All of the major Canadian cities are rapidly becoming $#itholes with Toronto at the forefront. However, Toronto, as a whole, votes for all of these bad things to happen to the city, so how can you really be mad about it?

Toronto continues to vote in the worst types of politicians and frankly as a Canadian I think the country would be better off without it.

I would argue the Canadian immigration dosent work because the country is broken. Over 1M people landed in Canada. Half residents and the other half is students. I’d recommend searching Canadian sites the immigration problem might actually be the first time Canadians vote in a specifically a policy to reduce immigration across the board until The housing is fixed.

As a Canadian I would moove to the States only to escape winter, probably somewhere in Florida, Texas or Cali. But honestly daily mass shooting occurances scare me away. I’m a bit late to this discussion but I agree with the 99.9% of other responses. Although, I have enjoyed trips to beautiful areas of the US, & live close to the border where a day trip was a common occurrence. I now hesitate to even travel there as I do worry about gun violence, racism & honestly cannot understand the cult of followers who would even consider voting for an incompetent, narcissistic criminal to lead their country…. it’s mind blowing! You are desensitized regarding violence/school shootings… choose where you live? What’s the guarantee that this couldn’t happen anywhere in the US, even rural areas? On the topic of living in Canada, it’s beautiful with lots of country to see/enjoy from west coast to the east coast & we have healthcare, a government (although not perfect) elected by & working for the people. I’m proud to be Canadian, wouldn’t move for anything! We’re your neighbour but as it happens sometimes we just can’t believe what’s going on next door.

My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada.The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence.

I want to clarify something a lot of Canadians get wrong: Biggest bank of Canada is actually Desjardins but it is not controlled by OSFI because back 1995 everyone knew Québec was going to seperate from Canada. It got the approval from Canada, the support and recognition from multiple UN countries so Canada went ahead and did all the paper work in advance to prepare Québec for independence and because Québec was to keep using Canadian dollars, Desjardins the biggest bank in Québec became allowed to print its own Canadian cash... But then disaster: The 1995 referendum failed by 50 thousand votes and so Québec stayed in Canada and Desjardins won the lottery like the Federal reserve in the US did. I've worked with a lot of people who have moved to the US for work. It's a very compatible place for Canadians to go. The culture is very similar. People move for work pretty seamlessly. I lot of older canadians go to the southern US for 6 months a year for the weather but maintain their canadian citizenship for he medical coverage. \n\nThe COVID mess where twice as many US citizens per capita died compared to Canadians was a bit of a downer. I think the US has beautiful countryside and wonderful scenery and many lovely people, however, because of the divisiveness of the Republicans and the MAGA/Trump/NRA group which has caused such chaos and violence throughout the States during the past decade things in the US have gone downhill extremely quickly. The number one reason Children in the US are dying from is bullets - not accidents or diseases. That is a terrible statistic and the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing to stop it - prayer doesn’t stop bullets. \nAs a Canadian I used to travel to the US as a tourist but I no longer feel safe going there and will no longer go across the border. Florida seems to have implemented the worst political policies ever in its history and I believe it’s economy is going to absolutely crash. \nIf the States votes Republican in the election it’s going to be in its absolute worst possible political, global, financial, economic, and humanitarian position in its history. It will be a critical crisis for the country….

It seems to me Canadians know more about US history past and present, your politics, religious zealots, bigotry, racism, the list goes on. By the way the number one cause of death for children in the US is guns you might want to explore that. Personally I do not agree with Batsh_t remark. I would not move to the states. Medical is a huge reason but I would also have no right to vote in either country. Canada still uses 70s and 80s mentality when operating the country.\nImmigration is important, but is managed extremely poorly. Many new migrants struggle to find a home and to get the proper documents to establish themselves, like the rest of us.\nCanada allowed foreign buyers to buy properties and lands, which have driven the housing market to an insane level we see today. We have a leader who seems to be deeply invested in shutting down our oil and gas industry. He shut down oil and gas. Which put hundreds of people out of work. Then he slapped us with a carbon tax. He told us the carbon tax dollars would be invested toward producing green energy projects and manufacturing jobs. So far, the Carbon tax went up again, he banned plastic straws, he’s hitting our farmers with heavy restrictions on fertilizer, because it’s not green enough. \nMany of our indigenous communities have been living for years with contaminated water. He promised he was going to ensure the indigenous communities have access to clean drinking water. He has not fulfilled that promise. \nHe’s bidding $30 billion dollars to hopefully sign a deal to manufacture electric car batteries for Volkswagen. \nHe’s investing in other projects, as well. Unfortunately, he’s only investing in eastern provinces. \nSo far, there has been no investments in western provinces yet. Many of the out of work oil and gas workers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are still waiting on the jobs they were promised. \nLow wages, high inflation, high taxes and high income housing is bringing a lot of us to our knees. \nOur leader is corrupt. It seems like every week there is another corrupt scandal he and his government are involved in. \nI can’t speak for every Canadian, but I can say with absolute certainty that a large number of us are sick and tired of our current leader. The agreement to close Roxham Road was signed a year ago - why has it taken this long to enact that rule? Maybe the 45,000 refugees that have managed to cross in that one year were courtesy of the liberal government but housed and fed etc. at the expense of the Canadian taxpayer - so Turdeau could maybe buy himself some more votes down the line - except he won't be running the show by the time they would be eligible to vote!

Canada has been run into the ground by government after government for 40 or 50 years now. Every level of government in Canada serves itself at the expense of the people paying taxes. All government employees have unshakeable job security, unbelievable benefits and pensions, and a total lack of accountability of any kind. Debt has been run up over this period continuously at every government level.
