I’m Colombian and it’s sad to see people from my country lying to the authorities to get documentation. \nI know everyone wants a better life and definitely my country is not the best place for low /middle income families; however, we should understand that US or Canada have no obligations to legalize anyone. There are already so many problems to handle in their territories and with their citizens.

The USA are a secured country, anyone trying to flee it through that illegal passage should not be considered as refugees, but as immigrants who are trying to get in illegaly. This is unrespectful to all those who are applying to come to Canada but are refused (for other reasons than serious ones). We as humans have enough technology and resources to ensure everyone gets decent housing and food around the world yet here we are living in inequality. We produce enough food every year to feed the world 7 times over yet so much of it goes to waste and so many empty stomachs. Btw countries like US and Canada waste more food and resources than any other country in the world.

You can tell theyve never been to the US. Our emergency rooms can be all day long as well. And the taxes and health care costs end up being the same. Canadians are really misguided when it comes to their taxes. That tax situation is literally the same in the US. Its a false narrative that US people pay less in taxes when you build in the SEPARATE health care costs. For example, I pay 24% in taxes based on my tax bracket. Those taxes do not include the extra health care costs of having a PPT with health care premiums and deductibles- which is an extra 9330 (so an extra 10%)- so now we are paying the same- literally 34% between taxes and health care. AND add to that- the health care that we pay does not cover lab work and copays and medicines. Thats all out of pocket. So its honestly the same cost. It would be MORE fair to live in Canada where everyone gets that taken out of their taxes. Instead in the US, I pay for my health care, and poverty income people get free Medicaid. Then these girls talk about the cost of living? They have never been to the TRI state area.

I have mixed feelings about this. I feel like a total first letter of the alphabet-hole for not thinking of helping right away. When I lived in San Diego, it was a palpable daily reminder. Lots of people have cross-border lives. Family, work, home is on either side of the border. Now living up in Washington State, it's different. Here the border with Canada is all about preventing Canadians from stealing technology from us while allowing them to work for us. Some partners who come visit us often times get searched for technology. Like pen drives, samples, etc. It's a totally different story. Canada probably has less homeless than all of south America. It's an easy claim because literally, if you can't insulate your self in winter you go visit the great gardener Jesus and his weirdo multipersonality disorder. In south America, you just need to eat and not get eaten by things. So the result is that people survive way below the poverty line. Then, the big lie tells them that the US is better so they come over to eventually learn how the others found the three headed gardener the hard way. I feel like maybe if they got a tour of the country and learned how shitty it is to live here too, they might think twice about coming over. There are periods and ways when the US opens it's borders but it's looking like a real shit show right now. We don't have enough jobs and not enough houses to house everyone. At least in south America you can live in the family house and no one bats an eye. People help each other in poverty.

When everyone complains, just look at how desperate people are to get here. It's still a great country.

The difference in cost of living (Canada being higher) I think has become a problem. Also, everyone in the US doesn't have to live in NY or LA, so we can decide on a more affordable city to live in. It might not be as cosmopolitan as NYC or TO, but at least you can afford a home. My Mom was born in Ontario in the 20's, and migrated to the US in the 40's for lack of work. In the 80's, I would have loved to have moved to TO... even had girlfriends there, but doors just wouldn't open. Get in if you can, but if you take away the epidemic of U.S. gun violence (wish we could...), then America is still a good place to live and is still a magnet destination for the world. Great video!

An important factor as always been for me the different of murders, mugging, rapes, theft, people killed by firearms each year up to 38 000 a year in the US, add other types of weapons, and many more. In Canada we have clean water, lakes everywhere, we have so much more good timber for building, land for farming etc. The cost of health care in the US and schools can easily ruin them, their parents and families. Canada health care is mostly free for everyone, although seemed slow by many, but is it slow or are they worried to see a doctor to realize nothing is wrong with them ?? Going to see a doctor for a cold, a bad night sleep etc are not really worth a doctors time or theirs. The education system in Canada educate their citizens, watching Youtube videos about Americans being asked common questions like : Which 2 countries border the USA?? Sadly most are morons and think it is Europe and France LOL Parents and children's have a way better time when they give birth and spending time with their families ;-) You might get better pay in the US, but then you have to worry about getting shot, robbed or killed, get your car or stolen, house broken into etc. Plus add all the scammers and scams in the USA, that citizens, non citizens and politicians and city officials and even cops do, no thank you.

