, walking on the sidewalk. When I look at many foreign towns, villages (Google streetview) and see walls around houses, bars on doors and windows, I think it must be a place with a lot of thieves and criminals. The USA is very open and friendly according to many youtube videos posted by visitors from foreign countries.

I came to America when I was 22 .. student life was fun because you have lot of friends I studied in Pennsylvania and in California.. but right after college I lived in a state called Delaware for almost 4 months.. some of the most depressing times of my life .. I experienced everything you said in your video.. at 24 I didn't have a job yet because 2008 happened and so I didn't have a car .. most of the time I am stuck in the apartment studying.. I was so desperate to even see people .. the only place I used to become happy by seeing people is when I go to the mall .. 6 o clock in the evening you don't see anyone in the apartments .. it used to be like ghost town .. I ran away from that place the first opportunity I got ..no matter how much money someone offers I am never going back to Wilmington Delaware

Yes, I agree with you. I grew up in Indonesia which I used to have lots of friends but since I have been living in USA for 33 years, I feel lonely here. Westerners are very individualist, happy only for themselves. My son was born here, the way he thinks is very individualist, selfish, and he is happy only for himself or few friends. \nAsians, Hispanics, Africans are similar, they like to share, talk, give but not Westerners, they are very different!

That friendly community environment you are referring to went away in The 80s. Now there is the internet and not many people come outside the house. Even some parks are not as busy like before. It’s the sign of the times unfortunately but who or what is the blame?

One of my siblings ??is in USA ??and he tells us how lonely the place is and how people struggle with mental health and sometimes I just want to tell him if we could exchange places?but I choose to sympathise.this is because he is an extreme extrovert .Party after party kind of person, a person who moves with people ,on the other hand am an extreme introvert?this is the life I live here in kenya????.I can't wait to get back to my house u wish my neighbourhood was like this honestly❤.I reenergise indoors.And am in the process of going to the ?? .I just need one friend who will be my future husband and a doh and am happy.i don't mind having friends but am good with one.So see you on the other side????.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

I cant agree with you my friend about USA and Canada. Every kind of life is available in these big countries. If you talk about scandinavian countries like Norway or Finland yes Its somehow true. Akuna Matata.

I'm different . I like the life in US and Canada. I like western culture and its individual nature. I love family and friends too but I also like my space. I like the quietness and indoor life.

My friend, it depends on what you want out of your time in US. If you want outdoor life, there is plenty of it here, you just have to know what to do and where to go. If you have been indoors for 10 days and only gone out twice, then that tells a lot about your own self, not being an outdoor person. There are parks, lakes, amusements, beaches. There are facilities for hiking, walking, cycling, etc. I really think that you have not been exposed or you have not explored what is available here for outdoor fun. In the western world you can take your family out camping in the forest with the assurance that you will come back home safely. You can take your boat down to the lake for a day of fun with no problem. If you lived in most parts of Africa, and bought a boat, and started going to the river or lakes in the weekend, then the police commissioner, or military person who lives close to you will fabricate a reason to intimidate you and confiscate it. What I mean is in Africa, you run the risk of becoming a target once people see that you are an ordinary citizens who is doing well. Here, not like that.\n\nJust be happy that you are here and make the most of it. While you were in Africa, you dreamt about coming to America, now that you are here, all you want is to recreate Africa here. If Africa was good enough, no African will want to be here.

This is not the case in busy places like Chicago, New York though, mix with people in church, school, go to the parks, hang with friends after work, get a drink etc. Life is what you make it
