I live in Calgary, Canada and every single time I went to the USA, it felt like almost the same country. My parents and I think the biggest differences are the natural landscapes and climates in some parts of the USA. We have been to 19 or 20 countries depending on how a country is defined.

I have been living here for 28 years (that’s most of my life, I came her as a young child). My sister’s and I have experienced first hand racism due to our hijab in elementary school, high school, after 9-11 during job interviews (myself and my brothers due to their name being Muhammed). Over time things have gotten better alhumdolillah but racism exists everywhere and many have experienced it. Where there are people that use racial slurs or acts of discrimination etc, there are many more that will support you and guide you. I love Canada and wouldn’t live anywhere else but to say it’s not there and every case is dealt with the way it was dealt with our London family, is not the case. If it was, what happens with them would not have happened. May Allah help us treat one another with tolerance and love as Islam intends it to be. Once again thank you for creating videos like this to help our fellow Pakistanis.

Or accepted practices if you will. \n\nSpecialist appointments. \nWhat is likely to happen you go to your Family Doctor and he makes a judgement. \nDoes this person need to be seen by specialist how urgent is that need. \nYou then set up an appointment for three to four months down the road. \nYour likely not picky so you accept anytime. \nThat’s where you make the mistake. \nYou make the appointment for the first appointment of the day or as early in morning as you can. \nWhat happens then Is you will find you are out within 4 hours. \nThey like to clear their morning schedule before they take lunch. \nSo say your appointment is for 11. Because of backlog they get you in for 12. \nFinished up morning appointments by 1. \nThey then take there lunch. Which means they are two hours behind starting the afternoon. \nRough idea of what goes on but you get the idea. \n\nTwo. You hear it every time you call a doctors office. If this is a medical emergency call 911. \n\nIf you need an appointment with specialist because something is wrong. \nFor instance need to see Neurologist because of seizures. \nYou can go to family Doctor and he will set up appointment for 6-8months down the road. \nOr you can go to emerge snd be seen by Neurologist usually within the day. \n\nThey expect you to do that if you are in distress. \nNot in the brochure perhaps but they tell you to do it. \nCall 911 if this is medical emergency. \n\nSo whether your having heart palpitations, seizures, or just don’t know what’s wrong with you. \nThey expect you to go to emerge if you are in a bad way.

Compared to Argentina, Canada doesn't seem real yet it is lol. I'm doing my own research about where to move because almost every corner holds something special for me and I really don't know where to go. I still have time to think though

First of all, you have an open Best Buy, that’s scary in itself. \nSecond, every Best Buy that I’ve been to that sales people are so bored that it’s like when they see an actual customer they all get excited. I’ve been asked multiple times of i needed help, then they tried selling me stuff i didn’t want.\nBest Buy isn’t a good example, sorry.\nBut i get the trail of the story. It happens and continues because of stereotypes and people not willing let be people be people.

Without proper guidance and coaching it is tuff to get dream score. I am a white female, have been followed in stores and told once that I have come into the store too many times in one day. Every time I was in the store I bought things. They wanted to know why I was in the store soooo many times and why I did not buy anything. LOL I went to open my purse and they jumped like I was getting a gun out, pulled out all my receipts. I told them I would gladly tell the large church I was stopped because I shopped too much. LOL

JUST CALL THEM NICELY AND ASK THEM QUESTION OF EVERY PRODUCTS THAT YOU PLAN AND DIDNT PLAN TO BUY. WALK AROUND FOR 1 HOUR AND WASTE THEIR TIME AND MAKE THEM CARRY THE ITEMS FOR YOU, THEN ONCE YOU REACH THE COUNTER. SHOW THEM YOUR MONEY AND YOU DONT WISH TO BUY ANYTHING. Talking of fallows in store it happen in UK where we moved to small village, my 2 boys were in the small corner shop and the owner always fallows them, that’s happened every time they were there but not with other white kids that was their friends. So when I heard about I went over to have a words with the guy! And never went back to that shop ever again until he sold the business to a bigger company!!

The tax in Canada is not very high. At least compared to many other Western Nations. \nI came from Germany to Canada and the tax in Canada is a joke me according to me. Income tax with social contributions is roughly 42% even on average salaries in Germany. Sales tax is 19%. Cost for energy and fuel is almost ten times higher than in Canada.\nSure, Canada is pretty expensive. Housing, food and medication are massively overpriced compared to many at EU countries. I need medication every month and in Canada I pay roughly 180 Dollar while in Germany it was zero. Even without the health insurance I would only pay 30€ a month for that.\n\nOverall Canada is good, but doesn't necessarily offer a better quality of life. I only live here because I like Canadian people and the mentality is great.

I am white. And I have been targetted several times as a potential theif. Including one time going to Superstore in pjs and my pic was posted as theif. And my husband worked there (he's black) and told them to take that picture down. My white girl friend worked for Superstore and had her bag of laundry to take to her mother's house after work. The security guard . Ripped open her bag and threw her laundry every where. I have been targetted by Walmart security. (they weren't white). I have been targetted at several stores who aren't white. So. I always ask for my Receipt. They ask if I want it. And I say yes cuz I don't need them thinking or accusing I stole it.

