It's easy to solve the problem from the outside in the comfort of your homes but I don't think you realise if they protest or stand up to these cartels they will be killed on the day! Now you got to wonder why the fuck your government is pretending to help a country like Ukraine instead of solving the problems right next to them! Acting like your country has morals after invading several countries

The arbitrary aspect of the immigration system is the most depressing aspect of living here in the US. I guess when the system was implemented it may have had some use (such as being impartial to everyone by employing a lottery system) but these systems are pretty outdated at this point and only a leverage for political parties to throw gang signs at each other talking about how bad immigration is. I also don’t think anyone wants to solve immigration problems really, I mean even some of the nicest local people I know throw their hands up like “I don’t know” and I think it’s because immigration suffers from the same thing that many other problems suffer from and that is a lack of focus. Illegal immigration takes up so much time and space that fixing legal immigration seems like a daunting challenge and not at all worth trying. If I were a betting person I would never hedge my bets on immigration, I just need to have the time to digest and understand a lot of knowledge about how immigration helps me and my country. It’s honestly up to the Government imo to give it the proper fix it deserves but, again, why bother if it doesn’t help?

Not entirely accurate. It's pro-wealthy immigration here in Canada absolutely. It's citizenship for sale. Not necessarily wealthy in terms of really wealthy (like Switzerland) but it's definitely citizenship for sale, so if you don't have money, don't bother. Newcomers with medical and engineering expertise can't get jobs here in Canada, in spite of our healthcare system being on the point of collapse and our supposed hi-tech push. Regulatory boards here have made it impossible. Estimates are around 175000 qualified, internationally trained doctors and nurses who gave up trying to practice here and moved into other careers. Ukrainian doctors, for eg, with extensive trauma experience and willing to staff our emergency departments have been told they have to requalify by going to Canadian medical school to retrain for at least 4 years. Same story in engineering. By IT, our government seems to mean low-paid call center IT work, moving the IT sweatshop racket from India onto Canadian soil. If you can afford to buy a business - I believe the total business investment was 500 000 pre-pandemic - that's another way in. Not sure if thats gone up now. So many of our franchise businesses are essentially being used as citizenship tickets. The big ticket item: If you can afford 4 years of postgraduate or undergrad university program, or 3 to 4 year college program - and if you don't have the cash, loan sharks in India will distribute debt across the whole family for decades so one student can go . There us a very good documentary by an Indian filmmaker on the Canadian college/University recruitment drive in India and its consequences. Several of our colleges have student enrollments at over 70% of the entire student body, direct entry from India. Additional problems like grade inflation, different education standards, and outright fraud on ESL testing also mean that Indian students are not well prepared for school here. Many do not have enough English to succeed in their studies. They either need to spend for additional tutoring, take a qualifying year or two ESL (on top of the 3 or 4 program), or fail courses. Universities and colleges keep the tuition though. Honestly our colleges and universities are staying afloat because of Indian students. They're being treated like cash cows - and Indian recruiters are scamming the system, taking fees on their end with unsuspecting students getting falsified documents, or being told they passed their ESL when they didn't. It's a national disgrace. I'm a prof here, I've seen all of this firsthand. Your data may be correct, but the narrative you've constructed for it is not the real picture.

It is illegal for teachers in government funded schools to promote religion. Wearing religious garb is promoting religion. The problem is with Burke has not hijabs. However male teachers can't wear baseball caps either. The government does allow for privately-funded religious schools.\n\nAs for hate crimes it doesn't matter how many times it's reported only how many times it's convicted. Consider that most violence against blacks is committed by blacks...\n\nAs for healthcare most provinces have a 15 to 25% backlog on surgery. The government has run out of money to fund Healthcare. There are massive staffing shortages because of political actions taken by the federal government.\n\nCanada is one of if not the most taxed countries in the world. On average she pay 30% income tax. Then when you spend that money they take another 12% in sales and goods tax.\n\nCanada is better than a lot of places but it's gotten a whole lot worse since the pandemic. Just like the US it's a boiling pot waiting to explode.

You forgot to mention that those High Skill Migrants that go to Canada LEAVE CANADA and go to the USA afterwards anyway. While we still take in a lot of unqualify migrants that should be sent to the outer region instead come to the cities and cause more problems for Canadians citizens already here because of the Federal government while leaving cities like Toronto to handle the horrible Housing and homeless crisis. Canada has a HUGE Brain drain problem and declining population problem. Thats the only reason Canada is so open for immigrations. Canada is Cursed and lucky being close by the US.

