It seems like you have no real idea of what Canada is like as there are three seasons and the summer is very hot in many areas. The reason more why there is not much population up north in many places is geography as it is very rugged. Like the majority of the Western USA being desert, mountains and scrub. There is also still lots of land around the populated areas and there are 40 million people living there.

If you want a real taste of Canada you are not traveling to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa etc. Visit a city or town that you must rely on your neigbour, not avoid them. Approx 12%+ of Canada's GDP is located in rural Canada. I agree with your video to an extent, sure I grew up in a town with, 3rd world condtions, no clean water, no sewage, no roads, fly in fly out and you never mentioned that we have a small portion of that here too. However I see you are only scratching the surface of the issures that can polorize each viewpoint.

I think you are judging Canada using relatively small scope of criteria. Is some of what you say true? Probably. But there is so much more to Canada. Personally, I think there is so much beauty here, but I sure the hell don't expect to find it in Vancouver, or any other major city. It comes down to how you look at something. If you think it's ugly, then you're going to find a lot to support that opinion. The opposite is also true. There are 2 sides to that coin and they can't be wrong, because they are subjective.

Anyone who actually stops investigates will find that almost every major country ( UK, France , Germany, Japan , Korea) are facing the same issues on matters such as affordibility and health care issues . All one has to do is read publications such as The Economist to see the evidence . During my career - I an recently retired - I was located in a few other countries and Canada still remains a great country with opportunties . I also know that most who claim they will never come back almost always do because there comes the point where they are older and have health issues and in most cases they come back to Canada. At the same time, we are charged excessive fees for internet and cell phone useage. I note that both major political parties ( the Liberals and the CPC) ever take any real action to address the excessiv charges rendered by Shaw, Rogers, Bell Media, and similar conglomerates .

Has anyone else noticed that a majority of crimes in Canada over the last couple of years , have been committed by people who have unpronounceable names , and darker complexions. You young lady are ill-informed.Telecom in Canada is expensive due to extent of territory and the low population.(as the population expands,prices go down) 2 major banks just went bankrupt in the USA and people lost their life savings,you will not see this in Canada as the government not only garantees a part of your savings,but closely monitors the banks.As for homelessness it is not a Canadian thing as you say, it is worldwide.(There is not ONE SINGLE COUNTRY in the WORLD that has not that problem to a certain extent.)As for doctors while it is true that there is a shortage,any true emergency or serious illness wil be treated swiftly and you will not go into debt for it.Maybe people should learn to not bother doctors for their hangovers and little stomach aches and thus liberate the space for real illness

Hi, I’m a Canadian living in the USA. Pros and cons for each. For hard workers and entrepreneurs,you will undoubtedly have success- USA is where most of the big companies have started, and small businesses do well, too. Americans work very hard and not everyone is suited for that type of lifestyle. My second point may be a little controversial. As a retiree we have Medicare which covers major medical- hospital and doctors at a rate of 80%. The additional must be paired via private insurance that is optional or out of pocket. We have chosen a good supplemental policy that allows us to make our own referral to specialists- with a waiting period < 2 weeks. The point is that you can choose what you want. No waiting!I know that people in Canada who wait a year to see a doctor in a non emergency situation! You will say that it is expensive,but people choose not to prioritize medical care and instead purchase luxury items etc. what I like is the choice. I don’t want to not be able to see a specialist when I feel I need one!! I like \nChoice!

Great video! Another issue is childcare for working parents. There is no free childcare for working couples, both parents have to work to afford bills and the mother staying at home is not an option for the majority of working class Canadians since life is too expensive. For this reason a lot of people decide not to have children in this country simply because of unaffordability. Considering all the taxes Canadians pay this would greatly help people. The government gladly keeps bringing more and more new people into Canada ( mostly to get voters) but ignores the needs of existing Canadians. Not only you cannot find a house to live or afford one but having a family is nearly impossible without 3 or 4 jobs and using the food bank because after paying the rent there is no money to buy food.

Up until 81 Canada was 96% Caucasian. We did not want want this forced multiculturalism. I am grateful to Canada for many things however, having the opportunity to travel to many places, some great, some questionable and some just plain horrid, my 'home and native land' affords me the most depressing of existence. I'm not spitting on the Dominion, just being as transparent as I can be. It is the type of place to question QUALITY vs. QUANTITY. The cost of living is astronomical....housing is a major worry...free healthcare? I moved to Canada in 2003, I think over the past few years things really took a turn for the worst and alot of the issues we're encountering now are mostly a result of government incompetency \n\n1) Instead of focusing on treatment and recovery we prioritized harm reduction and drug decriminalization which largely results in the current mental health/addiction crisis \n\n2) Instead of seeing housing as a public need, policies make housing investment vehicles (notably for rich folks in foreign countries) and locals can't really afford to buy or rent as a result\n\n3) Instead of building mass transit infrastructure including subways/light rail we continue to be extremely car-centric, most Canadians can't get around without a car but also can't really afford one due to all the costs associated with ownership. \n\n\n4) Government continues to cut back on healthcare spending despite an aging population across the country\n\nAnd one nongovernment-related aspect which is NIMBYism -- endless delays/protests on all major projects because someone is afraid their backyard views might be obstructed or some old trees might be cut.

