well there is trade with Africa, Asia, Europe, South America and Mexico that could bypass it all. If USA were not busy being Israel's poodle and guard-dog trying to make an American empire all over the world, much of it to serve Israel, then they could deploy their troops all over the border with their ridiculously large amount of law enforcement agencies and personnel (ICE, FBI, ATF, State Troopers etc) and stop all drugs and criminal gangs flooding in.

We as Americans can make the drug war go away. Just stop buying fentanyl and other poisonous substances. It’s supply and demand; if there is money to be made by fulfilling a demand, someone will provide. Don’t blame Canada or Mexico or China for our fentanyl crisis. We must support our citizens with the needed assistance to overcome addiction and offer assistance to prevent those not yet involved with fentanyl.

American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. Combined. \n\nFurthermore, Canadian trade with america account for almost 80% of all trade in canada. A 25% increase would be absolutely devastating to canada. In america its about 13% so a 25% increase would cost more but it wont have any significant impact.\n\nNo doubt this tarrif war will cause far more problems for canada mexico and china than america. By a LOT. \n\nI dont think america is being selfish either. China does nothing to protect america from sending precursor chemicals to america to manufacture fentanyl. Canada facilitates illegal immigration and fentanyl into america with no accountability. And mexico is illegal immigrants by the MILLIONS and is literally working with the drug cartels. Fentanyl is the #1 cause of death between the ages of 18 to 45 in the US. We are losing over 100,000 US citizens to this drug. Where are allies to help the US?

The drugs problem in the US is only the problem of the US. If there would be no consumption, there would be no drug smuggling. It’s like alcoholics blame their addiction to liquor stores and obese people food stores. The main question is why in the US so many people have such a bad life that they only can take it under drugs? It’s always easier to blame others for own failures.

This isn't about drugs crossing the border. This is about the US exerting dominance over their neighbors.

Here in México we know Mexican President Claudia protects drug cartels. Trump asks her to stop doing that and close the borders. Just two things.

Canada should set the tariffs 40 percent back until they keep the guns and drugs out of Canada also. That's been a problem for decades.
