it's NOT free, after all taxes combined on an annual basis I'm paying around 60% taxes, carbon taxes, pst, gst, luxury taxes on cars over 50 k, all manner of hidden taxes, no health care is definitely not free. My health care plan in the US was 155 a month, my share, employer paid the rest, a good plan. But I took home 22% more of my income, which is massive on an annual basis, I was very rich down there, coming back to Canada it's sad, give the government all that money for what exactly? Can't think of one thing I ask the government for, but you know I'm self reliant, so self reliant people don't thrive in Canada. If I had lived in the US my whole life, same job/income I would be living a life multiples better than Canada.

But, but, Trudy took all our sporting rifles away and we can't buy and sell handguns that we used to use for target shooting. How can housing, medical services and the safety of our street be nothing but perfect? All jokes aside: I too have watched in anguish as these social engineers have destroyed our country. And, they are not done yet. You won't believe the horrible future they have imagined for us. Think N. Korea, Hunger Games, 1984. No one took the time to understand or listen to our voices of warning over the years. People promoted prohibition not realizing the license to violence it gave government and now, they are coming for your freedom and your nation is in ruins. All of you were warned.

The western politicians are really not very good at governing. The problem you see nowadays in the west is essentially the same problem the west have created all over the world in the past. It is about exploiting other people. Just that they even have to exploit their own people. But their own people get used to the nice life they have had. And all the politicians can do is tax more and more. US and Canada still have a lot of resources. Europe may be the problems since they don't have resources or labors.

Just like the USA. Liberals ruined it. Illegals get everything for free (currently there is 44 million illegals in the USA). US citizens become second class citizens. Only the top 0.001% is represented in US congress and illegals. US veterans living on the street because the American government hate them. Taxes in the USA in CA are almost 50%. Federal 37% and State 12.3%. In the meantime the top 0.001% pays only around 8-10% in Federal taxes. Just ask Bezos how much taxes he paid . Founder Jeff Bezos “did not pay a penny in federal income taxes” in 2007 and 2011. It also pointed out that Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk paid no federal income tax in 2018 and investing legend George Soros did the same “three years in a row.”

I can understand the pain the gentleman is going through my family own a life housing and land in Uganda very few tenants have paid and the government is not letting us evict them but love us to continue to pay our taxes while allowing encroachers to steal our land and some of them are military personalities. My mother just passed and every single day was struggling to pay her medical bills. And guess what the miltary government ishe helped put in power. They had no money to buy my arms and food for 30 years and even longer. As soon as those with evil mind intentions leave we shall go back to our daily routines take our kids to school. The economy has been falling apart for years and you know it's getting even worse when the government tries to prevent people from kicking tenants into the streets and majority of them are women. This is happening all over the US and it's getting worse by the year.

I agree with you leaving. I am a 3rd generation retired Canadian who used to be proud to be so. Now I am not, in fact I am embarrassed to say I am Canadian as it is nothing to be proud of. I think of how good things were in the 70's and 80's while I was young and now how bad things are today and it is truly depressing. Back then if you are willing to work, you could make a decent living, buy a car, a house and raise a family - today, good luck with that. The people in the west have had no say in the faulty governments we have had as Ontario and Quebec have put the final nails in our coffin when they elected that buffoon JT for a third consecutive term and then the NDP kisses his butt to join up and torture us more when most sane Canadians did not ask for this. JT is truly an embarrassment for this country although the US is in step with comatose Joe. I feel sorry for the kids and many others that are trying to survive, make a living and buy houses. Reverse discrimination has been at play for 20 years or so but is really out of control these days when a white Canadian kid that has got 5 yr honours degree in University has trouble finding a job today because you are the wrong colour. Our national anthem was changed a number of years back for no good reason. Immigrants are being imported by this idiot called our PM and handed out living accommodations, jobs and our hard earned $$ that he stole from us while our own people fall deeper into the quagmire. I thought for a second that one of you finally got it but NO ! America is a continent, not a country, stop calling United Statiens, Americans ! The name of your country is the United States, making it's citizens United Statiens. US of A is short for The United States of the continent of America. Don't take my word for it, listen to the US government. Look at a US passport. On the cover it says US passport, not American passport. Inside it says that the barer of the passport is a US citizen, not an American citizen. United Statiens calling themselves Americans is an insult to all the other countries on the Continent. One last thing, yes, the fact that the US is on the continent makes United Statiens, Americans but that being said, it also makes every Mexican, an American. So why is Murika trying to Keep Americans out of America !? Why must the enforcement of human rights vest with the EU? Where is Africa? Where are the Arab States , the US , Russia and China? I've tried to get my wife to consider taking our hard earned nest egg and moving to the US or even just Alberta to escape the communist government in BC. But she won't leave darnit. I hope for the. best for you - I recommend the USA more than any other nation though, as they have inexpensive luxury housing and land available with much higher incomes than Canada. If I was 25 instead of 56 I would have become a nurse or doctor so the US would let us in easily.

