What I don’t get is America isn’t against immigrants coming to America (the legal way) but people want to protest coming here illegally and are upset people are getting deported because they didn’t come the legal way. I work with a ton of guys that came to America the legal way and are all for deporting the illegals back to where they came from. The legal immigrants work hard and pay taxes and illegals don’t pay taxes they get benefits and haven’t paid their dues like the legal immigrants had to do to get in. Taking care of illegals takes away from Americans getting the help they need and we have to pay taxes. They protest and wave the Mexico flag holding signs saying “Immigrants built America” and $hit on the things America has done for them. If they built America and are so proud to be from Mexico then why don’t you build Mexico up like you say you did in America. If it’s so great why are you coming to America illegally and running from your country. Do you think protesting and blocking streets and highways is going to get you anywhere with Trump and do you think your going to win the American people over by pissing them off doing stupid things like blocking highways and Streets. You don’t win people over by pissing them off and you don’t win Americans over Shitting on America waving your flag when this country has done more for you then your own country. If you came here illegally and broke the law then you should’ve thought about that before doing it and being put on the ICE list.Go back and by all means come back when your legally allowed and while you wait for that to happen and the papers to go through build up your own Country!

“The new American dream is being able to afford to leave here” is what is being said all over Social Media. This is a great opportunity for people to hurry out of here before God’s full judgement is pour out on this place. I agree America wants to deport illegal migrants. And I respect they their of emotions to their shitty nation. \n\nBut handcuffing people like slaves or in some concentration camps is soo wrong. First, the US sanctions Venezuela because they don't like their president. (Talk about election interference done subtly). Due to this, their economy collapses because being a small country in the American continent, they are way too dependent on the US for their import exports.\nA bad economy makes crimes sky rocket in Venezuela, due to which every family that cares for their children, want to leave and come to a safe nation like the US, where they are denied entry.

I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada. Should I have to explain why! It's sad but the U.S.A isn't what it used to be. Mostly because of corporate greed and the influence it has on the gouvernment! Just look at how Trump is running things. I almost moved to the US with my parents when I was a kid but was crying because I didn’t want to go. I am so glad that we didn’t move there. We don’t want to go there for many reasons, free healthcare, a good education system because we pay our teachers well and have good quality teachers, we don’t carry guns and don’t want them, thereby our streets are safer. We don’t have mass murders, school killings and all that fear. We don’t have the racial and ethnic prejudice that there is in the US. I have travelled a lot for my company and personal to the US. I was scared and didn’t feel comfortable at all. We know so much more about US geography and history and the US knows nothing about us. Complete ignorance. Well I have no plans to ever visit again. I love our people, our freedom and our culture. We are nothing like the Americans (sorry). I am staying in my beautiful country! I feel safe and happy here! We don’t want the American dream, we are living the Canadian dream!

I have a hard time believing that our government finds so much money to allow illegals to function. The post-war world order is now over. It's time for Canada to drop out of NATO and NORAD (what is the point of a defensive strategic alliance with the only country in the world that is openly threatening you with annexation?) and expel all American military and government personnel in the country. Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea etc need to form a new strategic and economic bloc oriented toward the goal of breaking America, just as we did with the Soviets when they were the largest threat to global peace and prosperity. American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. Combined. \n\nFurthermore, Canadian trade with america account for almost 80% of all trade in canada. A 25% increase would be absolutely devastating to canada. In america its about 13% so a 25% increase would cost more but it wont have any significant impact.\n\nNo doubt this tarrif war will cause far more problems for canada mexico and china than america. By a LOT. \n\nI dont think america is being selfish either. China does nothing to protect america from sending precursor chemicals to america to manufacture fentanyl. Canada facilitates illegal immigration and fentanyl into america with no accountability. And mexico is illegal immigrants by the MILLIONS and is literally working with the drug cartels. Make America Pay More Again! As disruptive and asinine as Trump's economic schemes may be, it's sadly necessary that AMERICANS (we are often a very self-centered and blissfully uninformed people) feel the consequences of their vote as soon as possible. This is going to hurt All Canadians and will extremely hurt Mexico. \nIt's only going to hurt yearly profits of 1% of Americans and those with CanAm's and anything Bombardier or Rotax. The automotive industry will just come back and have to eat the margin losses until they recoup. They still have plants here, they just have to bring everything back, rehab the buildings and start hiring and training folks.\nChina is the problem because they make everything and ship a lot of goods into this country... \nWe joyfully took our major manufacturing there instead of keeping it all here and becoming an industrial complex like they did as perfect capitalistic communists ...\nOh, but I forgot, regulations, mandates and emissions drove away most of our industry along with greed to increase margins. Until those regulations, mandates and emissions standards are changed, there's going to be a major manufacturing concern in this country.

It's not just all the parties supporting Canada's counter tariffs. The Canadian people are in support, across political, cultural, economic and geographical lines. Canada has not been as unified about anything that I can remember (and I'm old). Plus, Canadians are a stubborn people with a more community oriented attitude than the USA and we don't like bullies. If we have to change brands of food, stop drinking bourbon and American beer, pay a bit more, even pay more taxes to cover the costs for people affected... so be it. BUT... when the tariff's are lifted, don't be so sure we'll just start buying American again. Stubborn also means we don't let things go easily.

Only US thing i consume are digital services. A lot of us Americans remember learning about the tariff wars in history class that ended up in deciding fair trade was the better route. I fear we’re about to learn the same lesson again…\n\nAs far as the drug trade goes apparently the GOV doesn’t spend enough time on the internet because the cartels are no longer just in Mexico they’re in the USA and in Canada. They have learned the Canadian border is a lot easier to cross and they can get into BC pretty easily due to relaxed immigration policies In Canada.. they probably don’t actually know where the drugs are coming from or where they’re being manufactured entirely. The cartels are probably a step ahead of them at the moment. \n\nI can’t believe the auto industry lobbyists were not instructed to go full send on the detriment of the opposite position taken from the NAFTA. The only thing I can see is auto sales are slumping and maybe they can blame this on the tariff policy for massive restructuring. \n\nI kind of understand wanting to negotiate with Mexico because they probably buy less American goods than Americans buy Mexican goods (drugs excluding) but I’m guessing Canada is a better customer of American goods than Americans are of Canadian goods. Why would you want to upset a good partner, customer, and ally!? It’s Beyond my comprehension…. If Trump was really smart he’d convince some factories to actually invest in Mexico with cooperation from the Mexican government investing in efficient transportation from the manufacturing sectors to the American border and the coasts for distribution. This would likely really help their economy and change the whole dynamic of all the things Trump has issues with. Fix it at the source not try to treat the symptoms.

Typical Americans and Trump. Sign a free trade agreement and then when you feel like it just violate it for your own interest. They only play by their own rules. If Canada violated the agreement they would all over it. A while back they tried to nail Canada with 4 billion in softwood lumber tariffs in that they claimed Canada violated the free trade agreement, which they did not. The arbitrary trade council which oversees both countries ordered the USA to pay back Canada the 4 billion. The USA never did. Trump claims Canada treats them unfairly yet they are the ones who violate the agreements. They are the poor trading partner. Canada should trim the exports to the USA significantly and find alternatives. Just cut out the corrupt Americans led by a convicted criminal.
