Canada has a “marginal” or “progressive” tax rate system. Making more money doesn’t “bite you in the ass”. The higher tax rate is only charged on the money that is above the margins of the previous tax rate. The majority of what you make stays at the lower tax rate no matter what- unless you are an elite earner who makes so much that your initial income is only a drop in the bucket.

I have a crazy idea. How about making it affordable for people already living in Canada to have a family rather than shipping in immigrants from other Countries?

The government should provide more funding to post-secondary institutions if they want high quality and affordable education accessible to all Canadians. I applied and finally received notice that I can move to Canada as a permanent resident. Some of the videos I have watched (but not this one) have put a scare in me about my move - primarily about the future of the Canadian economy, etc. This video makes me feel better about my move and the recent election has made me realize that I no longer understand a good percentage of my fellow Americans. It has been, and will continue to, a very disheartening feeling that my US is, at least temporarily, gone, gone, gone. Regarding the homeless situation, my current American city is smaller than Ottawa by about 600,000 and the homeless problem here is probably quite a bit worse than Ottawa's.

I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. Since it looks like he's on the way out, I better just stay put at least for now.
