Step 1 of assimilation. Learn english

To have, apparently, no English whatsoever after so many years does not indicate a desire to integrate. The (once) United Kingdom's seriously overburdened NHS spends 23 million a year on translators in 128 languages and many 'migrants' see this as an entitlement; indeed, it is a disincentive for some to even bother trying to learn English. This particularly pertains to many migrants from the middle-east and china and one Afghan patient whose family are regular beneficiaries of both the NHS and its translation services recently claimed (having been here for several years) that his wife (only in her 30s) would not be learning English because; 'It's too difficult' so for some, unfortunately, there is no will at all to assimilate. Housing and social security payments are, of course, part of the package and these individuals produce no net benefit at all either socially or economically and it's getting worse so spare me the bleeding heart rhetoric we keep hearing from mainstream (almost exclusively liberal) media. The BBC which is funded by the British Taxpayer cannot be relied upon to tell the truth or give the facts and continues to actively promote uncontrolled 'migration' so I think it's fair to say that they are fully facilitating the 'Kalergi Plan' and the decimation of the cultures and peoples of Europe!

Some immigrants respectfully submit to procedure, some don't. Others wander in claiming asylum, expect handouts, AND then live in a 'cultural' enclave where there is no assimilation, women are not allowed out, girls are mutilated, and have no claim to any children they bear. 10 years for only 86% of people to start contributing and/or speak the language... That is not a good thing. You had to go back to the 70's to find a success story too? What does that say about the current situation? Asian Canadians tend to assimilate much better than other groups and it took a group of them a long time to do partially do so. Only people with bad intentions or hiding some disabilities on their faces would cover their face like that in a western or free society. You can have more dignity by assimilating to the western world or you might prefer being rejected and segregated.

He would have been better off starting the LEGAL process of becoming a U.S. citizen 15 years ago. And maybe at least try to assimilate and learn the language. It would have helped him tremendously.

Canada should have never granted a visa to these people. They are a disgrace. They have no education on how to assimilate in other societies or other peoples values and cultures. \n\nThey are just religious servants who are naive and dumb. \n\nAll western countries should throw out religious based people. \n\nBut it’s the western countries governments that are to blame for this to happen.

multicuulturism isn't the problem in Britain for Sikhs, hindus, Budhists, jews or virtually any religious or cultural group you can think of. All of these groups are completely integrated into British society ,and for them and with them Multiculturism works. The problem is with Islam which is a monoculturist monotheistic culture that doesn't mix, doesn't assimilate but does everything it can to introduce creeping Sharia law and Islamic social structures into the host country to creat Islamic conditions wherever they can and have the expectation that we will be assimilated in time into their culture .This is the essential imperative of Jihad which they couldn't separate themselves from if they tried.And in this ,they are a little like the Borg. How can they be expected to assimilation into a pluralist culture is absolutely unislamic it cannot happen don't blame muticulturism ,its not the problem, the pressing problem is the MONOCULTURISM  of Islam. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.Instead throw out Islam send as many muslims as you can back to their country of origin and tear down the mosques.And then the rest of us genuine multiculturists can get on just fine together and become even more unified even more free even more fearless and less divided now that we have expelled the toxic element once and for all.

It's fine to have multi cultural as long those migrants assimilate themselves to the country they migrated to and drop their traditional practices.

Here in lies the problem, folks. This man was in the USA for 15 years, and he STILL has to give an interview in Spanish, when he arrives in yet ANOTHER country, whose primary language is English. Noticed that these people who have been here for many years do not bother to learn a language? What about the the Somalians for the other 350 languages that come here and do learn our language so that they can assimilate? People from radically different cultures, philosophy, and language are not going to get along very well in countries with histories of hundreds of years of a single unified culture and language UNLESS THEY ASSIMILATE. And SURE as hell don't enter my country ILLEGALLY.

Anywhere you go you have to abide by the laws and assimilate into Society. If you don't abide by immigration laws and do it the correct way you'll always be looking over your shoulder.

It may have helped his case if he had learned English from his kids as they learned it in America. It would show a willingness to let go of his past life that he ran away in fear of and assimilate.

So he spent many years in the US! His English is amazing! Shows how hard he has tried to assimilate, and maybe apply for citizenship.

Isn’t it interesting how Muslims seem to always want to move to Christian countries? The question is - why don’t they move to Islamic countries? So sick of this. How can you be in English speaking countries for that many years and not try to learn the language? I go to Mexico for a week and pick up dozens of words. No wonder. He isn't trying to assimilate at all. A drain on the system.gtfoh
