I came to Canada from India in 1969 - scholarship was $4000.00 per year paid be NRC. I lived comfortably and also was helping my parents back at home. Things are very very bad right now. I would not advise any one to move to Canada. Other thing is that racism has gone undergrounds.

Canada is full and can't handle more people, the infrastructure which was built until 90s can handle 50 people but there are 100 now. There are no opportunities - cost of living is the most highest on the entire planet, you'll lose a LOT of money. Economy is bad. The main reason why Canada is in the mess it's in is because they got people off the farms. Farming in every country is the easiest way to be self-sufficient and non-reliant on the government. I'm still not sure why anyone would choose living in a freezing cold iceberg half the year when they could live near the beach for a fraction of the cost?

We just can't build a wall for the whole huge Canadian border. Also, they are still crossing over the Mexican border state of the art wall/fence with ladders. The ONLY solution is to have a huge border patrol force that will be guaranteed to catch and arrest all illegal aliens. Then, the illegal aliens will be either instantly deported after paying a significantly large fine to the US Treasury OR if they cannot or won't pay the fine, sentenced to a dentention camp for a set length of time as a punishment, maybe one year of hard labor and minimalistic amenities-that is, NO MORE EBT cards, no more lux hotels. Once their detention sentence is completed, they will be quickly and efficiently deported to either their own country of origin or Canada or Mexico. IF it's done right, I don't think there will be many repeat offenders.

When I've gone into Emergency here in Canada, you first check in and then wait for about 10 minutes to go through triage. They ask you why you've come and go over your symptoms. Then you go back and wait again. I've gone in for pneumonia at least twice. Both times I was sent for a quick check of my heart (because one of my symptoms was chest pain). When that came out fine, I was sent back to wait more. After about 20-30- minutes I was called to come into a more interior waiting area. There I just sat and dozed for several hours. Once I was in and out in 3 hours, which was really fast! Generally I count on a minimum of 5-6 hours from entry to exit. But I haven't gone in with life threatening problems. One was an injured knee. I just know that if I have to wait a long time, then I'm probably ok! If I got in too quickly, I'd worry! But there was no charge except to rent crutches one time and for the antibiotics I needed to go and get at the pharmacy. \nMy brother's first child was born a bit early but was very tiny. He had to stay in the hospital for about a month. He was also born by emergency C-section. At the end of all this, my brother said that the biggest expense was their parking bill for visiting so often. That would probably have been about $15 per day.
