Imagine have a million immigrants coming in with a country that has a population of 40 million.\n\nThe infrastructure comes to a stand still, housing is ruined, food inflation begins. \n\nHonestly thanks to Diploma mills, Asylum seekers and gangs from Punjab, its honestly gotten bad from the Indian perspective. I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Why their kids achieved higher education without any loan because their parents worked 7 days without looking around so called culture. They believe in work hard and focus on their family and kids and in extra time visit temple or Gurudwara just to keep live their believes. Do you know how many places where you find 3 times free hot food for everyone in Brampton at Gurudwara and Temple without looking at his originality. \nDon’t think the immigrants are coming here are poor in their country or helpless like refugees. Most of are millionaires in India but in Indian culture the stupid thoughts is to earn for next 7 generations so because of that greediness they work here 7 days and that’s why they are not homeless. As they have some values of their Indian culture they have not drug addictions.\nNot 100% Indian are good and loyal or honest. There are few which you can find in any culture or religion.\nSo in bottom line immigrants are here because of govt policies and invitations. They are not came as refugees. You can’t forced anyone where they have to stay and in how many percentage. Many people don’t live in GTA or ran away from GTA because they can’t afford house and can’t stand in competitive market. (Assuming a min $40-45000 per student for 2 year diploma, between to $100,000 - 150,000 for undergrad, and around $50,000 for Masters degrees). Usually, international students have to pay most of this money before applying for the study visa. \n\n\n2. These colleges employ Canadians for their day to day operations. From cleaning, maintainance, administration to teaching, each college operates with approx 20-30million budget. So, more students lead to more employment for Canadians who further pay taxes.\n\n\n3. All students start work straightaway, pay taxes, and do not qualify for social security. They do not qualify for any student loans by Canadian govt or banks. So, they generate revenue for Canada through their work and taxes. The thing that govt LOVES.\n\n\n4. These students become new consumers and their expenditure generate revenues for local businesses.\n\n\n5. Most Colleges would not survive without international students. Which is good in the sense that only quality colleges will survive and other hanky panky colleges would shut down. However, such closures will lead to job losses, bankruptcy when the colleges won't be able to afford their expenses.\n\n\nSo, considering these factors it will be an industry collapse. Govt needs to control immigration. They need to introduce intelligent policies. The steps that current govt is currently taking are politically motivated not rational.

I am a German born, Germany raised second gen immigrant. I am almost 30 now. To this day, I do not feel as part of this country. Why? Constant discrimination, being treated extremely poorly, lower chances at anything really, bullied and abused since infancy. I am very highly educated and skilled throughout various domains and tried to achieve the best I can. If I work in Germany, less skilled people will do everything to sabotage me, due to jealousy. People just waste your energy and time constantly for their own insecurities. I have left some years ago and will never come back. Germany will end itself and I am sitting to watch it!

I heard on my visit to Canada earlier this year for vacation the same thing, BUT you talked to Canadians who were obviously unemployed/with no skills and homeless (at least it seemed like that, my apologies if that was not the case. All immigrants should respect the local law and do not impose their culture in adopted land. I believe that Indians come to Brampton because they find their own kind of people there and feel that they will not feel any racism, mind you it happens everywhere. Racism in parts of Canada is very much there. \nI stayed in Toronto with a friend and noticed almost 99% of tenants there were chinese, and no one was speaking English. Now if you do the math they inject about 3.6 Billion dollars every year! Which makes International student one of the top 10 source of revenue for Canada! My experience has been different. Came at age 48 with family mostly for children future. Initial struggle followed by more than 20 years full time work in a company owned by Canadian but most of us working immigrants from different countries. Had a wonderful experience working as a team. Company grew from 5 including owner to about 30 when I retired. Most of of my contribution was from skills I obtained on the job. The flexibility I got was help to spouse and children. The three of them achieved good outcomes. Taxes are high. I never worried about that as children had professional education with no financial help. Only my steady basic facilities provided as I had steady though lower income than what I had back home in relative terms. What we get back from taxes we pay in health civic facilities education for children is great return of taxes paid. What I got was quality living. No luxuries. My purpose of coming here more than fulfilled. Happy family. Grand children now enjoying higher quality of life than what I had or my own children had. I do notice recent trends of immigrants expectations not very encouraging. I have enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere friendship and regard for each other. My colleagues and I have been of great asset to the company we worked in.
