In general: All people are biased, in some form and magnitude. This is something built into our DNA, from millions of years of evolution and experience, of meeting, living and/or engaging whit other people. This is what I think. Do your test with white people in Indian reservations, in Muslim communities, and black communities. Then we can compare racism. I am sick of white people being branded racial without any comparison in reverse. My most racial experience was on an Indian reservation where both white and Indian were suppose to be christians at a prayer meeting. As you can guess I am mostly white. Plus, Do not blame companies who are targeted by a specific group of people. As a manager of a jewelry store years back, i had a great distaste of young men or boys, under 20. Why because I was targeted for gold chains, by them. Especially when they wore hoodies. Do not target whites only for racialism.

I agree with what you said about construction. Like you though it's also not for me and I prefer the office with a real washroom and kitchen. I'm in the construction industry but in the project management side. $40 / hour is common and I spend most of my time in meetings and at my computer and some site visits. I would say there is a big demand in the engineering and architectural side too of construction for those interested in the industry without physically working everyday on site. I do recommend obtaining an engineering license (P.Eng.) or PMP. I'm a P.Eng. and it helps open doors in this industry.

I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

Also, remember that there are good muslims, bad ones, extremists and decent muslims. Not all muslims have the same perspective on islam, it depends on the way they are brought up into it. Also, not every muslim minds if you criticize islam, as long as it's in a respective way, like say how a sikh may question christianity or vice versa. I am an international student from China and I living in Canada now. I have to say not all the local people who living in here are racists and some of them will say hi to me and showed their kindness, I also meet some racists but that will not effect my opinions to Canada because my family usually to praise Canada when I was a kid and I still can feel the warm the local people bring to me. I love Canada as a Chinese and I tried to be humble and smell to everyone I meet but some of them always looking for my trouble.

This is really simple. Don't offer people free stuff. And don't make special exceptions for people. There are tons of people that come to canada (many just visiting or working) and just stay here rather than go through the proper steps (and get denied) because they know some bleeding heart liberals looking down on them will offer a bunch of them amnesty if they wait long enough and pay off the right people. You don't have to live in toronto very long to meet people who have taken advantage of the system in this way.

Where i come from, i know people who work overseas for years and years leaving their families behind. A big sacrifice to make both ends meet but i think it is still a smarter way to leave them behind and send money than to take them with you and share the uncertainty of illegal immigration with them.
