And if my husband were a permanent resident or here on a work permit, he could easily apply for me to work here, but since he's a citizen he can't? It doesn't make any sense and I can't wait to go back to my country where the people are friendly, wages are double, and the economy isn't collapsing.

I had been living in Canada for the past 25 years. I left the country for this reason. Canada is kind and welcoming, but people often mistake its kindness and politeness for stupidity and foolishness. It’s not just Indians, but people from many cultures who immigrate to Canada through easy means and tend to have poor ethics, attitude, manners, and lack professionalism.\n\nI miss the old Canada, as of now the country is inhabitable as it’s an asylum for fraudsters, cheaters, welfare check collectors etc. it’s really unbearable to hear peoples stories and how they got away. \n\nThe most painful part of it all is. You need to know that people don't study medicine in North America is because many high pay doctor positions are limited to citizens only. Canada is a secular society and, in my view, has made abundant accommodations to muslims including allowing muslim priests to hold religious sessions to students in Public school premises. I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. According to the news we broke 40 Million residents in Canada in the new year. They just announced that the Canadian population is already at 41 million as of last week. How can we absorb this many people. I would say the majority are from India. A lot of these new residents are amazing. But hear me out......For more than 70 years Canada has accepted diverse immigrants from around the world. These immigrants have always had challenges with acceptance and integration as they bought homes and had families and raised children to be Canadians. But these immigrants are economic migrants. They don't want to be Canadians like they used to. They want the PR, and the citizenship. But they want to work and move all that money out of Canada back to India. Then when they retire, they themselves will dump all their Canadian assets and move to India where cost of living and home ownership is exceedingly less expensive. Even their federal government pension plan money will move out of the country. I'll be totally truthful...MY perception of these economic migrants is that THEY HATE US. In India they are educated, come from Middle class and upper middleclass families. They want the PR and Citizenship so they can eventually pull their entire family from India over to Canada. But they have to Work at Burger king or Tim Hortons when they arrive. And the HATE and resent Canadians for it. \n Canada allows people to keep their foreign passports and citizenship. There are 300,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Hong Kong, There are 450,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Lebanon with a War about to expand across the border. I’m a 1st generation immigrant too and I worked too hard to get my permanent residency instead of protesting. It’s hard to go back, situation in not good but they have to understand that going back is not the end of life. In addition, I also suggest you to put some sort of disclaimer in your video to avoid people from hating Indian community. Due to some people and some poor policies too that allowed such people in the country, there is a rising hate for community and your video can trigger it even more although I personally stand for the side that you are showing but there’s a second side of this as well. Canada’s government need to tax rich, tax people who save on taxes with loopholes, and then incentivize having kids, add a better child support payment, increase student grants for people to gain skills that will help them in achieving a better paying job and Canadians feel more ready to give birth to a child.

Our parents want us to survive, so they send at least one kid to foreign land(Australia, NZ, Canada, US, Dubai, Malaysia, Italy, you name a country).\n\nIndians call us terrorists, westerners call us cheap unskilled labour and some even call us shit skinned, pajeets, diaperheads. \n\nI guess we are just sub-humans who have no rights.

I think what Canada needs to adopt it’s a quota on the number of immigrants coming in from each country. Open it to everyone based on the same point system we have now, and once’s those openings are full for India, Italy, Thailand etc… that’s it you’d have to wait till next year that the quota opens again. This will allow a more diverse immigration and minimize the xenophobia that come with having huge numbers coming in from only one region

I am Canadian and I work in an area with a lot of foreign student labour. This is an accurate summary of the situation. I have some college education, and I noticed many Indian students are going to private colleges a distance away. I believe the colleges aren't properly vetting these students in order to allow more in and collect more money from them. International students pay more to go to school in Canada. These young people unfamiliar with a western education system don't understand things aren't being done properly, but the bad reputation of these schools gets around and these students credentials are worthless. It's sad considering families frequently go into debt to send their kids to Canada. Mass Immigration is ruining housing in Canada because not enough building happend to house the sudden population increase. Canadians access to services such as health care is hindered by the population iincrease. Something as simple as the common language spoken in the country has changed. It is true if the goverment changes the people in the country the goverment has changed the country.

