I guess Americans don't understand how this affects inflation. Usually with virtually no unemployment the consequence is inflation(loo NAIRU). The main reason that doesn't happen in the US is those immigrants with low paying jobs. If those get deported prices will go up, either because they would have to pay more to American workers or, more likely, those sectors like agriculture would banished and importing good is more expensive.\nIn any case it will make the average citizen poorer

There's a piece missing in the puzzle. Has anyone asked where's Mexico in all of this? everyone seems to forget that they're America's southern neighbor, and they're not helping with anything to mitigate the border crisis. Mexico has to be sanctioned, because they're not actively partaking in the protection of the shared border with the US, they're allowing immigrants to cross the border unchecked, sparing themselves the trouble of dealing with them. They're throwing the ball in America's court, making immigration America's problem. Since they share the border with America, they have an obligation to combat illegal immigrantion but they're not doing that. They want to get rid of their crimnals and the poverty in their country not by enforcing the law and trying to invest in their infrastructure to enhance the living standards of their people, instead they're encouraging them to move to America to find a better life. America doesn't have to pay the price of Mexico being a failed country. They're turning their backs on their own citizens and trying to get rid of them, obliging them to take the perilous journey across the border where they're prone to crime, drugs, rape, human trafficking, sex trafficking, child abuse and all sorts of tragedies but to them the ends justify the means, and they have the nerves to call America racist and inhumane for not rescuing them from the situation that they created for them in the first place. Since the vast majority of illegal immigrants came across the border with Mexico, they should be deported back to Mexico, and Mexico can take it from there, not our problem anymore

I bet at first they'll only deport criminals, which nobody disagrees with obviously, and then after getting good publicity and approval, they'll start deporting just regular undocumented people, but overall I don't even understand how it can be possible because their economy depends on illegal immigrant's work as they pay them a lower wage, and aside from that its never been done before, people don't realize how massive of a project it is to deport millions of people

And this is what we call, a ladder puller. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. She seems to be fully aware that it can be a difficult process, and I personally have seen that it’s not exactly a fair one either. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

How stupid can you get? Trump will do everything he can, legal or illegal, to keep non-European immigrants from entering the country legally or illegally. He's racist to the core and too stupid to understand how many jobs immigrants do that nonimmigrants don't want to do. And did she say she was a citizen? Because if she's not, she's not safe either.

We got more of the same sh¡t we’ve had for 30 years. Walls. If walls work so well, then why doesn’t the wall that already exists keep people out? Fu€|<ing stupid use of our money. I worked at the southern border for 10+ years. I once watched someone drive a truck over a border wall with two thick boards on each side, which they just kept there for next time. It took less than 5 minutes. Because walls aren’t magical.\n\nTrump plans to terminate programs like birthright citizenship, DACA, migrant visas, green cards, military service….and he’s planning to deport people who were born here, have citizenship, but their parents weren’t citizens at the time, so he’s deporting them. IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE. But neither does Trump. Who, BTW married TWO IMMIGRANTS who were undocumented at the time. 4 of his 5 kids were born to an immigrant. Melania’s parents are here through “chain migration.” But, he’s taking that away now, too. JD Vance’s wife is of Indian descent. These are the 2 men who want to kick out immigrants. Undocumented immigrants contributed nearly $100 billion to the economy & social security in 2022 alone. They pay the same sales taxes we do. But they don’t have access to the social programs they’re paying into & they don’t get tax returns. WE KEEP THEM. But sure, let’s kick them all out. Any ONE of trump’s plans is going to cripple our economy anyway. \n\nThings are going to get really, really bad, guys.

And another thing she don't realize is. They don't just come to your house and say okay. You guys get together and get your stuff. We're gonna put you in a bus and take you back to the border. No, they violently arrest you like your criminal. And throw you in jail for months sometimes years at a time waiting to be deported. And if you think you'll all be deported at once, you got another thing coming. The man might go and jump. The woman might go in July. The kids might go separately next year. If you don't believe me. I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

International students are just foreign students. They are NOT refugees. The deal is they go home after school and only some get to stay here. We are also getting too big numbers of some cultures. The numbers should be balanced so a few cultures don't dominate immigration.

Preach Senora❤❤❤ As a Filipino-American and A LEGAL RESIDENCE OF USA, ( Not a tourist using a tourist visa ) i have to go back and forth to the US immigration office in Philippines, i waited for months, stand in line for long hours a couple of times , interviewed by US immigration counselors, paid different kinds of processing fees, even had a seminar what to bring and not to bring in the USA,and a complete PHYSICAL CHECK UP AND VACCINATED TO PROTECT AMERICANS before getting in US soil..these happened not in one day only,takes months!! And i am proud AMERICAN ❤❤❤?

We are not satisfied with the hk pathway policy, why can they enjoy the same benefits as our locals ? \nIn the past, people who applied to become a PR had to wait at least two or three years. During this period, they had to pay international student fees and then transfer to a work permit step by step, or join the investing immigration program, and then start to enjoy the benefits after becoming a PR. However, as soon as the hk pathyway people landed, they enjoyed the same benefits immediately as the locals(liked free education, local student fee for university, Child care benefits) which the locals felt were unfair. The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. It is reasonable to get a reward for how much they have paid and contributed, but it is unfair for those Hk pathway people to enjoy the same benefits as locals. \n\nThe hk pathway temporarily policy need to be amended. They shouldn’t receiving full benefits as locals while waiting for PR, they should pay the international student fees. Also, too many hk people abuse this policy, use fake academic qualifications to study, and then their whole family receives CCB , also enjoy local students is unfair to our locals. By the way, most of them after getting the PR they will go back to Hong Kong,they have no intention of staying here and make contributions to our country.\n\nThe HK pathway is a temporary policy. The immigration policy can be revised at any time just liked study permit has mandatory amendments and additional condition recently . The Hk pathway can also be amended.

It is very difficult to feel unsafe and get daily insult in a country you live, breaks down your health. Dont you see the way the way they treat turkish immigrants who built their collapsed country working in most difficult jobs after 2nd world war. I am an immigrant myself and we followed every single steps to become an offcial canadian citizen. It took me years to become a citizen. And I am not just talking about 3 or 4 years later, but 10 years later coming from a skilled worker.

Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. As a born and raised, WHITE Canadian, I NEVER had an issue with Indian immigrants, of all the immigrants to Canada, they were the most respectful, and the most willing to “assimilate” to our culture. I am Mexican, I went to College and worked legally in the US, and I am living in Mexico right now. I am totally against illegal immigration, but what I oppossed the most is the racism between Latinos. I can tell you that most of the people who treated me the worst were my own people. Latinos don't like other Latinos there and even less illegal immigrants, even if they were once illegal, 'cause they are not gonna take away what was so hard for them to get !! so so sad, I guess they are ashamed of where they come ???? and that's a big reason why they voted for Trump!!

Since the Canadian government thinks we Canadians born in Canada are all criminals, without a trial in a court of law to determine this, the Canadian government wants to replace us all with brown immigrants mostly from Iran. I guess the crime rate in Iran must be the lowest in the world. That's why most of the immigrants coming into Canada are Iranian. I am currently unemployed and am always the first to get fired while my brown coworkers from Iran remain employed. I really think it's time for affirmative action for Canadians born in Canada. The fact that we have so many people in the US undocumented and living here for decades tells us that our legal process is not sufficient for allowing people to come legally. When this lady came immigrants were still being welcomed. All you had to do was apply and wait. It’s not so easy now. Trump has spread so many lies and so much hatred that immigrants are hated. Regulations are draconian and will just get worse. Trump has said he will split up families and jail or execute immigrants if they try to get back to their families.
