As someone who had to take the English assessment to attain the PGWP, I complained so much because I didn't come to Canada not knowing English, and I certainly did not graduate without the ability to read, write, listen and even present business cases in English. When I lived in Australia, their immigration office offers more than 20 languages and everything’s online and easy to contact, I got my visa within 48 hours. Germany is too lagging behind, if they don’t upgrade the system and attitude, it doesn’t matter what the policy is.

I can't understand how a language requirement is only now being applied. \n\nIf I was moving to somewhere where my language was barely spoken, or only spoken in a small corner of my new town/city, I'd do my best to learn at least a conversational level of the new country's language, even more if my potential work field required specific terminology and language... \n\nIt wouldn't occur to me to move to somewhere and not be able to communicate.
