I know I might seem like an asshole but,\nWith so many school shooting going on, i think this type of reaction with somebody carrying a weapon is normal and should be encouraged. There is a rule prohibiting sharp objects and still this young man brought his kirpan, I think formal permission should have been taken by him. Completely valid response and hope the institution and religion have some sort of agreement and sort this out in a mutually beneficial way.

I mean i agree. Although US is not a place to live with every other day school shootings. You need not carry all 5 of religious symbols. Arresting is not right, but neither is carrying a kirpan to school.

you can make more money in the US than in Canada, However Canada's government \nrespects different cultures, \ngive more freedom, \ngives free healthcare to the rich and poor citizens,\nand avoid mass shootings.\n\nPerfect place for kids and very old but not so for healthy and middle age people.

If you already used to life around friends and families back home Canada is not for you. Quite frankly Canada is for natural born loners.\nFact, You will definitely feel more at home in the u.s than Canada mainly due higher immigrants population.\nIf you moved to Canada as a teenager or was born by immigrants parents then Canada is for you. Tax shelters are not a good thing… Why do you think so many Americans feel angry at the inequality? Why its bridges are crumbling, yet companies like Apple have more cash on hand than almost all countries? Angry white people shooting brown newcomers is a real problem. Balance and social stability is an important effect of those higher taxes.

Many of the same reasons would also apply to the US. I think getting your citizenship/passport is important so you have the option to return if you decide to leave. I lived in Canada but currently reside in Florida. I don't miss the long winters but I like the summers there. I think the crime rate and health care costs are a big plus in Canada. We have Miami beach but frequent shootings there have kept me away. So it boils down to an individuals choice.??

Can't live outside the rocky mountains range. Winter is the best, tons of snow, -50 celcius is not a problem(ok, it may be for those who work, but I am retired so I don't care at all).\n\nI really don't like about how you report quality of living thru crime, when in fact, violent crime is about 1%, which is absolutely nothing(1000 crimes/100 000 population), since it includes breaking in, arson and other type of crimes of the same type, not all are rapes or murder, but it does includes them. It also affects a lot of organize crime groups shooting one another and not directed toward innocent victims. There is also a significant part of ''crimes'' which are alcool related which otherwise would not be commited in a sober state.

I'm from Ontario and imo it's just as bad as ppl say the USA is there is tons of gun violence especially in Brampton there are drugged up ppl in my town there Is even a street where there are always ambulances bc there are stabbings and shootings bc of crazy drugged up ppl \nI don't even feel safe going downtown or for a walk especially at night also the costs of living is high and the Healthcare is trash

Not sure how Ontario made it to #4. Here's a realistic description: Unaffordable, ugly, boring, overcrowded, very stressful, you need to work 80 hours a week to afford your $8000.00 mortgage or rent, worst restaurants, clubs, shopping and entertainment, crime is shooting through the roof, a developers dream so little urban or suburban green space. Yes, anything in northern Ontario is nice but it's quickly all becoming a hot mess. People are nasty, really really nasty and only care about their own lives, cars and houses...one huge competition to the finish line here. We just bought our retirement house in NB because we decided there is no way we want to retire in Ontario!

Some things about Nova Scotia I think should be mentioned: \n\nJust Halifax and the south shore has mild weather.
