If you can show that between 1700-1900 your great- great - great grandparents resided in the USA or Caribbean and still carry their masters last names) I feel some of you folks are rewriting history, suggesting that they should be part of the reparations. As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

Most are feeling quite entitled. My hat goes off to the young man who said they need to learn to assimilate and they are on a student visa. I am 110% Canadian meaning my heritage goes way back. Not enough people are being sent back. Also, I don’t feel sorry for them because when my parents came to Canada, they went through the proper channels and filled out all the paperwork they needed to. As soon as they got here they found jobs which was in abundance at the time. So trying fake anything just to come here is unfair to the others who do it the legal way.

I am a Latino teen. My mother and her 2 sisters came to America illegally years ago,my mum struggled and got her papers 2 years ago but her sisters are still struggling to get theirs. But my mum secretly voted for trump but lied to my aunties that she voted for kamala Harris. My mom told me to never tell my aunties who she truly voted for but I feel bad for them. I don't know why mother did what she did. Why mom? my aunties has always been there for me, still is.?

Because people are still sold to the Canadian dream they immigrate but they don't know how hard it is to live here. I am native here and french canadian, so I won't leave my birthplace unless for France (I have the nationality) because I feel home with other quebecers like me. We don't feel really Canadian, but Québécois! And our people are talkative and friendly. I love the people here in Qc. Even if it`s a poor country now, I feel a lot of countries are going throught the same situation of mass immigration and low income. I understand traveling for years outside Canada for the last decade will put you far out of the Candian market. If you followed the traditional work-invest in Canada approach you might feel different. As a baby boomer, I am set and my nieces and nephews who have entered the market early, they all have homes. If you are just coming to Canada now, blame the Trudeau immigration plan that has overwhelmed the system. In 5 to 10 years we may have caught up, I will be gone but the current immigrants will be in good shape. Leaving now will just put you further behind in Canada unless you can find some place that will pay you an outrageous salary and no taxes. Good luck.

It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

I feel like much of yall dont know why illegal immigration is in such an state in the first place, currently, there are no legal paths for immigration, only if youre work-sponsored, or you have a family member, so of course people are gonna cross illegally, the human trafficking market is billions of dollars deep, for every hole they cover, a new one is gonna be created, is something they already said.\n\nthese are people in very deep economical situations willing to sell their homes and abandon everything they have to cross to a highly dangerous path through deserts and mountains, at the very high risk of dying and getting assaulted by the gang members they use, an people think its just because they cant wait in a line? and this is not a rare sentiment too, 70% of people think that there should be a legal path to immigration, but unless thats solved, immigrants are gonna keep coming. Isnt it smarter to solve the root cause of the issue?\n\nand thats without mentioning all the economical benefits immigrants give in this dying economy and without talking about all the immigrants who have already naturalized here with decades and are already integral part of communities.