You did a very good job highlighting this growing issue. Canadas housing/ living prices have sharply risen becoming unaffordable for the average Canadian , We do not have enough houses to buy or rent and the government continues to invite large numbers of immigrants compounding the problem with many immigrants looking to leave once they find out just how expensive it is to live here.

To Polymatter, please do a video on the Canadian housing problem. Things that you MUST make people aware on are 1) housing and zoning are set by local and provincial governments, not by the federal government which only controls immigration. 2)show where the immigrants are going 3) look at what the PROVINCES are doing to help the situation (as they hold the ultimate levers for housing and development) 4) percentage of housing stock held be corporations and non residents. I think you will find its quite the complex issue.

The problem with Canadas economy is that the canadian government is 10000 percent dependant on running its economy using the IMPORTED money of so called immgrants from Asia and Middle east into Rear Estating, permanently creating hyper inflation in housing prices and ensuring the banking ponzi scheme does not collapse, as their money in real estate bails out Canadians and banks, via higher and higher and higher home prices. Lots of complacent Canadians on here bragging about health care and whatnot. Things aren't going very well, with skyrocketing housung costs, inflation, high taxes, health care system isn't doing well. Canada also has a government that couldn't care less about doing anything to fix these problems.

How did you not talk about the ridiculous cost of living in Canada? Canada is one of the most expensive places in the world to live, and it's only getting worse. Unfortunately it's often immigrants that are causing the problem. I'm an American who moved to Canada in 2009 and I'm quite happy never living in The US.\n\n\nWhile Canada is not immune from many of the social ills of The US, they are nowhere near as prevalent.\n\nGun crime is far less of a problem here. Racism exists but it is not as virulent here and the government, while not specifically trying to help me (I am black) it is not trying to hurt me or dehumanize me.\n\nLife is just...generally...more civil here and community minded.\n\nI'm not saying that I hate The US, just that I. Much happier and feel safer here.\n\nAt my age (62), that is important to me.

Each countries have their pros and cons. Yes guns and religions are a big turn off but in Canada we're not as free as in USA. \nHere, in Canada, i can't defend myself or my home, i have to way for the police to show up (and it take enough time for the cops to find a corps) if i do and do arm or kill the offenderl, i end up in jail which leaves Canadians with 2 choices. Either get killed or get in Jail. \nIn the last years i saw Canada going to a close to be socialists system and slowly going into a communist system which scare the shit out of me. I think a big part of the feelings most have about not moving to the US, apart from the reasons they've been able to quantify, are the fact that we see the obvious problems not being fixed. In many other countries health care, gun control, etc may not be perfect, but change and improvements are made. In the US, we see any efforts shot down time and time again because the policians seem to be owned by corporations/lobbyists, and big business likes things as they are. This significantly erodes confidence in the US government's ability to address other crises that will come up.

I was a teenager when my church youth group went on a trip to help repair houses for poor Americans, while I was there I had a crash on an atv and it didn’t appear life threatening so I didn’t go to the emergency room while I was in the states. I am on disability, the government gives me enough money for food and rent. I am currently working with my health care team to figure out if I have brain damage and if that brain damage is why I have problems that make it so I can’t work. My family wouldn’t be able to afford to get proper health care in the United States.

