What that DR came to do in ?? Canada left me scratching my head. He says he did that for the sake of the children, he himself is a Dr and his parents did not imigrate for his sake to become a Dr. He has sacrificed a good life in Nigeria, if it was for furthering his education i would understand then he goes back home but this for the sake of the children has wrecked many lives in Nigeria and the wives or the women this men are married to are responsible for this vanity of living in the west. I bet the whole idea of relocating was his wifes and the reason is the sake of the children ?

I moved here towards the end of 1999,and my older brother moved here early 2000. He was already established back home,while I moved here from my university. He went back after six months,came back after six month to spend another six month. He left and have not returned since then. He found out it was better for him over there. I on the other hand, was studying for my engineering; so it was better for me to stay. If you are already established where you are, I will advise you travel abroad for vacations, but don't sell all you have thinking you are travelling to paradise. I will say, travel for your own education or your children's education sake, for peace sake,for medical sake; outside of those, it might not be worth it.

I'm from Nigeria as well. This man is absolutely correct. I came to Canada early 2000s. When I was ten or eleven years old. It's very tough here. There's no free healthcare back home so I move to Canada to get my treatment. I wish there's free healthcare back home. What the hell I'm I doing in Canada. Are you expecting magic just because you moved to a white man country? Be for real. You have to work hard and establish yourself and as time goes by, things will get better and easier. One more thing, if you don't like it, you can easily return back home. After all, you came at your own free will. Lastly, what might not be good for you, is wonderful for some.

They are not welcome here and should be sent back to where they came from, taxpayers should not be held responsible for the health care needs, their dental needs, their housing needs ,or even feeding them. I feel lucky that i came back to my home country india after spending 9 months in Canada. There is a bubble which is gonna be explode soon instead of spending 20-25 lakhs on study be smart to invest that money somewhere else so that you can get a proper return. When my grandparents came here to the United States to make a better life for them and their children, some of them born in Mexico but most of them were born here in the United States! My grandparents worked bought their home here in America never sent any money to Mexico to a bank to save when they were ready to retire. They stayed here in the United States they lived and they died here! They kept their money here because they moved here and they stayed here! My grandfather did not build a home in Mexico, he didn't save money to move back to Mexico! Because he loved the United States and wanted to escape the Injustice and the property in Mexico.

The only reason I can think of any Canadian wanting to move to the States is for a warm winter. Many do for 6 months at a time, but have to stop at some point because the insurance becomes too expensive. Our culture in Canada is very different. I worked with a man from Tennessee who went back there for his family once his kids were grown. He came back 4 years later wanting a job, couldn't take the crime

US immigration system is broken but it's still the best in western world if you are in engineering, mathematics and tech. I studied and worked in US, moved to India for personal reasons. I realized its difficult to adjust back in India, and US will never let me naturalize, so I moved to Canada. But Canada has hardly any jobs of its own, most of people in tech here work for American companies. In US, even an aerospace, biomedical, virology or genetic engineering person can find job in his/her field despite being on job visa, but in Canada its very tough. \nFew weeks back, I met an Uber driver who came to Canada 4+ years back, mechanical/automative engineer and was not able to find a job in his field despite no need for license with advance education and many years of relevant experience. He became Canadian citizen few weeks back, and guess what, he received 2 job offers in US and was moving to US on TN visa. \nI am myself working on something in Canada that is not my specialization. In US, I can get multiple messages from top government contractors for scientist/researcher positions, but I could not work for them as I don't have citizenship. In canada, despite being a PR, I know many experienced people who are forced to drive uber or do survival jobs.

This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada.The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence.

I lived in the US; Virginia for 13 years. For the most part the people are lovely... just like a lot of places. If you treat people with kindness; they usually return that kindness. At least that is my experience. Mind you, I came home in 2006. When I lived there the political climate was completely different. I would absolutely NOT move back to the US. When I came home to Canada; I was so grateful because I had to endure 2 years without Healthcare when I really needed it. I lived on pain pills at that time. I was in a wheelchair by 2008 and so grateful that I was home where my country took care of me when I was unable to work, or even walk. \n\nPolitics has changed so much since then. It was always kind of poler, but when Donald Trump entered the scene; it has become just awful. Again, I love the Americans for the most part, however there is so much racism, homophobia and hate displayed in the country right now. I pray every day that Donald Trump does not become president again. I fear for the United States. I love her as a sister to Canada; she is. I want her people safe...

I'm an American, but I grew up living overseas in many different countries, when we came back to live in my dad's hometown in Ohio, I was very surprised by its pleasantness and absolutely disgusted by the proud small-mindedness and pervasive racism. I still go visit and the pleasantness is almost gone.

