Hi Alina !! Good for you!! GOOOO!!!!I lived in Japan and China for a decade. I came back to Canada 4 years ago to find a decadent, unsafe, expensive country. Canada is not the shadow of the amazing country that I deeply loved. The only way I could survive these last four years was to leave Canada for at least 4 months a year. I am leaving Canada again tomorrow, but this time is for good. Do I feel sad? not anymore. I will always remember Canada but the new reality is just a nightmare !!!!

I’m Dutch and I worked in Berlin in 2012/2013. I remember being really surprised by the bureaucracy and lack of digitization in government and services. For example I needed a tax number, from the tax office in the area within Berlin, where I lived. Meaning there were about 19 of these offices around Berlin, handing out tax numbers. If you moved within the city to a different region, you needed to get a new different tax number. Comparing this to the Netherlands at the time, we don’t even have this number, as it is directly linked to your Social security number. Also tax statements are prefilled by our government, you only need to check them on a digitally secured portal.

Germany should send recruiters to US colleges and universities. Remember that the largest minority in the United States are German Americans!! Stop going to the ME and places that don't respect your values. Also in Argentina and Chile, and Dominican Republic, and Colombia ( yes really) have huge German communities. I am an immigrant and I love this country. It’s a privilege to be here and not a right. Problem is people don’t want to integrate and accept Canadian values. That's bull. The government has never invested in housing the way they were supposed to be. I don't remember the last time housing was part of election debate. Neither at provincial level nor national level. Immigration is again used at the boogeyman to justify housing problems. Another factor that might contribute here is the way the canadian embassies qualify the immigrants. I heard of a news sometime ago wherein an indian exchange student was accepted on a fully falsified document. I just dont remember what it was, but I saw it on youtube and on the news.

The problem is the type of people the government is bringing in. I'm an immigrant myself, living here for 20 years, and I remember the ton of paperwork I had to submit to prove I'm worth contributing to Canada's growth and economy. Today the government is only interested in bringing in criminals, refugees, low quality - low wage workers who won't contribute a dime to Canada's economy but become a burden on taxpayers. This mindless immigration has now caused exponential increase in crime, and poor productivity in Canada's economy. Canada under JT is not the Canada I came for, and the Canada I knew when I first landed here.
