Australia has an almost identical situation as Canada. Ludicrously expensive housing, banking, cost of living, lack of competition in supermarkets/banks/airlines etc. \nI live in a OK-nice home in an OK area and my house would sell for $1.6M. Canad shifted from heavily Northern European immigration in modest numbers to enormous asian immigration in a few decades. It also seems that Canada taking educated, skilled migrants from countries with thriving middle class populations