I had a friend whos family split up and all 4 children and their mom ended up down in Philadelphia somewhere (some cult/religious thing she got into that started the whole divorce ect) and they would come back to Canada for visits. When he would explain going to school, having to walk through metal detectors on the way in, guarded by cops with SMG's I just couldn't fathom what he was talking about or why it would be needed. Luckily I managed to convince him to stay one time when he came and visited and still lives here. Personally I'm considering moving with how hostile my government here in Canada has become to anything oil/gas/nuclear/fertilizer. My trade (Steamfitter/Pipefitter) is being reduced to shut down work only and I have some family down in Texas and its pushing me more and more to start looking elsewhere for work. However I'm single, if I had a family there would be no way id leave. As good of healthcare you have down there (way better than most if not all of Canada in relation to wait times and expertise), one long illness or something and they drop your health care? Your screwed. Plain and simple.

With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.

Employers dont hire people without experience because of Justin Trudeau and his dam skilled immigration crap. Now there is too much skilled people looking for the same jobs. I went to a local job fair in a small building and it was overloaded with immigrants. There was only 7 employers hiring and in a room about the size of a classroom for 30 students. Yet there was 500 immigrants. You couldn't walk without pushing people. Even the hallways and the outside parking lot was crowded.... This is ridiculously way too much! Tyler's right about small-town America. I was driving my family to an international soccer tournament when the van broke down. A kind American stopped, found a tow rope in his truck, and towed us to the nearest town --- Drayton, North Dakota. \n\nThe town was so stereotypical, it was almost comical. It's definitely a different culture. There was the guy dressed head-to-toe in camouflage, with a bright orange hunter's vest. There was a carload of kids driving a hot rod up and down the main street, back and forth, back and forth, with no particular place to go.\n\nBut then there were two very kind gentlemen who came up to us, concerned about our wellbeing and where my family would sleep that night, because the motel was filling-up fast with competitors for the Drayton Catfish Capital Challenge Catfish Tournament (it's a real thing, look it up). Nobody prompted them. They had no ulterior motive. They were just genuinely concerned for us.\n\nMy lasting impression of the townspeople I'd met in Drayton that day was how nice they all were. They were kind and friendly and genuinely caring toward others, going out of their way to help us any way they could.

I had considered it once, about 25 years ago. I had friends to move to and everything, but my mother's cancer came back and I decided not to. I think it would have been fine in the past but given the circumstances that have evolved over the last 10 years - no, not to live. There are tons of beautiful and interesting places to visit in the US and I love visiting my friends. There are also tons of nice people in the US, but no, I would never move there.

I'm British, now retired and living in Spain for 20 years. Have noticed that in the last 10 years there are an awful lot of Americans who are moving here mainly because, although they still have to have private health, it's hugely cheaper here and the service is good; also the lifestyle is more laid back and they can visit a lot of different cultures. In the late 1960s my husband and I emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Visited the US a couple of times. First to NY city, second time down to Kentucky /Tennessee. My parents came on that trip with us. Met Americans at the motels we stayed in and a couple of times my father nearly lost it (don't know how he just kept quiet) as Americans his age were quite abusive and kept on about about how we'd never be able to repay America for their help in WW2 (my father fought in that for all 6 years). Anyway left Canada after 4 years and returned to England; not because we didn't like it but I was terribly homesick. None of the Canadians we're still in touch with would ever have moved to the US.

No they want to come here spend our hard earned tax dollars and send our money back to their country and build houses and we as Americans can't go in their country and take over they'll kill our ass and put us in the garbage . I've been a caregiver for over 40 years and I just love it, but recently, I've been seeing a few people, including the HR Department and the people who hired me, try to surprise me bye popping up and the client was very upset because they didn't want to listen to her and a employee that was working with me,I wasn't aware of the problem situation that was going on, so basically I was set up with them saying that I wasn't taking care of the client honestly the client told them I've been helping them the most the employee said that I wasn't changing the client,,and I noticed that the trash Bin was being opened and I bought it attention to the client and she said be careful with the company and the co-worker that is working with us is lying on. Me and I brought it up to my supervisor and then she said that someone had said that I wasn't changing her underwear and she the client said that she would let the boss know but she came back from told me that I wasn't able to continue to work for them and I asked them why they said someone was coming from Africa to join their company and I Said that I'm not going to signing anything that is a lie ...

First I feel for these people. They want to live in the greatest country in the world. Because of the current president we are in a bad situation where he has made it hard for the citizens that where born here to make a living let alone any new immigrants.\nOur military needs to protect our borders as they do in other countries and any illegal immigrants needs to be deported back to their country and do it the right way it’s an act of terrorism to invade our country the economic strain that it puts on the US is enormous like a bleeding artery that you can’t get tied off. This is not their home and they would go back to where they came from if they could! If Canada had a war and we gave they a way to go back to where they came from they would! No pride in our great nation is the real problem ? And the USA has pride and glory and their people call it home and take care of it! \n\nSo what we can take from this is that when you take a bunch of people from around the world and plop them into a place to work !!! It’s not their home nor do they respect it like it is! ? So we suffer

I lived in Canada from 2002 to 2013 and then came back to Brazil because a super job opportunity. I don’t have to say that I love the country and have so many friends in Vancouver. And these friends have started to complain of the country since 2019/2020. It is sad that canadians are having lesser perception of this AMAZING country.