I have a question about the West imposing their style of democracy on Africa and the Middle East. Many of the so called dictators that were deposed by the US and allies, were in countries with functioning autocracies, governed by religious ideologies and culture that were centuries old and deeply embedded in the fabric of those societies. All that has happened is the creation of a power vacuum, quickly filled with religious zealots and extremists. Western styled democracy may well have diluted the cultural norms and religious dictates that kept those societies organised and functional. By introducing and forcing Western concepts and liberal ideologies onto those countries, they have succeeded in dividing once proud nations, scattering them all over the planet and diluting their identity. That is my opinion as a white Westerner.

We just left Canada 2 weeks ago. Now we’re in the US. Canada has gotten worse for the last few years or decades according to some. When we applied for Canada, all the prosperity was promising. It was like second or third option behind the US and UK. And now, after 7 years, we have decided to really act and do what’s best for our family and the future of our kids. The main reasons why we left Canada, it’s the high and doubled taxes, the very slow healthcare, you get to start to zero despite your decades of managerial experience, they don’t honor your diploma cuz they have their own standard even if your education or work is US standard, the housing and rentals are skyrocketing. Imagine if the rentals are increasing every year by $50-150 is insane. It’s just so inhumane. Back in my birth country in the Philippines, if you’re poor or low income family..the government don’t tax you. You get a high percentage of healthcare assistance and you also get some free social services including monthly allowance from the national government and another separate assistance from the local government. Canada is beautiful if you have money with all the good and kind people around, but the expenses, it’s gonna kill your pocket.

Sometimes I still read Mark Twain’s Running for Governor. The problem with my beloved country is that all the politicians are liars, both liberals and conservatives. The media is also a tool used by government to promote their agenda. They have been brainwashing people into believing things they want us to believe, especially when they smear foreign countries because there is no one to defend them. With your international travelling, you see with your own eyes and experience what it is like living in foreign countries. While we generally have a distrust in politicians, it isn’t possible for us to know exactly what is going on globally.

This is what happens when there is zero accountability when you don't pay your rent. They aren't held financially responsible and they get off scot free, God forbid you owe the government money though. They will destroy your credit and throw you in jail. As long as its happening to us peasants its ok. Just shut up, take your shots, don't say anything that can offend anybody, and you'll be allowed to go to work everyday to give them 40% of your pay.

The first thing Canada needs to do to turn things around is to stop being a lapdog to the US. But it's almost impossible because the people don't have power in their hands anymore, the same as the Americans. The governments are infested with corrupt officials. You're making the right choice.

I moved from Canada to the US 24 years ago. When I left I was worried about how expensive the US was, the crime rate, etc. It’s ironic that since then homes are more expensive, job opportunities have not kept pace with the US and the population has exploded. I am unabashedly pro immigration but the issue in Canada is a government that dramatically expanded immigration with no plan to address the housing stock until it was too late. That is ripping through the economy and tearing apart the country. I hope Canadians can find a good way out. ?

It's easy to immigrate, you're in the same timezone as most of the English-speaking audience (that makes the most money per view) and Mexico (and Canada) have extremely comprehensive tax treaties with the US and endless MOUs and so on, which make dealing with Google and the IRS super easy. If you can move to the US, do so. While there is tension down here, it is by far the freest nation. Look at Europe, they're going down the fascist route, same with Australia, NZ. And Canada unfortunately is entering that realm whereby your rights are going to be extinguished. Even with a change of government, when you are beholden to an inbred, foreign crown, it gets harder and harder. South America is no different. Don't kid yourselves, places like Costa Rica sound like an idyllic place but there is crime, poverty, nasty insects. Moscow on the other hand is not bad, it's like the 1980s in the US there, sure the infrastructure is sub par and they do have crime but aside from the proxy war going on, it's an option if you are of Russian decent. Your best bet is still the US, if you can wait the years, pay all the fees, jump through all the hoops, unless of course you are an illegal, non-white and a potential Democrat voter.

