The US has a trade deficit around $1 TRILLION. So, this isn't anything personal against Canada; I think Trump wants to impose tariffs on ALL imports to encourage domestic manufacturing and flip the trade deficit. He's just using situations of importance to also gain political leverage.

We are proud to have Prime Minister Trudeau lead the charge against the bombastic Trump trade war. It is unlikely that our MAGA Conservative leader, Pierre Poilieve, currently supported by Elon Muskrat and many of Trump's cronies, could ever deal with a trade war that would defend Canada.

The reason trump can get away with it is, Canada, Mexico and China export way more goods to the US than we do to them. They're going to pay a lot more over time. Trump knows he has them by the gonads.

Canada and Mexico should trade directly with each other via marine shipping and bypasses the US altogether! Just saying

Negotiate before the tarrifs kick off... This fight would be counter productive for both sides, but Canada would suffer 10 times more.

Canada should add a 100% on Tesla and start importing Chinese EVs. We can import all we need from Asia and Europe, especially China for a portion of the price. Canada should also Cut the import of oil and power to the states and start selling to europe instead. That will teach Trump a lesson.

Always talk softly, and carry a big stick. Unfortunately, in this situation Canada is speaking softly but really only has one stick -oil - but they didn’t use it; yet.

Canada will not survive long in my opinion. Their economy will tank. US should be able to replace most of canada import from their own production soon.

Even if I somewhat despise Trudeau, *I definitely root for Canada* with regards to the American bully-tactics and megalomaniac Trump. Canada should move even more towards Europe and align itself with its European brethrens. A given strategic win-win decision. *Hail Canada!*

We should cancel the F-35 and P8-A and replace them with European and Canadian made aircrafts. Also Air Canada should be forced to cancel their Boeing orders and replace them with Airbus.

Canada will continue to trade with Mexico, the European Union, the UK, Australia, South Korea, India ( which is the worlds largest population) and the list goes on and on. Canada now has a new opportunity to create new trade relations, find trustworthy customers and build a stronger economy with diverse trading partners.

Canadian here ... I'm so very proud of our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Canadians stand united from the threat from the usa and are prepared to stay the course however long that is. Perhaps it's time Canada uncouples our economy from the usa and diversify asap ... We Canadians are already choosing Canadian products and boycotting all usa products
