In my opinion The longer stay of immigrants like 20 years they get pensions which they don't have in Canada and move back to their own countries I would assume those who are not on wait list to recieve canadian citizenship fro perminant residence status have no intention of staying in Canada in the long run ir they would be also applying for citizenship not just perminant residency status in my opinion.

Stay in your respective countries and leave your problems there. WE HAVE ENOUGH OF BEING THE WORLD'S DOORMAT FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS.

Republicans have 3 categories of immigrants: 1) white immigrants who can stay 2) the first black/brown immigrants to deport and 3) the rest of the black/brown immigrants to deport. They do not care to differentiate between illegal or legal immigrants. Hence why they are also discussing denaturalizing already legal immigrants who did what they were supposed to do. They. Do. Not. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

I am from Poland and I understand perfectly well the need to protect the borders and to deport people who have ILLEGALLY entered the country.\nThe only places to cross the country's borders should be border crossing points and airports. With the right set of documents to legalise your stay.\nNo exceptions.

Half of the people living in the country illegally are not being extradited back to their counties because their country will NOT take them back, these people are from China, Russia, India, (and others). There are also many who seek political asylum. A guy from my programming class told me his best friend's sister was r*ped by an Afg*n criminal and he's still out in their neighbourhood.

I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. Since it looks like he's on the way out, I better just stay put at least for now.

And another thing she don't realize is. They don't just come to your house and say okay. You guys get together and get your stuff. We're gonna put you in a bus and take you back to the border. No, they violently arrest you like your criminal. And throw you in jail for months sometimes years at a time waiting to be deported. And if you think you'll all be deported at once, you got another thing coming. The man might go and jump. The woman might go in July. The kids might go separately next year. If you don't believe me. I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

However, as soon as the hk pathyway people landed, they enjoyed the same benefits immediately as the locals(liked free education, local student fee for university, Child care benefits) which the locals felt were unfair. The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. It is reasonable to get a reward for how much they have paid and contributed, but it is unfair for those Hk pathway people to enjoy the same benefits as locals. \n\nThe hk pathway temporarily policy need to be amended. They shouldn’t receiving full benefits as locals while waiting for PR, they should pay the international student fees. Also, too many hk people abuse this policy, use fake academic qualifications to study, and then their whole family receives CCB , also enjoy local students is unfair to our locals. By the way, most of them after getting the PR they will go back to Hong Kong,they have no intention of staying here and make contributions to our country.\n\nThe HK pathway is a temporary policy. The immigration policy can be revised at any time just liked study permit has mandatory amendments and additional condition recently . The Hk pathway can also be amended.

Rather than staying in Canada and experiencing an uncertain career all Indian students should discourage to go to Canada..we have a lot more oppertunities in India..so lets not rush to Canada...

She has been trying to get her visa to VISIT the United States since my 10 year old daughter was a baby. Her next appointment is in 2025. It can be a very long and tedious process.\nPeople make it sound so easy. “Just do it the right way!” They have no idea what they’re talking about.\nMy sister-in-law doesn’t even want to move here, she just wants to visit her nieces and nephews and they make her jump through so many hoops.\nAt her last appointment, she answered a question honestly when they asked why she wanted to visit the United States, she said, “to visit my family.”\nThe interviewer told her, “ok, that is fine, but do NOT ever mention this again in any other interview. Say that you want to go to Disneyland or the malls or something. I sometimes wonder if closed borders actually work or make things worse. I think about workers who might go back and forth if it was easier are actually encouraged to stay illegally because it's so hard to get back in now.

Ive lived in Winnipeg most my life. Vancouver for a time. It was too tough in vancouver but winnipeg has been very chill. Also as a diabetic I'm greatful for healthcare I only pay for around 20% of my meds. We've talked about moving somewhere where rent is cheaper, meds are cheap and groceries are affordable. But I've never found such place...I stay because the people here are amazingly empathetic, yet very strong. Its sad to have a liberal government that have conservative policies for the rich. Itd be nice to vote NDP for something different.

Beeing a ex undocument imigrant from US, i desagree with the former director. You dont need to Chase down ilegals, you just have to shutdown their Bank accounts , requesting agencies to ask for proof of social securty number and and apply huge fines over companies that hire ilegals. Gradually, they wont be able to stay and leave. I am not saying i am in favor of mass deportation. I think there is a better way to fix the system and absorv their work force in to segments that demands their labor, but to deport them its not that complicated.