As a Canadian here are my views on the problems here:\n1.Government waste/spending\n2. Insane taxes, we literally pay taxes on our tax here. When you add it all up the lower tax brackets after their 15% gst pay about 45% of their income in taxes alone. Provinces like Nova Scotia are disgusting when it comes to the tax they pay. \n3. Easy immigration, we should consider immigrants based on what they can do for Canada, we don't need hundreds of thousands who can't work or refuse to work. It's a strain on the system. The immigration also artificially increases housing costs.\n4.Government corruption, it's part of why the taxes are so high. It's also part of the recent hyperinflation Canada has suffered. Just look up Trudeaus WE charity Scandall or SNC Lavalin Scandal, some even say Trudeau was getting kickbacks from the vaccine which I have yet to see evidence of but I personally believe it. \n5. Politically illiterate voters and propaganda, here in Canada the government likes to keep it's people uninformed and how they do it is through propaganda. The Liberals have every major news source in Canada in their pocket and in order for you to get news that isn't influenced by them you have to specifically search for them by name, those include Rebel News, TFI Global, and True North. Almost everything else is incredibly biased, they selectively report the news and in many cases outright lie. This causes extreme political illiteracy in it's population.\n6. Housing rules, here in Canada there are some really stupid bylaws like the main floor of your primary dwelling must be 900sqft in some areas, plus building codes prevent cheap construction of homes. You could have a tiny home on piers and it wouldn't cost much but because of our laws and codes it's impossible. You need a proper foundation, footings, building permits, ad in order to get a permit you need to submit blueprints, etc. You can't just buy a prefab building set it on piers and live in it. That'd be too easy, that'd make housing affordable and the government wouldn't like that. \n7. Woke indoctrination centers, The public education system here is all about putting in regular kids and pumping out future Liberal voters. It's a mess.\n8. You can't defend yourself, In Canada you aren't allowed to carry a weapon for self defense. If a criminal breaks into your home you are supposed to do everything you can to escape rather than defend your property. Criminals have more protection under the law than the law abiding citizens. \n9. Low wages, because of immigration wages are low compared to the USA for most jobs in most locations\n10. Thigs cost more in Canada than the USA after taking into consideration currency conversion rates, even things manufactured in Canada\n11. The cold. Nobody likes the cold for the 4-6 months of the year that the higher populated areas of the country have it. The more densely populated areas also tend to be the warmest. \n12. Fascist leaders. It's no secret Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are fascists\n13. Governmental links to the WEF, you'll own nothing and you'll be happy or so their add said. Canada’s main problem is Trudeau’s government which his own agenda. Part of that agenda is to kill free enterprise in this country and to make people more dependent (and controlled) on government. Those businesses who share the “pride” philosophy imposed are getting well paid contracts. Others getting bankrupt by those plandemic lockdowns. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? If all foreign businesses and investors were required to hire 50% native employees on all levels including management and executives the problems within the continent would change within a decade. They're really needs to be accountability within government also who tend to get extremely rich on the plight of their people.

Hilarious. Education? LOL. I was born, lived and worked in 5 provinces and can safely say the education is far from world class. Geographically Canada is amazing beyond that, we fall below many many nations in many areas and oh, I've lived in 3 other countries. Most of our problems are directly due to the federal government.

Venezuela is an extreme socialist problem. They control all prices and hijack the concept of healthy business functions. This causes essential goods like water, food, and toilet paper, even fruits, are totally barren from stores. Socialism there is a nightmare and no one is living life their with decency. Read about it before you judge these people. Try to visit these countries or learn from someone who came from there before you form a solid opinion of politics folks They don’t have the ability to use much of their “freedom” to “fix” things against a rigged system already (some commenters say they need to go back and fix their countries- lots of issues with this). Read up on how South American governments make it almost impossible for their own people to make decent money. Americans are very privileged and that is an understatement. The problem is with these terrible governments and even law enforcement who often get bribed by criminals and many dirty cops in some countries down there. My husband is from South America, and we know Cubans, Brazilians, and Venezuelans who beg America to stay capitalist. That’s why America needs to stay American, and refrain from trying to be socialist.

This is sickening to see, i feel bad for those that came here the correct way and got their citizenship. Ive read alot of comments that say well if the usa didnt have such stringent rules to become a citizen, then this wouldnt happen. Thats like applying for a job without giving them any information about yourself, and expecting to get that job with no experience. Is it so bad these people should learn about our history and culture, need to be bi lingual and go through the entire vetting process? The answer is they should because if we went to anyother country, we would be expected to learn about their culture. You cant even live in cananda unless you have a certain amount of money and takes years to become a citizen, why shouldnt our border be any different? The fact of the matter is our government needs to wake up, put politics aside and address the issues. I have no problem with people coming here, it they need to become legel and pay taxes like everyone else. We are sick of paying for people that do nothing to contribute to our economy. We have problems here as well! We have a LIT of homeless people here, as well! We have drugs and crime messing up our lives, as well. When our right to shoot you for trespassing is upheld, we will looked at as bad people. Fix your country and rush your government like this!

On what planet does mass migration benefit the country that is invaded by people who know that they have entered the country illegally. My country, Britain, is being invaded every day and I cannot see one sjngke benefit, only problems for the indigenous population; pressure on housing and services and more crime to name just three detrimental issues.