We emigrated in 1992, everything was wonderful from an economy point of view, now our children your age are experiencing housings difficulties and we are thinking what have we lead our child into. We do know from our thirty years in Canada, governments come and go and do have an impact, but the last several years have been brutal for us all.

I think you need to be patient. Canada is a good place and can be again with the Liberals being replaced. People in Canada are more centre politically than extreme left or right. From what I see with comments across the different podcasts I watch, people in Canada are fed up with the direction he has taken us. A more centre government be in place will bring us back to a more familiar country.

Alina, I truly empathize! Millions of us Canadians do. While he's not entirely responsible for Canada's decline, Trudeau's government's immigration and economic policies in the last 9 years have certainly exacerbated Canada's housing, inflation, health care and cost of living problems. I don't know if electing the Conservatives will improve things much, but they can't possibly do any worse.

We Canadians welcome legal migration but illegal migration that has taken place under the Trudeau Government has been abused and its costing us taxpayers way too much money. So many Canadians in the same situation — perhaps use your Canadian passport ? so many better places for you to be… find a nice job across the border in the US — it’s so easy to get a TN work Visa, or work tax free in the UAE, or build a nice career in Singapore. I had the same problem with Australia — it’s my home, and my heart will always fondly call it home forever. Australia is a big country with small job market, generally ignorant (but nice) people and limited economic diversity. One gets proper civic amenities only in either Melbourne or Sydney e.g., top notch medical care, a wide variety of groceries etc. Taxation is very high and although some people will tell you “we are well taken care of…” that is not true nowadays. The Australian Government’s policies over the last 40 years destroyed manufacturing, the economy, working conditions and inflated the property market. A reasonable 2-bedroom apartment in a Sydney suburb could cost you Au$2000-3000 in rent or Au$500,000+ to buy — and that goes higher as you get closer to downtown Sydney. The problem is that incomes are not high enough in Australia and housing quality is less than average overall for these ridiculous prices. Food, tolls and petrol cost a lot, although Sydney and Melbourne’s fresh food markets give you better prices than you’ll find in most other cities. My wife and I had a combined income of over Au$300,000/year while we lived there. We finally left Australia and moved to the US because even with our relatively high income we could only have an average house for around Au$1.8 million, we couldn’t fill up the tub and have a proper bath because of water restrictions, our kids would get an average schooling and their only dream in life would be to one day own a house. We didn’t want to live like that, so we wrapped up and left for good. The US is much better for skilled people — I don’t mean plumbers, tilers, roofers or landscapers, although life is good for them too. I’m sure someone will reply to this comment about the gun violence in the US. All I can say is that in the US we have the option to defend ourselves whereas in Australia we are expected to quietly die if someone kicks us in the head, stabs us or shoots us. Quality of life is good here in the US for me and my family. Fly free, mate!

Our governments in Canada have certainly failed us thanks to Justin & Jagmeet. Voting has consequences so vote for Pierre Pollievue in 2025 . Hopefully he can enact change to get our country back on track . It will take decades to fix but this country is blessed with talented people and vast resources. It is a beautiful land so let's improve the human side . The rest of the world may beckon but it to has many problems.

3rd generation here, I can retire next year as long as I leave Canada. If I remain, I will work until dead because it is so very expensive and getting more so under the cult of climate change. It pains me to witness what our governments have allowed to happen in our communities. Drug abuse is rampant, mental health is staggering, youth are medicated, gender confused and climate terrified. A homeless shelter for drug addicts is being built less than a 4 minute walk from my home which is in a seniors park....we will all be victimized by theft and vandalism. We are also divided thanks to trudeau who has labelled and categorized us so deeply he ran elections based on divisions. We are no longer the kind polite people we once were. Churches burning epitomizes the moral or lack of moral ground we live and act upon. So I am moving next year to central America, Panama most likely...I can afford to retire there, never need to heat my home nor worry trudeau is going to ban my furnace and my car. It saddens me to no end for I have grandchildren, 5 generations, of investment in this country.

I decided to leave the US because I began to realise that it's just not an ideal place to work and raise a family. The state I lived in (South Carolina) has a better quality of life than, say, California, New York, Oregon, Washington or New Jersey, but overall the US just doesn't do an adequate job of caring for its citizens, and the US government (especially those left of centre) has its priorities in the wrong place. The UK has its own problems no doubt, but overall the UK does a much better job of caring for its citizens than the US does. \n\nIt'll be more difficult for you than it was for me because you'll be going to an entirely new country where you have no family and no social network, but you're an intelligent and daring woman, you seem to be quite comfortable around new people, and you'll settle into wherever you end up very quickly. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing how everything plays out!