You're comparing Montreal to major cities in America. If that's the case, what you're saying is fair. Montreal is in deed well planned and human scaled. BUT the rest of Canada is NOT like this. Other cities like Mississauga, Hamilton, Scarborough, Calgary, etc etc are all sprawling, ugly, need a car, stupid expensive, shit transit, shit food you name it. Toronto is also stupid expensive but at least has good food.

I am a Canadian living in the USA the last 8 yrs. I would not move back to Canada. The cost of living in Canada (GTA) is significantly higher than many major cities in the USA. The only thing that Canada has an upper hand on is the universal healthcare. I am sorry guys this one I do not agree with you all.

Healthcare. As an American living in Canada, Canada actually care about their people. You have a major health issue, it won't bankrupt you. You also see your doctor more for preventative care.

I was born and raised on the east coast of Canada, lived in Vancouver and visited Montréal Edmonton, Calgary with the acception of Winnipeg I’ve seen every major city in Canada. \n\nI will always have pride for my country and love for my family there but it has changed dramatically since 2010.\n \nI will say the transportation in Canadian cities are better and so is the crime and the food but you have to drive a minimum of an hour to get anywhere outside the city, your not leaving that city without a car and good luck surviving without a car outside the city, and VIA rail is way overpriced. The GO train is nice though.\n\nLiving in America it has changed a lot since covid too though people are a lot more desperate and you can feel it but people are too prideful to admit, where in Canada people are struggling and they dress and look terrible and fail to dress nice because there is less prideful.\n\nCanadians are not nice people they are passive aggressive and will not got out of their way to help you most of the time (modern day) kind of like Californians.\nThe east coast Americans are rude and trashy but they will help you if you show respect. I’m a Brit who had just returned from a holiday in Mexico. My hotel TEAMING with Americans and Canadians and the difference between them both was IMMENSE! Now I’m not saying this about all Americans at all. Just the majority that were at my hotel. Man those people were rude. Rude, Arrogant, entitled, obnoxious and loud. The way they spoke to staff, other guests and locals was awful. No manners, clicking their fingers, cutting lines, being aggressive, blaming others for their lack of understanding. Men stomping around being rude about other peoples nationalities. Chanting and being very egotistical. I’ve never experienced anything like it.\nThe Canadians though. The absolute polar opposite. So polite, so kind, so respectful, so friendly. I spoke to so many about life and experiences and all were just lovely. Obviously I know that not all Americans are that way, nor are all Canadians lovely. The difference I saw in those 10days day was huge. I’d much rather go to Canada than America now.

How you compare a country of 30 million to a country of 400 million? Seriously. Canada don’t have the infrastructural planning and structure of the US. And Major Canadian cities are on US borders !

The socioeconomic flaws are much difficult to compare considering the very foundations that birthed America as well as its intricate and dense population. There are variety of implications that comes to accommodating a diverse population of 380 million which is 10 times the population of Canada (these can also be structural). The rent in Montreal is not as high relative to major urban cities in America simply because of the demand. People simply do not want to live in Montreal at the same rate that they do for places like San Francisco and New York. Moreover, places like New York and San Francisco, (this can also include Toronto/Vancouver), have rigorous rent controls as well as zone restriction laws that limits the capacity for home builders to produce affordable housing, (especially when compared to Quebec). I live in Canada, but I even I must admit that economic success and freedom is much higher in the U.S. Name me another Western country with more african Billionaires/Millionaires than America? Canada is immensely reliant on Government to regulate trade and commerce and due to our lack of entrepreneurial spirit, I expect that we will remain a commodity-based economy for decades. This is especially a sad reality if interest rates continue to rise, as it will negatively impact the purchasing power of our dollar which is indexed to commodities . \n \nCheers,

Sounds like life in major cities might indeed be better in Canada, and I wouldn't be surprised. I think major cities in the US blow. I like to avoid them when possible. \n\nI don't know if I agree on the food though. You can find spots pretty easy in most places, and I have been to some serious backwaters.