Well Canada is a great country, my grand parents were able to get here in 1957 with their 3 kids, after going through and surviving WWII, work in Europe was scarce and employers were abusing their workers everywhere. My dad was one of those 3 children's, he met my mother here, they had me and my sister. Today i have 3 boys of my own and my sister has 2 girls. Canada has any country as their plusses and minuses, but i wouldn't live anywhere else. I've lived my whole life on the south shore of Montréal, worked in and around Montréal for 35 years. Never ran out of work as long as i was willing and able to work. I've worked in all my life, 65% immigrants and 35% Québecer's. There both are kinda racists in some way and they have there own reasons as well. I was bullied in school till i was 11 years old, i had an accent and dressed differently since my dad made our clothing. Being ridiculed, pushed, punched etc, and then one day the bully of the school approached me and wanted to fight me. I was scared, everyone else were laughing, so i clenched my fist and punched that kid right on the nose. Everyone got quiet and the principal came out, we went to his office and then he asked me straight away : Are you gonna do this again or was it a one time thing ?? I said it will be one time thing unless someone else wants to fight me again, then i will have to defend myself again. He said ok and now go back to class, and that was that. But in the 1970's with the augmentation of people moving here after WWII, people in Canada were scared immigrants would steal their jobs etc. My grand father worked all his life till he died at 82 years old. Worked 6 days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day. My dad had worked all his life 70 hours a week and sometimes 85 hours a week. People complaining about doctors or hospitals, a lot are going in for a cold, the flu, headaches etc, for sure take 2 aspirin or tylenol and stay home, no need to see a doctor for that. If you have a broken limb or were in an accident, you go right in and get fixed up without issue really. Any country as it's inconveniences in the end ?

I’ve watched the video and I’ve read many comments. My message it’s to immigrants, Canadians & everyone. Just be some patient to read for you to think reasonable after this. I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. I rent an apartment for my family, without to proof to the landlord that I’m the best guy in the world with a witnessed county about that!!! I want you to be sure, that I am not the lonely case. Just ask Ukrainians stied in Europe for a while before they move recently. Just ask them. I am not saying it’s a paradise or cons don’t exist. Just paradise doesn’t exist! And cons are everywhere. Lived in Canada all my life. Love it. But,,, there is no future here. High taxes, poor government,, low wags, racism is a huge problem, and its not just white peoples. The immigrants can be super racist also. All this crap that Canadians are polite is not real. Its called passive aggression. When a Canadian says sorry if you bump into them in the store ,, they are being sarcastic! “Sorry you are an idiot and made me apologize to you eh!?” We are not nearly as nice as people think. The health care system here is trash! And will never improve. And its NOT free! Canadians get the tar taxed out of them their entire lives! Every single move one makes is taxed! Tax on tax on tax. This pays for our crappy health care. And not so good education system. People here including immigrants, not just white people, can be very racist. Quebec is a particularly racist province! They seem to dislike EVERYONE unless you are french Canadian.

Well everyone, the option is to go into a system like the United States has , which incidentally is far from perfect itself, my spouse was in emergency for five hours last Saturday night before anyone looked at her, , which the system will spiral in to a business and if you think you have problems now, just wait till what’s down in the future. As a Canadian who has lived in the United States the last seven years, our good family healthcare is $1270 US a month, which incidentally has a $1000 deductible and a 10% co-pay on everything we experience, and trust me an MRI scan ( yes , just a scan, not surgery) for your brain is costed out at $7000, so be prepared to pay your deductible and 10% of it along with all the other attending doctor charges, even with good healthcare at 1270U.S. a month ! That monthly healthcare premium is almost $1600 a month Canadian. Canadians complain about taxes being too high also, but that is my profession, and when you round out the two , there may be 2 to 3% adjusted for the exchange rate higher and you still get a lot greater bang for the buck. Also, your higher education in the United States is easily 2 to 3 times of what you’re paying for in Canada. I know it’s not optimal, however trust me you still have it good in Canada, I find so many immigrants complain about it when they come to Canada, Yet they are living in a relatively safe and secure country, just a little bit of appreciation would be nice. Is it always what I can get, how about maybe what you can give? Maybe the answer for everyone and candidates to start to pay to go see a doctor if you can have the doctors availability, that is the sad truth, and I’m quite sure people will not like that by any means when they see the charges. Trust me ,Canada is obviously far from perfect, but is overall still a pretty darn good country, for somebody that dislikes it so much, they need to go back to where they’re from, and compare, it might be a better option for them.

