As a canadian im going to the usa as a refugee. Fuck paying taxes for these immigrants. Ill take the free room board and job in the usa.

Its clear that immigration is boosting the far right. I don't want the far right coming to power in any civilized country. Ipso facto, I support any country who wants to take a hardline stance on immigration.

It is not the immigration policy problem.. It is the quality of people who are being considered for immigration (based only money now a days unlike in the past). In the 70s & 80s it is Ph.Ds, Highly technically qualified people around the world who were given Immigrant visas/citizenship... But these days, all junkies from war torn nations, third world criminals and their children (with money) getting into Canadian universities. Earlier, Universities used to conduct exams at off shore centres and select candidates but now a days it looks like Universities are bankrupt and ready to take in anybody with money thanks to agents of these education institutes( These agents make even a Donkey with money Qualify for university admission !) Those who get into these universities are more interested in all other things except Studies....So Quality immigration is more important than Quantity imigratikn. Hope Canadian Govt will take a critical look into this aspect. We xan not see developed cojntries having this anarchy on the streets on a daily basis.

Because some groups take over entire neighborhoods and buy up all the properties and become slumlords lowering housing quality while increasing housing costs at the same time. \n\nSome immigrants like to take over all the seats in coffee shops without buying anything leaving paying customers with nowhere to sit. \n\nThey have drastically changed the etiquette of this once great country.

It’s crazy how most people think that Canada is importing an army of workers !!\nOnly a small percent of the million that come in every year have work visas (in the UK it is 15% and Canada is similar). The large majority are students from developing countries who are looking to immigrate to the first world but don’t have a job, education or any skills. Then it is family reunification and refugees. We are taking in very few highly skilled workers.

Canada should take in just a small number of immigrants who are highly skilled and only if they are specifically needed - when they can’t find a Canadian to fill it. \nThe universities and bs colleges are making hand over fist while people from the third world, are using the studies to get easy access to our country and corporations love the cheap labour.

Starting 2025, Trudeau wants to take 500,000 immigrants ANNUALLY! That's why. It's a numbers issue, not a race issue. \nPLEASE DO YOUR JOB.

Of course immigration is the only cause of this crisis. Because of high immigration Canada's standard of living has dropped from 90% to 70% of the US because of immigration. Only elite workers contribute more than they take and immigrants dilute the benefits of natural resources.

So, it’s not the large increase in immigrants that’s the problem. It’s that we need to tax and spend more to take in large amounts of people who don’t owe anything to…when costs and standard of living have already noticeably decreased……..right

No housing and immigrants a taking over the jobs and the individuals here for many many years are having difficulting getting\nA job . Rent is way too high an individual person renting an apartment is tight on 3,000 clear a month because is more than half not a great but poor value of living

Who would be against immigrants who obeyed immigration laws, followed every legal steps and waited patiently, then worked hard and honestly after they came, and became a decent and respectful citizen? No one.\n\nWho should be against immigrants who abused the system, jumped the line and got into the country or stayed in the country, by filing fraudulent claims or simply went underground, then worked illegally, or simply undermined workers' rights by accepting less than minimum wages, or jobs which totally disregard regulations required by law? Everyone.\n\nAlso every country should put their own people first, which include legal immigrants who are already there, and secure their livelihood before taking in more immigrants.

I love immigrants, they're what make our country so special all the different cultures coming together. The problem right now is because of terrible government mismanagement we don't have enough housing or jobs for everyone already here. That's my only reason for wanting to pause immigration. It's like being on a life raft that's already full, you can't take more even if you want to.

The tenancy board is allowing this knowingly. Why do home owners have to follow different rules than the banks. If home owner doesn’t pay his mortgage, the bank will take his house in no time. The tenancy board does this to immigrant home owners more than to anybody else. They are forcing people to take law into their own hands.

How many immigrants are their home countries taking in?

A big part of the problem is immigration policies that allowed too many unskilled immigrants who had no or little ability to support themselves. Most legal immigrants before had sponsors who were financially responsible for the immigrant for ten years or the immigrant had skills or means to support themselves while also contributing to their new society rather than always taking and worse complaining about it

As a born and raised minority in America I see that the people who are born here are being taken advantage of by the ideology of endless diversity, it's great everyone is trying to be tolerant but don't take it too far, still retain an identity because any place won't be the same when there is too much change the people can't handle. If the population can handle lots of immigration, then nations can decide to benefit from immigrants and vice versa.

It’s not racism. Canada is a nation of immigrants. Immigrants are always welcome. The problem is that there is a housing crisis in Canada. Increasing numbers of of Canadians are becoming homeless and ending up in homeless shelters or in tents encampments. There is a belief by many that our government is allowing in ever growing numbers of immigrants while at the same time marginalizing long term Canadians. In addition to a lack of affordable housing, there are not enough jobs. My son, a university student, had trouble finding a summer job. Temporary foreign workers were taking jobs that Canadians would normally do. No wonder there is a def of resentment against immigrants. The Canadian government is at fault for mismanaging both our economy and the imm system.

It’s getting harder to live. And a lot of people feel cheated and threatened and they’re taking out their problems on immigrants

Listen I feel for migrants and refugees, but it’s also not the job of other countries to take them on. Most countries are already struggling to provide for their own people. This is why I understand why leaders like Trump say he wants to send back illegal immigrants. So much resources have to provided to refugees and migrants. It’s important for people to also push back and reform their own countries. If they are seeking refuge due to circumstances beyond any control, then it’s somewhat understandable…however, many factors need to be considered before taking them on. All country’s citizens deserve the priority first. So many countries are struggling and then are expected to provide for illegal immigrants/migrants :( it’s not fair to these countries.