I'm calling bs. I grew up in Scarborough, the schools in my area were mixed Caribbean, Canadian, European, Indian (and other South asain), Chinese (and other East Asian), middle Eastern, African, Latino, everyone went to the same school. Everyone's families were and are poor going through the same struggle. By the time I got to highschool I took the higher level courses, I went to class everyday, I wasn't a smart kid I didn't get to uni, I took a bridging program in college and got into uni. It's not hard to climb the latter in Canada if you work for it. Meanwhile at the same school a large percentage of Carribean and Somalian black students do not go to class, they skip, they dont care. In fact these same kids picked and made fun of the Asian kids that did go to school. They have zero respect imo. You can call me whatever you want I am just speaking my personal experience. School never seemed like a priority to them. I'm not Chinese or Indian but those 2 cultures always seemed like the hardest working. Those kids went to every class and got the best grades. Again Caribbean and Somalian black students in my area were more likely to be distruptive in class and get into fights. As were Greek kids and Canadian/Irish white kids. I am only pointing out the black students in relation to this video. Personal accountability is important, I don't disagree there is problems with the system but let's not act like there isn't a problem within black and even poor white culture itself. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror.

I feel being prejudiced in subtle ways every day when i was new to this country. Now with me settled here for some time, i feel less, but police especially the white police has always made me feel they are judging me based on my race, gender. They lie a lot, They should be defunded!

native americans have it worse than anyone by far. My nephew is native and he'll do fine. his parents are amazing and he's ridiculously brilliant so i don't see him doing anything but succeed, but a kid without the back up of a strong family and his IQ, heck i don't think it will go well. it does hurt his feelings, even at his young age the other kids he's in school with are very disappointing.\ni have witnessed this discrimination almost every time i am where natives are other than where they are well known. To be fair every time i go to best buy i get asked by every single employee if i need help, im a 26 yr old white guy. It's just what they're trained to do to help sell their products, it is really annoying though

I swear as someone with brown skin, the Best Buy thing happened to me literally every time I have walked into one. And I have been in several best buys in several cities.

I am from the US and am ashamed at my country’s racism. My family has always taught me as a very very young child that my country was new and made up of people of every country...a melting pot. As my parents taught me I also taught my daughter. It wasn’t until she reached high school that racism was really addressed at my home. In her sophomore year she came home extremely distressed over a discussion at her lunch table. Mind you she had been with the same group of girls since kindergarten. The subject came up about a new girl in school, from another country... Africa. She was so distressed about the conversation before the end of day she spoke to a teacher about it...her math and track coach. I was incredibly proud of her! To this day I can’t thank my parents enough for instilling in me what I needed to live free. To this day my daughter 17 years later has the pleasure of that young girl from Africa as a part of her extended family. We know what we are taught and ignorance has no place in or society today. I also grew up in Chester, PA where Dr Martin Luther King Went to school or a time, my parents were so proud of that.

It isn'tonly racial profiling instruments being used. There are all kinds of instruments being used to analyze our personal data anytime a person asks for help of any kind from the gand so gone are the days when you could count on offering blind trust to proft essionals assuming they will be accountable to those they serve for their best interests when interpreting the details of your case with you and with others since all they have to do when questioned is to produce a print out of automated results as 'scientific' proof to back up their impressions and conclusions about your situation and health. Who has the time to pour over every detailed highly technical looking instrument result? of their legal decisions recomended to a judge in business law and other kinds of court rooms and sometimes those automated results are being used to push medical diagnosic labels and then use them in a court of law whenever a malpractice suit is being waged.

I love Canada, I have a lot of family in Toronto and have been there many times as well as Montreal and Vancouver. Tbh, there’s no place like the US. We have all types of climates and geography. From deserts, tundra, rain forests, etc. We have some of the best mountains, beaches, and cities on Earth. If you like cold weather, stay up north like Chicago or Boston. If you like normal every season weather, we have many places for that. Mediterranean weather in California, and tropical weather in Florida. We have it all. We have the best sports fans in the world and every sport is accepted here. You can even see so many people play Rugby and Cricket in many parks. Many great universities throughout the country. Best attractions in the world for all age groups. High pay and decent cost of living in most part of the country. Supercar culture is the best in the world especially in SoCal (my personal favorite), TV and entertainment, and the list keeps going on and on. I know that the government in this country is pretty messed up, but hopefully that will be resolved in the future. I also respect the safety that Canada has, but have to admit that Toronto is getting pretty dangerous in some areas. Plus the History of America is amazing. I really do love Canada and would live there if I had to move out of the country, but there’s no place like the USA. ??❤️??

I find it to be swept under the carpet as far as racism is concerned, they smile in front of you but behind you they Stab you in the back .well the Americans is right up front I can work with you but I won’t socialize with you, at least you’re truthful.\n\n I find Canadians to be very two face , Hidden they true feeling and pretend a lot . This is so frustrating. I spent twelve years in the apartment industry and went through literally hundreds of hours of Fair Housing Training. I was given test shoppers on numerous occasions, just like every other property manager I knew and I always passed with flying colors because I stuck to a script and said everything the same way, even with the same tone of voice, every time. It didn't matter who was in front of me, my job was more important than anything else and that meant absolutely no possibility of discrimination. Here in the US, management companies and even the individuals onsite can be held monetarily responsible if testers find them to be discriminatory. It is very disappointing to see property staff making such bluntly poor choices. We all know better in that industry. This is the 21st century, we should be beyond this.

I applaud Cityline for bringing this topic up in Canada!! In the US, we see overt racism every day. Oftentimes, it’s the micro aggressions happening to the people I love that breaks my heart. I’ve seen young people, full of hope, feeling that their lives matter, over time, be shattered by a constant beating of racism.
