Canada has a “marginal” or “progressive” tax rate system. Making more money doesn’t “bite you in the ass”. The higher tax rate is only charged on the money that is above the margins of the previous tax rate. The majority of what you make stays at the lower tax rate no matter what- unless you are an elite earner who makes so much that your initial income is only a drop in the bucket.

Honestly noone in their right mind would wanna stay in Canada...I use to think of Canada as a great beautiful country but then after visiting and seeing its a little India and that too very messy and unaffordable I realized mistake and came back..India is far more better than Canada cause whatver you make you can afrord a house or land and vacations too and all of that while living close to family \n\nOh also the healthcare is great in India cause in Canada you do pay high taxes for the so called FREE and still have no appointments for months so Canada is a bad place to live.

Everyone who is not successfully living a a temporary student but had a student permit should be deported. Regardless from where they come from. Honestly, our parents & grand parents taxes built these colleges & universities. There are too many deans, VP’s & bureaucracy in these constitution’s today. We do not need foreign students, more funding or raise tuitions. Our post secondary education system needs to clean house. Stop over charging for courses & tuition that doesn’t even offer classroom studies just more online courses.

Winter is mild now compared to the 60's. \nI try and aviod processed foods that are taxed as opposed to most groceries that are not taxed. \nHealth Care has gone downhill in the last 25 years. \nBut, no one goes broke paying hospital bills. Fortunately health care where I live is very good. No wate times or problems. But, it would be great if nurses and doctors came to Canada!!!

Case in point, thousands upon thousands of empty condos in greater Vancouver. Which equates to a shortage of housing for people that have lived here and paid taxes their entire life, as a Canadian. Foreign real estate speculation and land purchasing has not only been allowed, AND encouraged, new properties/condos are being marketed in China well before they are IN Vancouver! Now, it's too late to plug the leak. Thus, rampant homelessness. \n\nCompletely irresponsible immigration policy. Nobody in their right mind would deny that a multicultural country like Canada needs immigrants. Especially with the aging population. But as far as accommodating/housing these people, we're not even close to being on target. Dual citizen here. My property tax in a small town in Canada is almost $10,000/year. In Nevada, it’s under $1,000. I’ll gladly pay for private health insurance in the US.

I understand traveling for years outside Canada for the last decade will put you far out of the Candian market. If you followed the traditional work-invest in Canada approach you might feel different. As a baby boomer, I am set and my nieces and nephews who have entered the market early, they all have homes. If you are just coming to Canada now, blame the Trudeau immigration plan that has overwhelmed the system. In 5 to 10 years we may have caught up, I will be gone but the current immigrants will be in good shape. Leaving now will just put you further behind in Canada unless you can find some place that will pay you an outrageous salary and no taxes. Good luck.

Seriously, this is an absolutely disgraceful and pathetic attack by the liberals. Here is the cold hard fact. The government controls immigration. The government controls who and how many. The liberals have been granting student visas for years, literally unchecked in both numbers and who they were given to. The schools merely took in however many the liberals let in. Hundreds of thousands of them. Had trudeau set a reasonable cap to begin with, then the schools would only be accepting that capped number. The more trudeau let in, the more the schools took on. This wasnt the fault of the schools. This is an absolute direct result of the liberal government completely screwing up the immigration system. \n\nNot only did trudeau let in far too many students which blew up school enrolment, but it messed up the entire employment system, healthcare system and housing market. Not to mention that it drained the foodbanks and students were using them as their grocery store. Now we have hundreds of thousands of international students demanding trudeau support them, give them housing, jobs and citizenship. To say trudeau completely wrecked immigration doesnt even come close to what has resulted. The entire country is now reeling from this, and it will take decades to resolve the consequences. \n\nTrudeau is despicable. And to think our tax dollars paid for his pathetic finger pointing video.

I have cousins who are illegal immigrants, I’ve been trying to sponsor my wife to come here legally and it has been the most dreadful process I’ve ever been through. Meanwhile these guys are here already receiving food stamps and housing. I make 220k a year. I pay my fair share in taxes and don’t need any government assistance. I’m definitely for returning illegals that are jamming the immigration system.

Trump says he wants to get rid of low skill migrants for highly skilled migrants, migrants that can actually contribute positively to the U.S economy, and not the ones who don’t pay taxes and send all the money they earned back to their home countries.

Instead of deporting them they should have a larger income tax on immigrants. The tax would convince many to leave and deter many from coming in. They should also allow them to work regardless.

These illegals do not pay that much in taxes because their wages are so low. The services they receive totally out weigh any tax they pay , especially if they have children using US schools. Other services the get are fire and police protection and US infrastructure like roads and subsidized public transit.

The key to attracting people to stay is reducing taxes. At least skilled individuals will have a reason to remain here, even if it's not for the community itself.

I don’t support trump at all but I think immigration is an issue here (obviously not with people eating cats literally fake) for American citizens and what our taxes go to. Even if illegal immigrants are removed, there needs to be better humane improvements for those who want to come in the right way.

Large amounts of people are here double dipping in social programs while being paid under the table.\n\nWhy are any social programs paid by tax dollars going to non citizens in the first place?\n\nIf they cut access to those programs many will simply self deport.
