We came to Canada 17 years ago, with nothing, we were lucky, a few years later the kids were moving out, we both are self employed (skilled people from Germany) we worked like oxen, still do, we paid off our own house and soon 2 more rentals, we are close to retirement. Canada was extremely difficult at the beginning, they don't accept knowledge from other places, even if it comes from places like Germany. You got to do it the retarded Canadian way, If you're just some poor lad who works in a Hamburger factory you will stay poor for sure. There is no affordable housing, a blue collar job will keep you poor. You gotta be self employed, THATs the only way here. Winter sucks, we will soon spend our winters abroad. Canadian government is run by communist criminals, there are skilled people moving out of here, lots of them. There are druggies roaming the streets where we live, (and everywhere else) if one ever wants to break into my house I am legally not allowed to protect my family, it's a joke. A bitter one.

Just say you can’t get a visa in Australia ans you need to try Canada. No need to drag the country down. I live in Canada and yes it is a very nice place to live but half of what you said is not accurate. Nothing will prepare you for how long and cold the winters are. My perspective is a bit different…I grew up in Canada, I lived 4 years in Toronto, 1.5 years in Waterloo, 14 years in Ottawa and 3.5 years in Calgary…overall, just little over 23 years in Canada. I graduated from University of Waterloo and Masters from University of Ottawa. I have a strong educational foundation from Canada, which I am very proud of. I moved to Houston, TX in 2016 and my last 8 years of living in US has nothing but AMAZING!!! While living in Canada, i was never able to save any money. In my last 8 years of working and living in US, I am 90% done paying off my mortgage on a very nice 5800sq feet house in Sugarland, TX. I owe very nice 2024 Lexus and 2023 Mercedes SUV that I can only dream of in Canada…so Canada is good in so many thing (I do have a soft corner for Canada in my heart as I grew up there) but when it comes to opportunities and life style to its full potential…USA is way ahead of the game.

I feel badly for this guy. He's being deported while his family is here in Canada. He's served time and I don't feel as though this was any kind of homicide. He was a novice rig driver. Housing and rental markets are a joke. Health care system is a joke...... I spent 7 years waiting to sign on with a family GP. The employment markets is a total joke with wages being stagnant for around 10 years. As an immigrant your home country qualifications won't be recognized by Canadian employers and used as another excuse to offer you a pathetically low wage. Then there's the never ending bureaucracy if you want to relocate or establish a new business...... the only thing that seems to thrive in Canada is political corruption..

I hope nobody treats me this badly when I screw up in a new job. A very sad event took place, but this is just a vindictive response. Everything in Canada is broken, very broken. It has become a backwards country in almost every way. We are embarrassed every day to live here. quality of life is non existant, crime rates are absolutely insane and we reward certain groups for committing crimes and not taking responsibility for themselves. Please my advice as Canadian that grew up in Canada since baby age. Canada it’s getting worsen nothing it’s improving Now I’m in my 40 years please and please return back to Singapore or somewhere else Singapore are wayyyy better and beautiful place greener than Canada. Cost living are high, cellular service are crazy expensive for only one service , highly competition in the workforces, weather it’s long brutal cold , summer it’s not summer it’s humid and dry spring a better but only last 2 months then dry summer , no social life , city are dead quiet environment only Quebec alone the research from a newspaper local said there’s 50% are mentally sick after seeing this data few month later I’ll pack my bag and never ever looking back !

I understand this is an economics channel, but saying that NO ONE wants to live in Canada because of 3 issues with the economy that most developed countries in the world are dealing w/ is kinda stupid (It's almost like most of the world is in a recession.?) I don't understand the numbers, i am Canadian and we are only 41 millions in the entire Canada, yeah we did let 1.5 million immigrants in in the last 4 years but the number doesn't add up and second i can see more Chinese and black than indian peoples.
