The brain drain is real... My education was mostly paid for by the govt through scholarships and what not... but within five years of graduation I was being offered jobs south of the border that literally doubled my wage. Even if you don't like the U.S. its hard to turn down that kind of salary difference, especially early in your career before you have a family.\n\nAnother thing that was only partially touched on in the video is how many Canadian start ups get bought up by companies south of the border, usually at a discount. It amazes me how few incentives there are for successful innovators to get up and running that it takes such small amounts of VC money to buy big parts of their companies compared to their U.S. counterparts.

while I agree with a lot of this video theres one crucial aspect this video neglects and same with the commenters here.. POPULATION. \n\nCompared to countries like denmark, sweden, japan, france, uk, etc. we have a much bigger country to maintain landmass wise. Infrastructure. USA is similar but they have 10x the population as us. Our population in canada is pathetic. Problem is everyone stays in ontario or BC which is stupid, im in sask I want population. Another thing about infrastructure is our climate. We have such drastic events in our climate across our huge country that takes a toll. Climate problems with our low population is not a good thing. I mean most people outside canada and even within Canada dont believe me but Saskatchewan goes from like -45 to +45C with windchill/humidex. Our forests are on fire often, that is not normal. That costs so much money to fix as well. In summer sometimes, Nunavut or NWT will be warmer then here, we talk about it here when it happens. Think about that. Weather is HUGE in saskatchewan. We talk about weather daily. I never realized until internationals pointed that out that we are obsessed with weather in sask lol. \n\n Our housing market is a joke and I agree we need to invest more in buisnesses but at the same time we need affordable housing, we are in a weird spot. As far as working etc goes people commenting here lol the golden years of the 80s are gone old timers, my parents realize this that you guys were spoiled in one of the greatest time periods in human history - post WWII boom and the effects. I could go on and on how the 70s-90s were one of the best time periods in modern history for various reasons but I wont. There are problems internationally, we live in a globalist world. We still have it good. Go travel and make international friends. This is nothing that we are dealing with at the moment. All I will say though is leave the huge metropolitans like Toronto and Vancouver. Everyone wants to go there because they think 'theres more opportunity' ugh. Theres opportunity across canada but if everyone things like that there will be problems. The idea of Ontario or BC is just a big nope for me (although I go to BC every couple years, love it there I would not want to live there).

There is absolutely horrible living in Canada. The country is so freaking cold. Home prices are ridiculously high. It takes 20 years or more to save for a 20% down payment on the purchases of homes. High income and consumption taxes make it impossible to save money. Rents are 2/3 of an individual's monthly income. Food costs are very high due to recent inflation. Most Canadians are unable to pay bills more than $500. Yet, Canada wants to attract more immigrants by promoting this country as a nice country to live.

I gave up on working in Canada. With a marginal income tax rate of 53%, generating (self)employment income isn't worth it. So I have switched to only passive income streams. I have other highly educated friends who have vastly scaled back their active work activity in Canada, or who have moved to the United States, due to the immense taxes on employment income in Canada. Not only do Americans make more money, but there are many states with no state income tax, which also equates to much higher take home pay. My wife and I have already laid the groundwork for a move to Florida, with the purchase of a home in that state.

Maybe instead of Mexican tryna storm the u.s border, they should storm the Mexican capital or whoever is in charge & has the power to make a change instead of forcing themselves on america & taking our jobs & money just to send it back to Mexico where it becomes way more.

Thank the Democrats for letting this happen. We cannot support the people we have now so how are these people going to get the help they need? I guess these liberal cities can keep taking them in since it's their policies letting it happen. I guess if these cities get tired of footing the bill maybe they will stand up and say something to their leaders and tell them enough is enough. Countries in courage this so they can get employment in the US and send cash back to their families back home. These ladies are learning about tax and spend liberalism. There is NEVER enough tax money. You take Quebec that has the highest taxes in North America. They also run the weed sales, the casinos, and all the alcohol sales, and they are still deep in debt. Whatever you are paying in taxes is never enough. Over 300,000 homeless veterans wander the streets searching for food and shelter currently. Dying at an estimated rate of 22 a day due to self inflicted harm….the system in place to take care of them and provide comprehensive medical care is crippled and broken….every SINGLE ONE of these men and women has a head full of bad memories and experiences from defending their country in war (some missing limbs)….can’t hold a job and have trouble finding a job….NOONE is making substantial and reinforced efforts to care for these brave men and women. Yet, if you cross that border illegally you’re given shelter (free stay at 5star hotels in NYC sound nice)…comprehensive medical care…food stamps and even job placement for some. And in some cases, we’re providing that help to individuals who are simply making a pit stop between Mexico and Canada because it’s better for them there according to some. Frankly, we have enough issues that are swallowing us whole and need to focus on building up and caring for our own citizens and force stop mass migration, strongly enforce deportation as well as employing more case workers to help with legal immigration process. We spend all this money sending to Ukraine and yet here we are, cutting our own throats to save someone else’s hand. I have no issue with legal immigration and asylum but you need to go through the process like those before you. I know this is asking a lot but it IS possibly to make it work

If you look at the numbers of all the worlds poor, then look at the American square miles, and budget, we simply do not have the room or the money to take all the worlds poor. We already have a problem where people are bullying farmers to sell their producing land at a cheep price. I’m not trying to be disrespectful to anyone who comes to Canada but if you’re coming here legally, you should be arrested and charged but I also got a question. How are you going to take care of yourself food here is expensive rent is expensive utility bills expensive everything here is expensive, so how are you going to support yourself if you’re coming here with no money no resources it doesn’t make sense to me where the rest of us Canadians who live here are already struggling with high taxes. The high cost of living here is not any better than the USA so what are governments going to hand out free money to you every month give them a hotel to stay in give them free food is the taxpayer is it gonna end up paying for all of this? This will ensure even if something happens and you're out you're able to shelter in place \nUnderstand how to take care of medical emergencies at home. Remember that in a major event, ems could be down or unavailable for sometime. While this is never the first line of defense in an emergency, understanding how to manage medical emergencies (high infections, deep wounds, pneumonia, asthma attacks, shock, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, poisoning, radiation sickness, torn ligaments, allergic reactions, excessive bleeding) while you wait on help can be life and death. \n Food, water, temperature control are your highest priorities. If faced with a major event where services are limited for more than 3 days, having stored food as well as a way to cook, a way to filter and store water, and a way to keep yourself cool or warm can be life altering. \n\nPlease remember as we are entering or for some of us are already in uncertain times, having this foundation gives security as well as lowers stress. It allows us to feel more in control and gain a more positive perspective on not only our lives but the world.