My husband’s family in Morocco leave their front door open all night sometimes and we just are 99.9% sure that nobody will mess with them. I’ve walked by many people’s homes who had their doors open. My husband and I lived in Marrakech, and we left our patio door open all night many times. Granted, the patio was fenced in, but I wouldn’t even leave my balcony door open in the US. When I lived in NYC I seriously had somebody climb up my building one time and try to get in my window. Spider-Man ass thought it was his ex girlfriends apartment and just tried to come right in.\n\nEdit-\nWhen my husband and I were engaged, we were driving around one night with his family there in Morocco. I just wore house shoes because we weren’t planning to go anywhere and we drove by a jewelry store. My mother in law insisted we stop and look at the rings there. I was too embarrassed to get out, so they were like “Okay, just stay here and we’ll do it for you.” They let my mother in law walk out of the jewelry store with a bunch of rings and weren’t even worried we’d steal them. I was, and still am shocked. When I mentioned how surprised I was, everyone seemed confused. They were like “What’s the big deal?”

First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. Canadian tax payers don’t want to pay for drug addicts to get more drugs the Liberal Canadian government have set up “safe injection sites” and “ methadone clinics” that basically give these addicts more drugs that are payed for with our tax dollars again these clinics and safe injection sites didn’t exist when I was a kid and since then the number home homelessness has increased as well as the number in population addicted to drugs. Also you’re getting your statistics on hate crimes motivated based on race or ethnicity from CTV new a media outlet on the pay role of the Liberal government most people with any sense don’t pay attention to mainstream media here in Canada because it’s no longer journalism when you parrot a narrative that the government that is constantly attacking the fundamental values of Canada no controls I live in a complex that consists mostly of Arabic in Syrian people most racist comments I’ve heard has been between other families that have recently immigrated to Canada and it doesn’t happen often it’s usually just from unruly kids that are too ignorant to understand the implications of the words they utter at one another RBC is one bank in Canada if all the people working there happen to be white it doesn’t make a difference and is likely purely because they’’ve been working that same job for many years now we don’t give people jobs in Canada based on their skin colour people get jobs based on their performance and wether they meet the necessary SKILL requirements for that job there are lots of other banks in Canada that have different cultural diversities so far I honestly just feel like your just shitting on my county and that’s extremely rude of you eh. I know it's not 100% safe in Canada. I've watched Murdoch Mysteries! ???\n\nYeah, when I moved to a city city, I saw the segregation. I grew up in a small town. I was friends with everyone. We didn't have a lot Indians and Africans though sadly. In school, with the exception of Asians, unless you're going by specific country, there was a token (poc) for each ethnicity in all the classes until roughly Junior high. So sad. We got rid of segregation in the south, but we didn't get rid of segregation in the country.

I think because America is such a big melting pot is the reason why we have these problems. If you made any other country as diverse as we are with a big concentration in small areas (like NYC) you do get big problems. It’s easy to say a country is safe when everyone is the same ethnicity, small population and same culture. \n\nIf you leave the big cities in America you do get the safe aspect. Some areas even near NYC i leave my car open with my wallet out and keys in the ignition. \n\nI think it’s also unfair considering we are number one in immigration and have all sorts of people trying to get here. If any other country was like us in that regard they would not be able to handle it.

welcome to the melting pot where everyone in the pots is separated like oil and water. sure we are all here, but we tend not to mix or if we do it is through a bunch of rigorous effort to try to mix and when it settles we just go back to what it was before. SO sad for sure.. definitely wish that was not the case and only the food areas were the separation for if you want greek, italian, indian, mexican, puerto rican. chinese, japanese, soul food etc. Coming from chicago I get to see all the different food styles and places but again it is so true that things are way different from canada to here. I guess I can't really relate to some of your experience in the states because I live in Indiana which I don't have to tell you is much different from New York and California just based on where it's located geographically and it not being a big name state. But over here there is a lot of inter mingling amongst all races. Like my work place for example, we have about an equal spread of white/black/hispanic people that work there and we're all just chill about it, everyone just gets along and we don't really clique up based on skin color. It's not obsolete as is with anywhere, but it's nowhere near the degree in which you described in LA. We don't have a fuck ton to do down here, but we have enough to where it's not a negative factor. And anybody will just talk to anyone about anything really, similar to how you described New Orleans. Plus compared to the bigger cities our cost of living really isn't bad at all here in Indianapolis. We do have a spacing issue like with many states, where you're looking at a 2 hour drive if ya boy lives in Fort Wayne but we just have a fuck ton of interstates that take you anywhere you need to go to make up for it. I live in British Columbia. In a city people consider “dangerous.” I remember I had a package delivered to my door. I was at work so I couldn’t go get it. I was imagining those videos I saw on YouTube of people getting their packages stolen within 10 minutes of it sitting there. But nah, It stayed there for 6 hours and never got stolen. Heck my workplace, had a package delivered on Friday evening and it stayed there outside until Monday. I was very surprised both times. I’m not saying that I’m living in a utopia, I’ve gotten robbed before, like everyone else I have my complaints. I think what really helps Canada is the smaller population. Less people means less people to rob shit. That tap water do be nice though.