I moved from the U.S. to Canada. Some observations:\n1. It's unbelievably safe in Canada. The most dangerous places in Canada are still very safe compared to much of the U.S.\n2. Outside of DC and New York and I guess Chicago and L.A. in the U.S. and Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, you need a car. I disagree that city planning is that much better in Canada.\n3. The maternity leave in Canada is great \n4. The unemployment insurance in Canada is great too\n5. I prefer the Canadian health care system. I never experienced any long wait times. My wife had literal brain surgery and it was free whereas it would've been hundreds of thousands of dollars in the U.S.\n6. Canada is further to the left and is much more woke than the U.S. Everything here is about equity, diversity and inclusion. Even many Canadian conservatives would be moderates in the U.S. but most people know this already.\n7. There is a better work life balance in Canada. I worked a lot more when living in the U.S.\n8. Most Canadians live by the U.S. border  so the weather is not that different than most northern American states. But once you go to northern Canada, it is as cold as they say it is.\n9. The U.S. is better for making money.\n10. It is much more racially segregated in the U.S. \n11. Outside cities like Montreal and Toronto, Canada is very white.\n12. Things are much more spread out in Canada. When I lived in the U.S. driving for 1 hour to go somewhere was a long drive. In Canada, that is normal.\n13. Canada is pretty great if you like the outdoors. There's only 36 million people here and outside the major cities, you find small towns and the wilderness. \n14. Canadians are quite friendly. I know my neighbors in the country. I never knew my neighbors in the U.S.\n15. Canadian politics is boring and I like this. However, in the rural areas, it seems that people really hate Justin Trudeau.\n16. Since Canada is so similar to the U.S. it is very easy to adjust to life here.\n17. There is no country more similar to America than Canada. I've lived in many different Countries throughout my life however my experiences in the states and Canada were very similar. The only major difference was safety and in Canada, there is not as much classism. If your poor in America its going to suck however you will have it much easier in Canada. I think if you got money America is a better nation for you. However if your poor/low middle class Canada is a better place for you. But overall I find both nations to be very similar culturally. In my view, Americans and Canadians are essentially the same people.

Its a bit niche but phone bills in Canada are pretty awful. I don't know if it has gotten better on the east coast, but on the west coast pays 60$+ per month for jack-all on data on a bare minimum smartphone plan. I live in Europe now and I pay 12$ for 5Gb of data and free texts and calls across Europe (also no data roaming within the EU, which should be a thing between USA and Canada imo). These kind of mobile plans are starting to take root in the USA but are still not available in Canada, which is a major L in my books.

I live in what is generally considered the worst major city in Canada (Winnipeg) but from what I've experienced of big American cities it's honestly leagues ahead of a lot of them in terms of quality of life. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of places in the US that are much nicer than Winnipeg, but we wouldn't come anywhere near the list of worst cities if we were an American city.

US cost of living is high but comparing Montreal to LA is weird, my own limited experience with Canada has lead me to believe that Montreal is by far and away the cheapest major city to live in in Canada. Vancouver and LA or Seattle might be apt comparison.

Whilst I agree with some things you mentioned, let me know where it's better than Canada. I lived in the US and it was no better at all. It was work work work with no life and not much family time. Only very rich people in both Canada and USA don't pay much taxes because of the loopholes. The CRA and IRS mostly go after people who are struggling to put food on the table. \n\nI had a major operation that cost over $350 000,00 in Canada. I don't even know what I would have done if I was in the US with shortfalls, many people go bankrupt due to medical expenses. I am grateful I didn't pay anything. The health issues you mentioned are everywhere due to covid that has ravaged systems in most countries. It is very easy when you are healthy and not faced with a hefty medical bill to say negative stuff. When you are desperate like I was then you count your blessings. \n\nTalk of racism and discrimination, it is everywhere. Africa where I originate from or many developing countries, the corruption to get simple things done is pathetic. \n\nI wish you goodluck in your search for paradise here on earth. I would still take our medical system over the American system without a second thought. Though I would be in favour of a parallel paid tier that's integrated with the public tier so that the public tier benefits from the profits and investments.\nRegarding financial technology, the perspective here is slightly short sighted, although to some degree, I agree. Compared to the US we have had debit (Interac) at retail point of sale since the late '80s/early '90s, and email money transfers (Interac eTransfer) since the late '90s/early '00s, long before the US had anything comparable such as PayPal, and apps like CashApp or Venmo effectively have no marketshare in Canada because of the long history of having email money transfers.\nLastly, for the cell phone plans, you are 100% correct, though we still don't have true unlimited, and only on plans including 5G service. However, there are some mitigating factors such as the high ratings of the network quality and stability for all major cell carriers despite wide swaths of our geography having little to no population and rugged topography. It's not an easy country to cover properly or reliably without it being expensive. Though Canadian telecom and cableco profits are through the roof, as are those of the big 5 banks. We definitely need more competition, though I'm not sure foreign companies coming in are the way to go with this.\nAlso, technologically speaking many important technological and scientific R&D is being conducted here and innovations are made here all the time, but in many ways, these companies get traction outside of Canada long before they get traction here.

