Sounds to me like we need to build an international jail that houses international criminals. Can't send them back to the country they came from, cant send them to the country they are a citizen of and cant sent them back to the country they were birthed in... okay fine.. international jail and let the whole world share the cost.. this might make neighboring countries take action to stop from having to pay more to jail more people. I experienced seeing some migrants going from that Plattsburgh gas station on that bus line this year. I didn't think about it cause there's such a large int'l population in Montreal. But looking back, it was a little weird seeing foreigners waiting for a bus in a smaller city across the border. ? And Canada's visa/permit offices are a joke. Visitors and migrants get their asap but people waiting for a work permit have to wait at least 6 months or a year, even for US citizens

Many of these migrants already have a house, job and safety in their own countries. I Feel like the 'cartel' story is overly used to make seeking asylum easy. Spousal and children of US citizen visas should be getting priority ahead of all other immigrants, especially illegal immigrants. In NYC, migrants from South America can go to 800 2nd Ave Manhattan and go up to the 2nd floor to the Embassy and get papers filled out, get a passport, get your reloadable debt card, medical, schooling, housing voucher and live like a king for a few months. Over 200 line up every morning here and several hundred a day go through to get this. Can we be mad at the migrants, NO. Though I can be mad at the government for allowing and promoting it. When I got leukemia from the job the utility company fought Workers comp and stopped my pay to starve us out. I ended up homeless with a wife and 4 children. All social services in NY could do was offer us $13 a day per child for food allowance and nothing more. We couldn’t even get Medicare. The food allowance was only for 7 days. It’s a disgrace how citizens are treated. Come here illegally and they offer you the world. These politicians need to be voted out. Social services was developed to help those citizens in need and it’s not happening. People need to realize that government contractors (usually family of politicians) are hired to help these “migrants” . These contractors even from the UN are in Panama helping migrants get here. If you research it you will get angry for sure. My elected officials in Northern NY know what’s going on and are behind it, they don’t even hide it.

Unskilled US citizens will be hit the hardest. The overall unskilled labor market will keep getting oversaturated to a point where it will be extremely hard to sustain themselves. I wish I also got 1400 a month, free food, free housing, free everything. Hell, I work full time to pay my taxes and my bills, while supporting my elderly mother and disabled brother. In 2008, I had to choose if I wanted to remain in the US legally, or return to Europe. I am so glad I chose the latter. But I can see how for the Asian and Mexican migrants, the US might be an opportunity. So, New York offers free housing to migrants, while the US citizens can not afford rent. Good job, Murika!

I am an Indian. We too get illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries thanks to uncaring politicians but what's happening in the US is madness. It's an insult to citizens and those who migrate legally.

WOW! Sorry Cash but American are VERY undereducated about Canada. This has been going on for years on the boarder. It just up - ticked in the last couple. One of the problems here is we have ZERO vacancy rates , which makes it worse ...we have nowhere to put them, Then there's our foreign student problem which is very complicated and involve CON MEN in India , who have contacts/ family here and work the system. Up to and including helping them get drivers permits...illegally. There's all sorts of loop holes , how we found out about the drivers permits, why traffic accidents became more frequent of course. Then there's the fake colleges they set up and yeah the student gets a minimum wage job and lives in a house stacked with ppl in the same boat as them. Then find out they being rooked and stay with no education or if they do get a legit school they can't stay here and become a citizen because they can't find work in the higher professions ( doctor ) because the system is screwed then they move back home with a good education and leave us with gaps in our medical system. It's complicated and won't be solved anytime soon on either side.

The percentage of people fleeing their countries due to persecution is so slim it is not worth talking about. The vast majority of illegal aliens are criminals intent on committing more crime in the USA. The mindset needs to change. If you apply for a us visa they also don't give any reasons for denying your visa application. There are sign boards put up in the US visa office that say funerals of near and dear ones are not valid reasons for emergency visa. These ppl in the video may be of indian origin but are us citizens. Don't think the Indian official has to justify why their visa was denied

your argument is false. US has one of the most efficient health care systems in the world. The problem is that it's a for profit system which denies access to approx to 40% of its citizens and it's cost prohibitive to many. In Canada, our health system is not efficient but it is affordable and universally available to all citizens. Most developed countries except US adopt similar universal models and it works.

Greed will destroy us all, if the resources are more valuable than the citizens of the economy that provides and produces these resources then what does that say about our social/cultural values as a society or humanity as a whole.

I know a refugee family who both mom and dad aren’t working and has 3 little kids. How they survive in Canada? Money from child tax, pension money because dad takes care of old relatives (actually the old folks were just barely living and in exchange of looking after them the dad receives their monthly benefit), and selling the property of the old folks. This cheating family has now been able to rent a large home and able to travel in Canada and the US, (they have become Canadian citizens recently) without mom and dad working! And the old relatives, they dont live in the large home and aren’t included in any of their travels. Mind you, these old relatives were once working, responsible residents of Canada and helped the refugee family come to Canada because they are blood related. LESSON HERE - be careful of family that will take advantage of you when you get old, especially when you have pension and properties. Be careful who you trust! The nerve of the refugee dad!
