Hello everyone! I'm Nemanja from Serbia. Recently, I had a conversation with a Canadian friend who now lives here in Serbia, and I was captivated by the stories about Canada. I was planning a visit, but I came across some videos discussing issues in Canada. Is there anyone there who can share their positive experience? I'd like to hear different perspectives before making a final decision. Thanks in advance!

Yet, again, another “Boomer” success story! “Boomers”, including Trump and Biden, have turned the USA into an on-going circus act. I’ve lost hope in the selfish Boomers and lazy Americans. We need some new, hard-working citizens who can contribute to making America great again.

This story is very true. I came to Canada when i was 10. Was raised in Canada and life was great. All that changed in the last 10 years. Everything is sooo expensive you have to cut back on leisure activities that you need to keep your mind healthy after a long work week. All i did was work long hours for the necessities for me and my family. After a long conversation about a year ago with my wife, we decided to move back to Portugal (I have dual citizenship). We moved this past summer and couldnt be happier. Life here is much more laid back and you are not charged to do the simple leisure activities like going to a provincial park. Food is cheaper, housing is cheaper, insurance is cheaper and weather is 100x better. No more having to hibernate at home in the winters. Only thing i found more expensive here was electronics and fuel. Something needs to change in Canada.

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

I used to work for a Canadian guy. He was a wealthy, successful man and had very few good things to say about the current state of things, and he was a success story. He's got 3 well educated, entrepreneurial sons and they're all going to the US.

I’d like to think I could watch the whole video but frankly within the first 3 reasons people are “leaving Canada” - not something I’ve notice although in and election season I am not surprised this may be getting blown up In conservative press, you have left out any real context. Yep we pay taxes - but you don’t speak to what services those taxes do our don’t deliver. The complaint that employers want to hire people with experience is as old as time. I’m 70 and when I tried to get jobs as a kid and later as a university grad - it was the same story. Whether the job really requires experience or the employer is just using it to keep entry level wages down - that just goes with the territory and also feels universal. Lastly - you speak of “the Canadian way” without giving any examples. What is “the Canadian way” or is that just your euphemism for racial or cultural prejudice? If it is you should just say what you mean and stop bandying ill defined terms around that let viewers arrive at conclusions you don’t intend. So already being pretty annoyed with your Masters degree opinion piece - I had to stop you and move on. You thoughts here are not very meaningful and feel like they are full of grievances and intended to be asking for audience validation of your grievances which pretty much invalidates your disclaimer at the top of the video.

Shocking to watch this video. 20 years my family and I had an enjoyable stay in Vancouver especially the Rocky mountain trip. Beautiful scenery and I was thinking of migrating to Canada, Vancouver. \n\nRecently I heard horrible stories of racism and anti Chinese. Canada economy now is bad and no safety staying there. High taxes, rising crime rates and not much opportunities for work or business in Vancouver. Within 20 yrs Vancouver was once a beautiful, safe place became a rundown crime infested place.

Many stories of these being used in “assaults” it’s not 1800 anymore anybody who thinks only a few can parade around in public legally armed and others can’t isn’t Canadian

I'm SO fed up with how these stories are framed.\n\nStep one: Say the students are the victim. Talk about all the good they do. How productive they are. How much money they bring. Say don't blame the students.\n\nNO ONE IS BLAMING THE STUDENTS!!!\n\nStep two: Make the reason we have to slow down study permits is because we can't provide for the students. We can't house them. \n\nWHY IS THAT OUR RESPONSIBILITY? Why do we have to provide for them? They aren't citizens. They aren't permanent residents. Them coming here is a PRIVELIGE. \n\n\nWhy can't the answer just be that we have to lower numbers because life is totally unaffordable for Canadians/PRs. As if that alone isn't a good enough reason. As if we should just accept lower standards of living because we have to take care of international students.\n\nSo sick of these narratives.

Arab nations did take in Palestinians before right? In Jordan and Lebanon? Didn’t the Palestinians assassinate the Jordan King and caused a civil war in Lebanon? I think that’s why they are scared of taking in Palestinians now. \n\nCorrect me if I’m wrong, but when Israel was formed, many Arab nations united and declared war on Israel but lost, hence they lost some land. \n\nI’ve heard many stories as well about many human rights abuses in Arab nations. And some Arabs says Palestinians are not worth the dust on their shoes. \n\nIsrael is definitely not 100% innocent but I feel this could’ve been resolved many years ago if both sides are not filled with hate. This will be a never ending cycle I think which is very sad.

i work with these students and frankly the horror stories i hear about there housing is disturbing.

Not really. It is accepting too many Indian international students, which is a different story. Stop accepting Indian students entirely and you will see how this is fixed.

This is Canada's version of the 'Great Replacement' theory, third world immigrants, students and eventually their families. I especially like how the CBC chose to deliver this story using one of their 'banana journalists', you know, yellow or possibly tan on the outside, but very white on the inside. Justin's propaganda ministry is transparent.

A lot of Indian students coming back from Canada have told me horror stories about sleeping on park benches and nearly starving to death because housing and food is so expensive. They literally kiss the ground when they come back to India. Thank God I never immigrated to shithole Canada.

My parents immigrated from Britain in the 1959s after WWII and built a comfortable life! At 72 I live a relatively comfortable life although I have spent all my savings and I currently rent! I lived in Spain with my much younger Colombian wife who passed away in 2019. My pension income is sufficient for me to live since I returned to Canada and I have better than adequate healthcare and dental care! The short story is \nTurd and the Turdettes were elected because Harpoons and his band of buttkissing bootlickers were self-serving incompetents. Now Turd, who has never been competent to be PM, which his long list of scandals should easily prove, is going to compel the election of another incompetent self-serving politician. Canadians never learn, switching from one idiot to another as the country spirals into the sewer. The proposed level of immigration and climate change options will turn Canada into a third world country? Maybe we can call it Turdland and then we will all be Turds!

