There are only two things about living in Germany I could never adapt to. The more or less atrocious weather during seven months of the year and the crazy tax burden. I still feel robbed looking at the huge difference between salary stated in my work contract and the actual take-home pay. On top of that, consumer and energy prices are bloated due to abusively high indirect taxes. It's all the worse considering that in neighbouring Switzerland the tax situation is the exact opposite, without compromising government service quality in any way.

my family did the right thing with immigration years ago, we waited years to be legals, we followed the law of the land and assimilate with the citizens. how come the new immigrants can't do this and on top of that they received more benefits than the tax paying citizens.\ninsanity.

Immigration needs to be changed so that it costs Canadians nothing and actually benefits us. Currently immigration costs Canadians some where around $90 billion/yr in taxes and debt! Over the last 50 yrs immigration has racked up over $700 billion in debt that we have to pay back.

Don't blame the people... and blame your government policy. Government should brings those people who can help shape a better country instead of those refugees. The problem that I have seen is that - We accepted far more refugees than the genuine individuals. We chased investors/skills people away and we pay for those refugees with no background check and they lived on our finance system. Canada should look after their citizen first before dumping money into warfare(F35), Ukraine (a war can't never be won)...more dialogue instead of sanctions, lower the taxes so we all can live and pay affordable taxes. Better health care system where one don't have to put on a waiting list for a family doctor, waiting 8 mos or 3 years for a specialist. The system now is broken and will take years to be fixed.

Immigration is not bad. It ensures security for an aging population. It is supposed to make the economy stable through taxes paid by everyone. The young pays for the retirement of the older ones. Without worker, the system dies. What every country must do is to be stringent in getting migrants. It must be treated as beneficial to both.

Im old generations Canadian, banks wont lend to me for beeing Construction Contractor, i cant buy land, denied a family doctor and beeing single dad of 4 have to pay everything out of pocket. Meanwhile all housing we do beeing filled with immigrants with new vehicles and not employed. imagine coming to a country paying high amount of college tution fees (as the international students pay higher amounts than local ones) as well rising costs of house prices,taxes only to be cheated with a illusion of dreams. As a South Africa working in Germany on a skilled worker visa, it was not the easiest to get the visa even with a job offer and working remotely for the company for more than two years. \n\nI agree with the three points to improve.\n\nBut Germany is expensive, even if you get a cheap apartment and live on bread and one eat meat twice a week, it’s expensive, you keep on paying taxes or fines for things you don’t even know and or use.\n\nThe dream of living in a safe EU country is also becoming something of the past with increased violent crimes and the far right movement. \n\nMy plan was to save more money and buy a property in Germany, but on arrival I had to use my savings to pay for the massive deposit on an apartment and an over priced apartment at that. But housing is limited so you must take what you can get. \n\nThe “free” healthcare is pathetic in comparison to what I paid for private healthcare in South Africa, and I pay more for the healthcare in Germany than I did back home and you have less benefits.\n\nThe only reason I am here is as my home country doesn’t have employment for someone like me, and that makes me somewhat sad. But hence why I need to appreciate how privileged I am to be living in Germany.

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

For me as a German 28% taxes with an income of 63000$ a year, are seeming very low. Here in Germany you have to pay about 20% for social security + taxes. If you earn about 30000$ a year you have to pay about 10% income tax + 19% value added taxes + 20% for social security.\nIf you earn 63000$ you have to pay about 40% taxes + social security and value added taxes.\n\nBut when I did hear the costs just for rent, people in Canada have to pay, I understand that even 28% are hard.\nI am renting a 2 room appartment for 500$ in a normal town and I think from what I did hear, I would have a higher standard of living, even if I earn 1500$ after taxes a month, which is a low income, if you're working full time in Germany.\n\nAnd if I would live in a more expensive town or city, the country would help me with my rent, if I have a low income.

Why is the increase of foreign students an issue? We have an old dying population that is a burden on the health and social systems. These kids have to pay the enormous tuitions and pay rent and taxes to survive. They contribute 10 times as much as the Canadians each year. It sounds like xenophobia at its best. If I stay longer than six months, I’ll have to pay taxes, which would leave me struggling to afford rent and basic necessities like food. I’ve never seen bread and eggs as expensive as they are here, not even in Paris, one of the most tourist-visited cities in the world, where prices are much lower than in Canadian supermarkets. It doesn’t feel like Canada offers me protection—instead, it feels like a vacuum that’s draining all my savings. Before 2022, in Kyiv, I lived a far better life than the average Canadian today, with my own apartment, car, and the ability to travel wherever I wanted for vacations.\nSo I leave in October while I have some money yet. Coming to a country as an international student is often a route or excuse some people use to enter countries and then later decide they don't want to return to their country of origin. They than start whining about the new country is their home and they don't their country of orgin or they pay taxes and they should get to stay in the new country. This has nothing to do with requirements for acceptance to emigrate to a new country.

That is why Canadians who had been paying their taxes and are law abiding citizens become homeless coz they lost their jobs coz their jobs are given to foreign students and can't be able to afford to pay their rents and mortgages anymore. \nAnd it's very heart breaking.
