They knew this was coming and they refused to help the US secure the border. I'm sure if the drugs were flowing into these counties from the US, they would want immediate action on our part. Fentanyl is the #1 cause of death between the ages of 18 to 45 in the US. We are losing over 100,000 US citizens to this drug. Where are allies to help the US?

I mean really, if trump actually cared about drugs and illegal immigrants crossing our borders, why wouldn’t he actually try to work with Canada and Mexico instead of jumping straight to this? I mean sure, you could argue that Canada and Mexico didn’t help curb that stuff during bidens tenure. But this just seems like an unnecessary escalation that doesn’t even directly address the border issues. It’s all b.s.

It's not just all the parties supporting Canada's counter tariffs. The Canadian people are in support, across political, cultural, economic and geographical lines. Canada has not been as unified about anything that I can remember (and I'm old). Plus, Canadians are a stubborn people with a more community oriented attitude than the USA and we don't like bullies. If we have to change brands of food, stop drinking bourbon and American beer, pay a bit more, even pay more taxes to cover the costs for people affected... so be it. BUT... when the tariff's are lifted, don't be so sure we'll just start buying American again. Stubborn also means we don't let things go easily.

I‘m sure there will be other countries that can replace Canada and Mexico imports. It’s an opportunity really. Canada and Mexico just need to stop the fentanyl and illegal immigrants, or are they saying they can’t manage these.

Trump should really look hard into the last time the US went to war with CANADA it really didn't end well for US. We are really only nice when treated with respect as we treat others. This does not mean we are a push over or that we can be bullied. I watched African migrants daily using La Paz, Mexico as a stopping point on their route to the US border. They were almost exclusively male from 20-35 years old. I'm not sure how they entered Baja but they used the bus system to go north. Mexico now says they won't allow it, but they certainly were for a period of weeks I witnessed.

I think sometimes we have to have empathy for other people. And if we don't have that we're never gonna grow as a human race. Color should never, ever be a barrier. Language should never be a barrier. The only barrier that we have is hatred and just evil people and good. That is, the barrier that we should be looking at if we ever want to grow into what God created us to be eyes need to be opened. These people aren't coming over here and take what we have. You're coming over here because they want something better for their lives. They have struggled most other lives. I'm sure they have seen death. Famine pestilence, things that we have never seen in this country. Our generation.\n S are spoiled when it comes to things like that. We have to open our eyes a little further broaden.