Germany created their own problem in their flawed, points-based model of their government pension system. It is like we are paying backwards, where our money earned right now is taken away from us to pay for the pensions of retired people who earned those rights to a government pension years or decades ago during their working lives. We are then given points, with the hope that the next generations one day pay for our own pensions. See the problem?\n\nInstead, people’s hard earned monthly payments towards pension could have instead have been invested for them into actively-managed portfolios of bonds, equities and commodities. Thereby, each and every person currently on pension could have enjoyed the benefits of decades of compounding growth!\n\nNow we are here, as the video says, 2 workers are needed to cover the pension of 1 retired person. This is absolutely absurd and they will never be able to attract 400,000 new skilled workers every year with the current issues highlighted in this video.\n\nMy best advice - when you are working in Germany, seriously think about it to save and invest a portion of your net income and prepare yourself for a future where you cannot solely rely on your German pension!

Borders exist for a reason. It’s not fair to citizens of ANY country to dump hoards of unknown, unvetted people onto us and our cities AND expect us to support, educate, provide healthcare and pay for them. People from poor countries think westerners and Europeans are all rich. In our societies we work extremely hard and sacrifice our entire lives to have a good future and healthcare if we need it. We pay a lot of tax to have safe cities and towns. When you dump thousands and millions of people into our countries we all sacrifice even more and cannot access housing, healthcare or social programs because they are overwhelmed helping illegals. That is not fair to citizens of any nation. The real difference would be teaching poorer war torn countries how to build fair societies. How to build an economy. How to develop a democracy. Uncontrolled immigration is a problem everywhere in the western world. I live in the US, supposedly one of the best, and had to fight for a long time to get into my apartment. Ignoring legal immigrants, did you know that the US government creates programs where illegal immigrants get free housing?

The government is like this, because there is no Rental cap, and they allow Owners to rent out places for whatever they want in whatever shape. The government won't step into to ensure: rent paid goes towards your credit score, living conditions are good in these units, owners arnt over charging, and are Legal units; so then why would the Government step in now to help Evict tenants, and help owners be able to rent without fear this will happen to them/again. FYI Housing crisis is Government issue as well, as they are allowing Owners to be slimy as well in regards to doing and charging whatever they feel, for whatever they have (good living condition or not). The government created this craziness; of course they will take forever to fix it; like tax time- if we owed them money they want it ASAP, yet they owe us money- they take it into investigation (between now and a year etc) and then they eventually pay it out(if they don't decide to reevaluate your file)... The government broke it; they'll take forever to (not) fix it.

One time I was working with a Chinese Canadian engineer, who worked for the client company. We went to the loading dock to check on the equipment from my company, which had just arrived. The native Canadian loading dock workers were openly making racist slurs about the Chinese engineer, right in front of him. He was very careful not to respond. I asked him about it later, and he just waved it off. This was in the Toronto area. I was also warned about Chinese who were involved in organized crime in the city. Then, a few days later I saw it in downtown Toronto. Two Chinese men in a Mercedes had stopped on the road and pulled a woman out of the car and started threatening her. It was a tense situation. \n\nOften it is the government types that welcome the immigrants, for various reasons. Canada does indeed have a demographic problem. \n\nThis is not the 19th and early 20th century in Canada or the US or Europe. Today we have extensive social safety nets. This means taxpayer dollars. In the earlier times the immigrants had to fend for themselves. Even then, there would be feelings against the immigrants. At least in the US it was a time of rapid economic and geographic expansion. Not so anymore.

As a born Canadian - my heart is broken and because my country has been poorly managed I am planning to leave for a better life for my own children. The Liberal government has ruined our country that was great and sustainable. We are living in what feels like a socialist country with no protection to its people. Have mercy on us

The government wants us to be poor. The poorer we are the more reliant we are on these elites. That's why the government gaslights us about immigration.

They are laughing at us and we all pay for this stupid government's exploited policies.

Same thing in the USA, same thing in UK, same thing in Ireland, same thing in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, etc ............. Those in power are wanting to replace the low birth rates with new people in these markets... New voters in those markets who can be manipulated, controlled, isolated in their tribes of origin... And let us not forget about religious blending in a international governance manner....

Goverments around the world are doing this to all of our countries!!! They want to destroy all of us so they can have a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT!!!!!