You're far too kind. Toronto today is a cesspool, and the palest imitation of what it was even 15 years ago. But the further back you go, the better it was. My father was able to buy a large, 3-story detached house for around $225,000. Today, that might buy you a parking space.

I am tied to Toronto because of family and friends. But yeah, the cost of housing sucks. Structural I don't think housing will improve for a while. There are too many people wanting to live here for the space available now and in the future. The governments (a Ontario and Toronto) have to change the by laws to get allow single family dwelling neighborhoods to be bull dozed, not to build gigantic condos but multi dwelling space which may be a few stories high.

Fifth estate is actually one of the last credible and legitimate journalists around. Im proud you guys are still able to dive into these issues with cited stories and supporting evidence. \nIt sucks we can only get so far before it gets too messy to follow or it’s a “legal” loophole, at that point it becomes theory without proof so it’s hard to nail down whatever establishments are responsible.\n\nThe scariest thing is that it’s likely pre-meditated (personal gut opinion)

This is a great message to all foreigners. Go back where you belong, live amongst your own beautiful people and enjoy your own culture in your own lands. Ironically these folks seem like nice, reasonable, respectable people. That they mentioned the drag story hour proves they are good folks. Its the dregs and welfare recipients that will stay forever. Its also ironic that they have many of the same values that western countries used to have, before they were flooded with the 3rd world.

Your story is absolutely true , because you are not alone to face this facts. Many other families also are preparing / or are already left this country for some reasons as yours.....But now my very QUESTION to you , may looks quite embarasing & difficult ....Where are you going to find really a GOOD place ( a Paradise Country ) to live a happy life ? .... well by now, in this year 2024, there are WARs everywhere. No country is a utopia. We typically hear about what all the wonderful things a place supposedly has, then you learn the whole story. The best way to really learn about a country is to read or watch books or movies meant for the locals, where they typically describe problems that occur, such as crime, corruption, social mores and such.

Agree all has a free choice but hate is not for anyone but defending yourself or country is a different story. Agree about the immoral laws and teachings in schools. All the best. My question is where is Allah’s Heaven for it’s not the Heaven of the Bible. All the Best and maybe like Canada we have taken in many people from other countries when in a war or famine etc. maybe some of the surrounding nations of Palestine can take in your people until war is settled.

I was 100% behind you on every point until you mentioned drag queen story hour. Thats when you guys turned me off. Are you afraid of drag queens? If you don't like drag queen story hour then don't send your kids there. That's seriously one of the reasons you want to leave Canada?

A very wise decision if you place your faith above all as a marker of your identity.\nFrom a western perspective , unfolding over many decades, the ever larger influx of islam is turning into a slow motion train crash as , as you have outlined in your reasons, incompatible with appeasing the almighty.\nRef item 2 , you dont have to be a muslim to strongly agree with your position on this. I wish i could muslim country too and enjoy all the privileges i have. I am a a Queer muslim and it was not easy. I am very appreciative of the opportunity that is given to me in the west and not being judged at a work place how i may appear. I am glad you made this video and making the best decision for your family. Even as queer peeson i am supporting drag queen story tiem but you made it sound like it is happening every library and every where. I only read it in news paper and never actually saw it in reality. Leaving Canada doesn't do anything for supporting for Palestinians. You could have used your voice and voting power in support of Palestinians. I do understand it may be best for your children. Where are you moving to? Everywhere warm and by the sea, in the usa, has drag-queen story time and needles in the playgrounds. ?

If you have a problem with drag queen story time, then don't watch it? It isn't indoctrination; it is freedom of speech and freedom to educate yourself. It's their freedom to do it; it is your freedom to not support it. Western society is democratic.

You never hear of Muslims supporting Christians in the Muslim countries. Muslims never condemn atrocities against Christians in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Palestine or Pakistan. Saudi Arabia only accepts millions of Christians as foreign workers. Why? Yet they won't employ the millions of unemployed Muslim Arabs. That is why Europe is overrun with millions of Muslim refugees. I've heard many stories of Muslim parents relocating to Qatar or the UAE so their children can get an Islamic education. Then their children marry local Arabs and then move back to Western countries for financial reasons. Many of their offspring become radicalised against Western culture.

I immigrted in 2016 and went back to my country in 2022 after collecting my citizenship, and staying a total of 5.5 years.\n\n In terms of money, i brought $15k as settlement funds. Saved in excess of $65k from salary i earned after paying taxes and got $16k in tax returns. From these savings i helped my sibling in paying his NDBE exam fee, paid hospital bill when my mom was diagnosed with covid in 2020 (she fully recoered and is in excellent health now) for myself i bought books, computers and other electronic gadgets of my choice, After returning back i made an investment of $20k and bought a plot of land for $25k measuring 240 sq yards and still left with nearly $12k.\n\nIt would need another $50k to built a double story house on it with all the luxurious ( which i will save in my next tour) . To me the best place on earth is where you can live a happy and comfortable life.

Canada can be a really hard place to live. Too many people competing for limited resources- story as old as time. But throw in large immigrant population whose culture is a mismatch for existing infastructure. You are going to get growing pains.\nBTW, the so called studies /polls/surveys are a joke. The sourcing and disclosure are laughable.