Essentially, they are finding ways to exploit their entry into the country, unlike my parents who had to wait patiently for years to come to Canada. I belong to an ethnic group. In the 1960s, when my parents immigrated to Canada, only a limited number of people from our ethnic group were allowed in. My parents were compelled to assimilate into Canadian culture to make friends. I had hoped to marry someone from my own ethnic group, but there were few eligible women. Therefore, both my brothers and I married Anglo-Saxon women. While I take pride in my parents' background, I do not live in a segregated community of my own kind. Instead, I reside in a mixed area and have no intention of bringing over 100,000 people from my village back home to Canada. Canada needs to restrict immigration until we get a handle on our housing and social services levels. Also, not all new immigrants should be allowed to move to Toronto or Vancouver. They should be sent to live in provinces such as Saskatchewan or Manitoba for the first 10 years. I am sure they need skilled workers. Also, would be forced to assimilate like my family did back in the 1960s because there would not be a massive enclave from their own culture in one area. Also, the reason my parents moved to Canada was their former country was Balkanized into different ethnic groups that exploded into a massive civil war. Canada might be in danger of that in the future. Certain ethnic groups don't tolerate certain policies that have happened in Canada. When they get to a large enough number all hell will break lose as they will have to culture and political power to fight back.

I’m a 68 yr old female Senior (caregiver) living in my car because my only option after a 3 yr wait was BC Housing near the DTES … these are SLUMS that we are supposed to be Thankful for … most of these buildings answer to no one because they get their funding from a number of sources … the STAFF are allowed to treat the Residents anyway they like, with No Conscience… if Canada can’t supply decent housing to their Citizens then they should STOP IMMIGRATION… most new immigrants are treated better financially then the citizens who live here …. The building I lived in is called PENDERA at Pender St. & Beatty Street in Vancouver… it ALL looks good from the outside so people really want to move in …. Why do they come to Canada, if not for the benefits? Why do these countries not set up their own Universities, where former international students go back home and teach their country and students what they learned here. It would be cheaper for them, and they can stay in their own country. But, they don't want to do that as they see Canada as the country of opportunities to bring their whole extended families here. We are already facing housing shortages, and don't need any of this type of opportunistic citizenships. They need to drastically cut the amount of foreign students allowed in. This year they are allowing 485,000 students. This does not take into account the students who are in high school or those studying for their master’s or doctoral degree's. In total it is 552,000. Then add on the Immigrants at 485,000, illegals or asylum claims( which is at record high numbers, could not find the figures for this year), then the migrant workers which are estimated between 700k to 900k. This is all too much. Drastic cuts need to be made, and this government that allowed all that to happen needs to be ousted out.

I do not mind single immigrants or even a couple without children. Canada should not allow the bringing-over of extended family.\nImmigration should also favour immigrants from similar minding countries.

Canada's gdp depends on immigration which is so unfortunate but true. It also depends on dirty foreign money influx into Canadian real estate and businesses. We have extremely corrupt politicians and lawmakers who also allow many scams openly happening in the country that is openly talked about on the streets for the last 15 years I.e. LMIA scam, Visitor Visa Scam, Students visa is scam, of course the real estate scam. All happening under the protection of law. The lawyers are becoming rich in facilitating these scams. The bad quality of people coming under these scams will multiply scams and corruption in the future when they know it's so easy to do scams here. \nYour street reporting and talking to common people is awesome, which is missing in mainstream media channels who just the mouthpiece of the government or some political interests.

It is so unfair when these new immigrants come and right away they are able to buy and own prime real estates while original Canadians that this country actually belongs to can only watch and dream of a chance of owning one but can not afford it. Worst yet most of these new immigrants they buy these homes and land not to live on it, but to build on it as for investments on behalf of investers that live in China, Hong Kong, India or some where else. This should be totally not allowed in your beloved Canada. Your Leaders and Law Makers of Canada should first and foremost consider the need and an opportunity to its people.

Canada is not founded on Islamic laws, Hinduism caste system, or any other foreign religion that goes against tradition Christianity or progressive values such as having basic human rights. Of course non whites can be Christians or at least respect traditional Canada values but the federal government is making no effort to assimilate the new economic migrants recently coming to Canada. Denmark is enforcing immigrants to learn Danish to help stop the ghettos of mirgants who don't respect Danish culture. The federal government has no standards for who immigrates to Canada and they should be voted out!

Great job, very good report. I live in Mississauga and the city has changed a lot the past couple of years and the housing prices are unbelievable. Immigration will continue to be a part of Canada’s economical system, but the numbers should be reduced at least by 50% , in addition to put a cap on number of immigrants from certain countries and give the opportunity to ppl from other countries to immigrate. You can’t allow 50% of your immigrants come from one country, that is not acceptable

The demographics in canada is same as GCC countries. The diffrence is the fomer allows permanent Residency,
