Last time Trump was in power, he said he'd work on making it cheaper for Americans to get healthcare.\n\nWhat he did was make it easier for Americans to do what's called Health Tourism, and go to Canada for cheaper medication and healthcare.\n\nThis time around, he's claiming Canadians want to become American because we want the US healthcare system.\n\nIf that was the case, why would he make it easier for US citizens to go to Canada for healthcare and pharmaceuticals during his first term if the US healthcare system was better than the Canadian's healthcare?

The problem is throughout the Anglo World, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, we are allowing millions of immigrants from the third world, when in fact if AI is going to take 70/80pct of jobs in the future we do not need immigrants from the third world at all. The fewer people we have, the more wealthy we are. The other problem is allowing immigrants from non-compatible cultures of people who do not share our values, culture, religion, or way of life, they generally live in their own areas, speak their own language, and do not/cannot integrate into society, most consider themselves as Indian, not Canadian because like for instance in the UK where we have similar or worse problems, they can never be English, or Scottish, or Welsh or Northern Irish. We are not and never have been nations of ''communities'', we are Canadian, American British, and Australian, but we are all connected in our Judeo-Christian roots, values, culture, and way of life, the vast majority of these third-world immigrants can never be part of what we are. That causes resentment, even jealousy, and one day it will end badly

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. But in groups ( and this doesnt just include indians) you get this group thinking that is prejudice against anyone who isnt one of their own. Im fairly certain its a good demonstration of what a different culture would experience in their own country. We re all equal and you will not be allowed to position your selves in a way that gives you immunity to these values. \n\nIm getting really tired of going into business like tim hortons and knowing what the nationality of the owner is by just looking around at the staff who work in fhe business. But what is pretty evident is that a lot of these people dont like us and if it was up to them we wouldnt exist. They fail to behave in a way that acknowledges the truth. That the family whos heritage is of this land, built this house that your living in. With our low corruption goverments , our clean drinking water, our free health care and education system, with our opportunities that make it possible through merit and hard work that it doesnt matter what family or where you were born. These are attractive features of canada that play a role in why people want to come here. And leave where they were. Its it logical to think that you have more to learn about us then we do of you? Not being on some selfish punk shit is canadas greatest strength. Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. I know this isnt realitic but it would save them from what a lot of them are gunna end up be exposed to which is experiences with native born Canadians who are going to very rudly show you what happens when you disrespectf someone in their own home. \n\nThe party is over. I almost moved to the US with my parents when I was a kid but was crying because I didn’t want to go. I am so glad that we didn’t move there. We don’t want to go there for many reasons, free healthcare, a good education system because we pay our teachers well and have good quality teachers, we don’t carry guns and don’t want them, thereby our streets are safer. We don’t have mass murders, school killings and all that fear. We don’t have the racial and ethnic prejudice that there is in the US. I have travelled a lot for my company and personal to the US. I was scared and didn’t feel comfortable at all. We know so much more about US geography and history and the US knows nothing about us. Complete ignorance. Well I have no plans to ever visit again. I love our people, our freedom and our culture. We are nothing like the Americans (sorry). I am staying in my beautiful country! I feel safe and happy here! We don’t want the American dream, we are living the Canadian dream!

American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. Combined. \n\nFurthermore, Canadian trade with america account for almost 80% of all trade in canada. A 25% increase would be absolutely devastating to canada. This is going to hurt All Canadians and will extremely hurt Mexico. \nIt's only going to hurt yearly profits of 1% of Americans and those with CanAm's and anything Bombardier or Rotax. The automotive industry will just come back and have to eat the margin losses until they recoup. It's not just all the parties supporting Canada's counter tariffs. The Canadian people are in support, across political, cultural, economic and geographical lines. Canada has not been as unified about anything that I can remember (and I'm old). Plus, Canadians are a stubborn people with a more community oriented attitude than the USA and we don't like bullies. If we have to change brands of food, stop drinking bourbon and American beer, pay a bit more, even pay more taxes to cover the costs for people affected... so be it. BUT... when the tariff's are lifted, don't be so sure we'll just start buying American again. Stubborn also means we don't let things go easily.

F that. Canadians don’t need to retaliate. Mr Cheeto is a crooked old schoolyard bully and I for one don’t want to play his game. A lot of us Americans remember learning about the tariff wars in history class that ended up in deciding fair trade was the better route. The only thing I can see is auto sales are slumping and maybe they can blame this on the tariff policy for massive restructuring. \n\nI kind of understand wanting to negotiate with Mexico because they probably buy less American goods than Americans buy Mexican goods (drugs excluding) but I’m guessing Canada is a better customer of American goods than Americans are of Canadian goods. Why would you want to upset a good partner, customer, and ally!? It’s Beyond my comprehension…. If Trump was really smart he’d convince some factories to actually invest in Mexico with cooperation from the Mexican government investing in efficient transportation from the manufacturing sectors to the American border and the coasts for distribution. This would likely really help their economy and change the whole dynamic of all the things Trump has issues with. Fix it at the source not try to treat the symptoms.

As an American it feels a bit extreme, but all Canada has to do is attempt to fix their border, but your leaders would rather choose war. OK. 75% of Canadian exports go to the US while you only take 12% of ours exports. This will be a bloodbath. If Canada was a state in the USA, it would be the 4th largest economy. Was due to fly to Denver on Thursday for a short vacation. Immediately changed destination to Bermuda tonight. It's amazing that most Canadians have no clue that Canada has had tariffs of 300% on most US goods for ages. Adding 25% isn't going to do anything. This is a clear overreaction by Canada. So it's now 325% compared to 300%? Whut? Trump will now raise it to 50%. Look, if Trump raises tariffs to be equal to that of Canada, it's game over for Canada.