I moved to Canada from Australia. My standard of living is much worse here. My family and I will be moving back to Australia. \n\nI don’t agree that there’s systemic racism here - the majority of my friends are ethnic minorities and I saw no evidences they were discriminated against (nor did they ever express that they experienced racism). I feel Canadians are obsessed with race due to it being an issue in the United States, thus they exaggerate these issues and often draw instances of racism that are very thin (such as the examples you believe prove racism). “Silent racism” is code for interpreting something as being racist. I believe if we had to list the top ten LEAST racist countries in the world, Canada would be in the top 5.

First let me say that every country and I do mean every single one has their pluses and minuses Canada's major plus is the fact that crime is almost nonexistent as opposed to the United States where there is a mass murder every single day and a mass murder defined as four or more people killed in One Time by one person this does not even count where there is just two or three people killed at one time they're not included in the statistics the United States is out of control with violence guns you name it and I've lived here for 40 years I spent the first 20 years in Canada in my life was so perfect that I can't even dream of a better life the problem with most people is they move to the larger cities Vancouver Toronto I grew up 40 miles outside of Montreal on the great Majestic St Lawrence River one of the truly great rivers in this world my parents had a summer home on the river and every summer it was water skiing fishing boating golfing swimming you name it growing up 40 miles outside of Montreal if you wanted The Nightlife of Montreal one of the great International cities in this world then you could just drive there in less than an hour and enjoy the great nightlife that is Montreal as someone who is French and Italian I loved the winters because ice hockey was my favorite sport and I played all the sports nothing even comes close to the speed skill and excitement of ice hockey it is like soccer on steroids they're only two cold months during the winter January and February and even then it's really enjoyable as long as the temperature stayed below 32° I was happy because that meant that they could make outdoor ice rinks and I could enjoy my favorite sport of ice hockey all winter long Outdoors as someone who's lived all over the United States over the last 40 years I wouldn't trade Canada for any place else the United States is full of scammers I've been in all kinds of businesses working for different companies and there's rarely a company that I didn't get cheated by and had to take to the labor board for justice and compensation I trust nobody the main thing here is stay away from the major cities of Vancouver and Toronto and you will be able to have a great life with affordable housing and if you're into the outdoors Sports Canada is the greatest and best secondly Canada has the third largest oil reserves in the world and so there are a lot of Natural Resources that Canada has that is wealth for the country that will filter down to the average person what people don't realize is it when you live I've lived in Southern United States and most places the summers are unbelievably excruciatingly suffocatingly miserably hot hot hot at least in the Colder Weather you just put on some great looking ski wear and you can be outdoors and not be bothered by the cold because you eventually a climatize yourself to it Canada is the second largest country in the world by land area and has only a 35 million population there is a lot of room for growth and opportunity and in a safe safe environment to raise a family and at the end of the day that's what it's all about I wish I could say the same for the United States being safe but no it is not and Mexico is they have six out of the top 10 most dangerous cities in the world and Tijuana is the most dangerous city in the world with almost 2000 murders and the year is not over don't believe me just Google it the reality is that the drug cartels control everything in Mexico and the police and politicians are afraid because the cartels are so ruthless there is way too much money to be made in selling drugs and the cartels will stop at nothing to make sure they get their money by the way most of my family still lives in Canada and are doing extremely well for themselves and I am the only fool that moved to the US

