This is a matter of our military not doing their part in conducting proper mental health sceenings. How can someone with a psychological disorder be allowed to serve? When I was at MEPS, I was denied my request to be an MP because of a low credit score, and yet we have individuals in service that are not mentally fit. I do not wish any of them ill will. But just like most can agree, they wouldn't want a racist cop. We would not want someone who could snap while they are being depended on in a critical situation. In America the need for them has diminished by over 600,00 jobs lost in the last two years. More job losses in their chosen fields are coming too. I confess not suffering through the entire presentation but 2025 is bringing a lot of unemployed technical people from entry-level to senior positions in America. It would be great if everybody had a very good job but those days are over for a while. I live north of El Paso, due north in New Mexico. Don’t kid yourself, this crowd will get much worse. I live in a big town and you used to stop at a traffic light and they tried busting your window to grab your purse. Then, it was under Biden, they finally moved them into shelters, hotels, churches and paid them money (on debit cards) and gave them free medical care along with their free housing.\nEven then one young guy took his revolver in to rob the waitresses of their tips as a pizza place was closing. I don't understand the point the Colombian president was trying to make. It doesn't matter what kind of planes are used to transport them, those people broke the law and their actions are costing American tax payers thousands of dollars. Why did it take tariffs for him to offer his own plane?

The reporter misdirected the whole story. The story was about tariffs and their effects on both the U.S. consumers and the public as well as the country of Colombia. The Colombian president was claiming that migrants are welcome back as long as they are not treated as criminals since they are not criminals. Entering the US illegally is a civil offense like passing red light but not a criminal offense under US law. So then he said he could send his own plane and make sure that those people are not handcuffed and treated with dignity in their arrival, since Trump was treating them as criminals. It is not like some here are saying that the tariff threat caused him to back off, it was just a point of being treated fairly since they are not criminals.