Canada big ups. Definitely, when I have been to the states, the racial segregation was one of the biggest surprises. Being from Toronto, you'll legit have every culture within 1 floor of 1 apartment building. Then go to like Jersey, and not see a single black person in an entire neighborhood. I REALLY like the diversity of Canada, at least in the big cities. Happy to be raising our daughter here, we actually went out of our way to ensure the daycare we put her in was pretty diverse. \nNow, in our small towns, shit gets a little.... I don't wanna say RACIST per se, but definitely a lack of cultural diversity. Annnnd maybe a bit racist lol. \n\nBesides that, our Universal healthcare is definitely one of the reasons I am proud to be Canadian. It's not perfect, but Canadians don't even understand the idea of medical bankruptcy. Like, how could anyone be against the idea of having a system that gets rid of that? Because taxes go up? Like, we all get old and sick at some point. You DO get that money back with the healthcare you receive eventually, and in the long run, pay less per capita than places with private healthcare. It's like being against your pension. Makes no damn sense to me. \n\nLastly, I gotta throw a little shade on the overly patriotic nature of Americans. Like, the US makes great entertainment. They are a world leader in making entertaining shit. But besides that... y'all ain't so great. Your good, y'know, top tier in terms of countries. But not better in most ways than other first world countries. Worse in a few. Canada isn't perfect, but you don't see Canadians constantly claiming to be better than everyone else. It's such a weird flex, like, everyone who isn't from there knows it's not true. To confirm as an American. Yes, it seems like everyone wants to put hot sauce and cheese on everything and it's annoying. The tap water here is bad unless you get it from the fridge or have a filter. Here in Arkansas, I think our spring water is great.\n\nRegarding the city and getting around to restaurants and other areas, pretty much. A good portion of our factories are on acres of land. However, some are still close enough that you can walk to. I'm certain this is hardly different from Canada but we are 97% rural. People think of America as big cities but usually its the local town and a pumpkin patch. When Aba said America is like 40 different countries, he ain't wrong. \n\nFirearms is ingrained in our culture. That's a given. I see a lot of people mention safety and this is what I can say; I felt my safety was compromised by a tornado warning. Trouble can happen but if you don't deal drugs or do some under the table stuff, usually you won't be a victim of a crime. \nI'm planning on owning some land myself so I can shoot on it, farm, and raise a family. Just be independent.

The CBC is a huge issue in Canada. It’s funded ENTIRELY with tax dollars therefore the government decides what we watch, even if no one wants to watch it at all, and the CBC is 100% in love with the Liberal government and all of their news is blatant propaganda. Why not? The Liberals increased the CBC budget to 1.6 Billion a year of course they want to spin the news to help them especially when you consider the fact that many Conservatives want it defunded completely because they are tired of the spin. \nAnother issue is that some areas of Canada make the decisions for the rest of the country. Ontario and Quebec have large populations therefore when it comes to federal elections they basically always get their way even if everyone in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba disagrees. \nAlso, Quebec gets treated completely differently than the rest of the country. They have special deals when it comes to university tuition and child care, they have their own political party that no one else can vote for, and they force the rest of the country to have French all over the place and on everything which is mostly pointless and very few people in Canada can only speak French and can’t understand the English. The amount of crappy, unwatchable French TV/radio shows we outside Quebec have to pay for with tax dollars is beyond ridiculous.\nI know this comment will get hate especially since I mentioned Quebec which is a touchy subject.

Canadian Government should of seized his whole bank account and all his assets and homes and after he served his prison time, he should of been deported right away not be aloud back into Canada.\nHeck the Canadian Government seized protesters bank accounts who were in Ottawa to protest for freedom. \nI guess this Liberal Government only goes after those that oppose the liberals Government and if Liberal Government doesn't like your political views. \nBut everyone else get a slap on the wrist.

The comments are really touching. Being abroad in the UK it always felt like everyone was trying to escape to move to UK. Getting there teaches you different - just many small things taken for granted like big backyards, being able to own a pet or 2 without tax, the I cant describe it attitude of your own people towards you in diaspora. Its jus too much.