You are wrong about Canada protecting and caring about homeless and in-need people. The reality is that even though you don't see all the homeless people, there are tens of thousands of them in each city, more so in the warmer climates. The UN has already been on Canada's back for the abuse of homeless people and the cruelty towards them and those with mental health problems. Canada is a fraud and has been deceiving immigrants and visitors for over a hundred years. Many of the homeless people in Canada, especially in the past 20 years and from the start of the pandemic, continuing to this day, are now including people with good educations and many years of high-level job experiences, as well as whole families. These people became homeless because of massive job layoffs and lost everything. Contrary to the popular Canadian ideology, homeless people are not lazy slobs who don't bother to work and need to get their acts together. Many of the homeless shelters are filled with dangerous people, bed bugs, and diseases. Many homeless people choose to find alternatives to sleep safely. Many homeless women experience terrible sexual assaults that rarely are reported and rarely ever taken seriously by the police. Most alternatives to shelters are limited and there are so many restrictions that qualifying doesn't always happen. Many have had their ID stolen, so they are unable to get jobs, rent homes, or even have a day to shower and clean their clothes. Most donations of clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags are disregarded because most homeless people don't have the means to carry things. Their nutrition is terrible, through no fault of their own. Many food banks will not give food to those without a home. Many soup kitchens will only help periodically and not for every meal. Canada's treatment of homeless people and mentally people is not just disgraceful, but criminal. The general attitude of many Canadians, as taught to them by deliberate government propaganda, is that if you are poor or were abused or a victim of crime, is that they did something to deserve it. Rents across Canada are beyond the reach of the majority of Canadians, yet, Canada refuses to set up a council house system like the UK. There are no emergency homes and no emergency assistance even close to what the UK and other countries across the world provide. Canada's continued abuse, ill-treatment, crimes against humanity, and genocide of the First Nations peoples is not a past history, but an ongoing history that is not about reconciliation. It is about shutting them up so that they cannot speak and get true justice, instead of just a federal government settlement of a meager amount that has only increased the addictions of victims, who have no one to help them or a place to turn. Canada lies about trauma help and treatment for people for having been victims, or have developed PTSD (this is a brain injury and only a mental health problem if the person becomes suicidal or is unable to do the basics of essential living), and worse, Canada lies about this in relation to kids. Alberta has a place that they claim is for treating trauma in kids. However, this place is nothing more than a low-level counseling center to reunite kids with their parents, who have been removed by law. Any child requiring help has to deal with just basic counselors, who are not trained in helping traumatized and PTSD kids. In relation to the First Nations peoples, if the teens have mental health issues, and if they have to be temporarily hospitalized by their parents, social workers and doctors will force joint custody with the parents, to treat the kids or remove them so they can carry on the government's crimes against the First Nations peoples. The crimes continue. In these past few months, a baby was left to die in a basket at a nurse's station in the Misericordia Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta. The mother was allegedly treated like garbage and her child was allegedly called a specimen. But this is not the only case of such abuse of First Nations pregnant mothers and their children. A case over a decade ago allegedly also took place, and the number of these cases in this hospital alone may possibly be much higher, and other hospitals may also be hiding such crimes. An infant, who was the victim of attempted murder by one or the other parent, was put in the care of relatives by social workers, who were totally unaware of the crime, but the one parent, who was put in the hospital's mental health unit, mentioned a version of what had happened, and when the relatives found out, they were allegedly reassured by the hospital that they would deal with the matter. The relatives believed, understandably, that the hospital would report the crime, but it never did. Allegedly the hospital covered up yet another crime. The police in the city, allegedly informed at some point, one of the relatives that no charges could be laid even if the child remembered as the Canadian health services do not believe that children below the age of 4 can remember anything. It was when I heard about this that I realized that the reason Canada has gotten away with the crimes against the 1st Nations, immigrants, Canadians, and who knows how many other victims, through the mandated alleged use of forced assimilation and the alleged Soviet-style education system, is because of this fake claim that children and even infants cannot remember things. This deliberate lie to those relatives allegedly by the police, shows clearly that Canada is following the dangerous path in a more stealthy fashion than the Nazis did to the Jews and others they rounded up, arrested, tortured, and/or eventually murdered. Your perceptions are limited by your obvious lack of real knowledge and real experience. Please, if you are going to make such a video, live in Canada, all over Canada for at least 30 years, then comment, please!

I recall back in the early 60's a school friend and his family PLUS over 60 families who had emigrated to Canada from Holland decided to move back to Holland. I saw him a few years later and\nhe told me the vast MAJORITY who had gone back to Holland were back in Canada. This was in Edmonton.

There is a direct correlation between high IQ , High earnings , business ownership and the percentage of people who leave the country. This is brain drain. \n\nThe majority of people who stay in Canada are either desperate(left a war torn , corrupt country ) or are born here and simply don’t want to leave to change their habit. \n\nCanada is beyond overrated , and is subpar in a multitude of ways . The way I see this after watching this documentary for which I am not even an international student, that there are no consequences at all from Canada to those colleges. No one is regulating anything, hence, these Crimes (Yes its a crime because of the straight out lies and misinformation) in India or even other countries will continue to happen. Brampton (City near Toronto) have majority of Punjabi population and I am sure you can find many more students with even worse stories than this. 4-5 Int student dead bodies sent to India every month!! Just wow!