Canada needs immigrants who want to become Canadian....Who share Canadian values. Some groups seem to have an issue with integration and shared values, take a guess!

immigration is the sold out left wings peoples way to please there corporate overlords. i am a hardcore union and labour guy flooding the work market with immigration workers limits our ability to negotiate for better pay meaning companies can take more.\n\ni am not against immigration in total to have growth in the west and fill in the birth shortfalls we need immigrants. but the amount the west has taken in is much greater than we can expect grow and only causes us to get homelessness and gettos while the haves struggles to raise wages. what the common man wants is reasonable figures of immigrations and due to the flood might mean the coming years 0 immigrants is on the table.

Man I love reading the comments in this video! We also face a similar challenge in other countries that housing is a crisis and governments keep bringing in all sorts of immigrants, from refugees to highly skilled people (like myself). I have switched 5 cities and the story either gets more worse or less worse. Half a year searching for a decent apartment? Some search for years! It's a full time job. The government gets back to my request after many months! Foreigners offices are packed with applications and citizenship is taking years long now. Getting a doctor appointment (psychological issues) within a year is hard, unless you pay from pocket or are in grave danger. We are being squeezed in here and they started new loose immigration policies to be more attractive to foreigners. Address the quality of life at the same time!

How about starting the protests when your countries take part in wars against us, destroying our countries?. That’s way you would not face any immigrants issues if we have peace back our home.

Landlords are taking advantage of supply and demand and over charge people. People I guess are saying F you! Were in a housing crisis and there are human rights laws . Peoples fundalmental rights under the code are being violated. I would say class action law suit against Canadian government. They increased immigration from 1x to 4x in a short period of time in a neglience way. I think Canadians are wimps compared to Americans...you know in the US everyone sues. Very different in that way. Here people just suck it up. Too polite and passive. Side note Look at line ups for fast food. Horrible service . No cashiers . You wait forever now and the funny thing is you see people just stand there all the time and accept the garbage service. Its hilarious. In the US people speak up and show feelings and emotion or just walk out. Here everyone is soft. At least every single time I have observed this behavior. Come on people we have to take a stand man. Stop being too polite and stick up for your rights.

Now in manipur (India) immigrants from Myanmar demanding their separate state by starting violence against indigenous people( meitei) by the immigrants(kukis). Thousands of meitei are being displaced, hundreds of lives has been lost. Our generosity has put ourselves in danger now and government is not taking any action. Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. Its value depends entirely upon the context in which it is taking place. Here are some reasons why Canada should reduce immigration to achieve eventual zero-net population growth.\n\n(1) The ecology: Canada is possibly the world's worst country per capita in producing waste – certainly among the worst. (a) As of now we have a population of 40 million. At its present rate of growth our population will reach 50 million in 2041. This will require a 20% reduction in waste production per capita simply to keep waste production at the present level. This reduction will not happen. (b) In addition, freshwater resources cannot be expanded at all, really (desalinization can only produce a drop in the bucket). Hence, look for shortfalls in water availability. (c) From a global perspective, it is the rich countries, such as Canada, that pollute the most, both absolutely and on a per capita basis. Therefore rich countries should not increase their populations. Immigrants do not come to rich countries to be better ecologists than the citizens of those countries. Immigrants to Canada want to live like Canadians, as Canadians. The problem here is not that they will not assimilate to Canadian ways, but that they will. \n\n(2) Housing: with 500,000 new immigrants a year, housing starts cannot keep pace. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

They dont take immigrants coz they are smart, we all should learn from them

When I came to Canada as student 10 years ago I \n- never planned to work part time when I was in school. I only made the move when I had enough money to live and thrive without off campus jump\n- I am SHOCKED when people say they aren’t prepared. Where is google buddy. \n- I was planned enough to not take up any low skilled jobs. Today I earn in 6 digits. \n- As immigrants we need to also accept Canadian values and not bring our crazy practices from back home. Grow up buddies.

Airbnbs are also still a problem even with revised rules. The issue is with our City Halls and their ineptitude. Stoking a fire about this BS is only going to bring more violence on immigrants so I hope you’re willing to be accountable for that.

Similar issues here in the US, only ours are pouring in over the southern border with Mexico. Hardly any speak English nor have any real interest to, as well as no interest in assimilation. They live in their own little communities surround by their own kind, 90% being illegal as hell. We have immigrant problems of the less legal type here. They just come on over. Parasites upon our welfare system, the left takes advantage of them as future D voters & to bulk up their delegates which are based on population. Look at the sanctuary cities. Overrun with crime. But when we ship them to marthas vineyard or nyc or dc, where these wealthy leftists reaide, then oh no suddenly theres a problem ? they dont want them in their own cities their own back yards. F'ing hypocrites. It really does give evidence to the great replacement theory. Look it up if you don't already know. Theres a very real reason for all this happening the way it is.

No country is responsible for people other than their own citizens. This includes Canada and any other country in the world. No country has the obligation to import people from other countries. If the immigration is beneficial for any country it can take place. Once it's not beneficial any more it should be stopped. Nobody is entitled to a free meal, a free meal can be given because of generosity, not because of any pressure or obligation.

I don't think this should be posed as a pro immigrant vs anti immigrant argument. Apply some logic and nuance.. Does a 50 seat restaurant take nightly reservations for 80? Does an aircraft seating 280 sell 500 tickets? Time to sensible and adjust numbers to fit our infrastructure
