What the computer test doesn't acknowledge is the difference between racism and familiarity. People tend to associate and trust people with which they are familiar and if you were white and born in a white town, you'll naturally defer to white people. If you were born into a black family in a predominantly white area, however, you'll have strong familiarity with both white and black. If you asked a black person born into a black town, I'd venture to guess they would also show preference for the black faces.

Perhaps the test is racially biased ?

while I agree that there is both subtle and overt racism in most, if not all cities within Canada, I feel like marketplace's 'tests' were rather circumstantial and reaching in many places.....

I just took the test. I'm from the Denver metro area.. and I have a slight automatic preference for African Americans. I'm white, and 1/16th Chippewa on my mom's mom's mom's side. Interesting.

CBC, I'm disappointed. You have to be aware that the Implicit Association Test is a flawed test. Do some research, and you will find that outside of the soft sciences, it does not hold water. It is not a repeatable test. Get one person to do the same test every day for 30 days. See how things change. \nAdditionally, that written survey is craftily put together to get what it wants. Just look at the language.

Enjoyed the video. I sent a message to Hannah but she has not returned a message. I was wondering if you or anyone who is reading this would give me some answers. I live in Canada, retired and am thinking of moving down to the US to live with my husband's sister and husband. They are going to buy a house in Sun City, Hilton Head. I was wondering Derek if you had to get someone to sponsor you or did you just move there? Have you since gotten health care, I was wondering how much you are paying. I read somewhere also that you have to take your drivers test, written and driving test since most states do not acknowledge Canadian license. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. If you or any of your readers want to email me, my address is copp12@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Unfortunately, in Canada you have to wait years for things you could have in way less time in the states IF you can pay for it. I have seizures every day and am on a two year waiting list to have the necessary testing done. Despite being unable to work enough to support myself due to the episodes, because they are un-diagnosed, I do not qualify for disability assistance. I pay for health care through taxes, yet cannot receive timely care, or assistance while I wait. There are definitely pros and cons to each system.

Your biology test question for today is? Which is the odd one out, a salmon, a prawn, a lobster, a crab, or a Pakistani run over by a bus? Answer the salmon, which is a fish. The others are all crushed Asians.

Anyone can pick out random verses in an attempt to prove the goodness of a book, - you can do it the other way as well Muhammad approve sex with children - (Quran 65:4). Muhammad forced people to accept Islam (Quran: 9:29, 9:5, 9:11, 2:189 (193). Mohammed massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. (Quran 33:50)\nThere are many more examples but the real test is if people do evil in the name of / gaining inspiration from their religion - which many Muslims do from Islam
