Honestly it’s not that I’m completely opposed to immigration in the proper amounts but currently the were kinda eating a** in the housing department, so it feels as though we’re giving space for something that doesn’t completely exist yet, which is also drowning out legitimate citizens from being able to have affordable housing, therefore causing some sort of aggression towards people trying to get away from they own crap, but everyone needs housing and likes it affordable so it’s understandable. Maybe we could handle this sort of intake in like 30-50 years easily, but we’re filling a bucket that has so much going into it, I’m not knowledgeable on Canadian happenings to know all the intricacies. Though a layman could tell Justin Trudeau is a large contributor to this line of politically charged thinking that doesn’t really think about long term consequences.

it;s such a shame, i was in vancouver, bc for 1 month from sydney, australia and honestly the country and city is really so nice, i would love to move there but i really learnt quick that vancouver and my home city of sydney are twins with the economic downfall and cost of living crisis, also heavily taxed, and proof is on the pudding now with sydney and vancouver being direct 2nd and 3rd most unaffordable and expensive cities on the planet right now as we speak in 2024, such a shame

I honestly think some Canadians people have memory problems. 30 years ago Brampton was known as the town with the most Indians. Nobody complained. The cost of living and housing went up in the last 10 years and now all of a sudden people complain about something that has always been. The only difference is theres more Indian students. Its a student issue, not an Indian issue. Then you got white drugged up people blaming immigrants for their choices. Nobody forced you to do drugs. If you are poor and homeless this does not mean you turn to drugs. The land is vast, there are plenty of chances. Blaming immigrants for your failure is a classic gaslighting tactic that is just pure bs. The reason why crime and drug addiction is up, is because lack of government punishment for open drug use, lack of protecting the mailing system, lack of cracking down and normalization of drug use. You go to Dubai, An Arab city that has majority Desi people. Where is the crime where is the drugs? None. Everyone is happy. This is not an Indian issue this is a Canada issue.

We are the ones to blame for being naive enough to bring them in with any expectation that they will assimilate. You don’t think these groups talk amongst themselves and laugh at how absolutely easy it is to infiltrate, assemble on mass and push out other groups in key industries so they can run them? All you have to do is look at certain cities across Ontario and you will start to see a phasing out of Canadians and the native culture. As Canadians are we so gullible to believe we would get the same welcoming treatment and patience in their respective countries? Lastly do you people believe that the governments of the countries where these immigrants hail from would be worried about looking racist or xenophobic because they don’t care to accept us? I repeat it has nothing to do with racism here but we couldn’t and shouldn’t freely take in so many people anymore we can’t sustain this and we are absolutely gullible for believing otherwise.

They’re not immigrants but invaders , let’s be honest a large majority of them uses the student visas as a loophole to get PR , with little English or French capability / understanding , and they will never assimilate themselves to Canadian Culture .

Etobicoke-Lakeshore would probably be the one of the best ridings to get a broad range of honest answers about immigration. More would tell you #TheyHaveToGoBack. Try Belleville...they are more conservative over there. Brantford, Barrie, North Bay. All these cities have definitely felt it.

To be honest this is not just a Canada problem, I work in recruitment in Canada across from Ontario to Vancouver remotely from South Africa. Its pretty much the same here. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. I manage to save despite also studying still and working, and life, but if i was working like my peers jobs here. I'd still live at 33 at my parents. That a lot of people do. \n\nI think its an international issue. But the reasons like safety, winter and cold, religion, definitely look at asian countries for sure. \n\nWent to Vietnam last year, the level of safety was amazing there, if you could keep Salary from Canada and move to a country like that you can live extremely comfortable.

I visited Toronto and took pictures of the city. In my pictures, there was no white Canadian and mostly south Asians. I live in Australia and we have Indians here too. To be honest I don’t mind them. But Canada is another level. Where are the Anglo Canadians?

500,000 new immigrants a year, bring them on we have plenty of tents, parks, alleys and food banks for them to have totally miserable life just like the rest of us. To be honest the immigrants (truckers mostly, I'm a shipper/ receiver) I've talked to have told me that they would not recommend Canada to any of their friends and family, and that they can't save enough money to leave themselves. I hate that all indians get a bad image because of this. Most come just for opportunity, gujarati, people from Mumbai, and some honest punjabi's. But all comments I ever see about are related to uneducated punjabi immigrants that are causing the problems. People back in the day used to have to show competence before coming here, these days almost anybody can come. Honestly you should have to drive 10 years in Canada with a G class licence and safe record in order to get your AZ. I don’t think deportation is the answer but he should have had to do a longer prison sentence, 2 years community service, never be allowed to drive that class of a vehicle and wait 5 years once released to reapply for a drivers license. Too much tax dollars already spent behind this man. The real victims will never have a voice and their families will never have closure.

South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture.
