I left Canada 2 years ago and moved to California. I lived for 13 years in Mississauga. About Canada: terrible weather, worst drivers, fewer cops to ticket drivers, worst community and University teaching experience. I taught for 13 years in Ontario, and it's all business. Housing is more expensive in Mississauga than a beach house in Orange County. Excellent medical system in Southern California (at least what I have experienced so far with two younger daughters). With year-round great weather and access to high-quality fruits and vegetables, school systems are among the finest in the US. I have not heard a single gunshot in the last 2 years. People are not allowed to take weapons unless concealed with a license.\n\nI would not recommend anyone to settle in Canada. I heard that most immigrants who move to Canada are not well-educated and end up doing blue-collar jobs. Those who are educated are doing under-qualified jobs. A super expensive country with super high vehicle insurance, expensive cell phone and cable plans, and so on. I took a dermatologist appointment for my kid, and it took 6 months in Ontario versus two days in the US. I know it is just my case, but overall, I am very happy that I left Canada.

Febby, may I please ask why you didn’t stay in Calgary? (Or Alberta?) was it because of jobs there? I’m thinking of moving out of Ontario because it’s hard to survive here and I’d really like to hear your view point! Thanks ??❤️

Just to be clear the things being taught in schools “without parents knowing” are all online for parents to access anytime under the Government of Ontario website. What the parents see are the exact same documents the teachers use. Also, the Ontario curriculum teaches about all different types of families because students come from all different types of families. In terms of “indoctrination” each curriculum specially talks about critical thinking. \nOf course if your child comes home talking about something that concerns you just reach out to the school/teacher. When it comes to religious reasons alternative arrangements can be made to keep your child from gaining more knowledge on the subject of your concern.

You’re 100% right, about all of it minus the rage. Id say Ontario and westward i agree but Quebec and east of there make a LOT less I’d say net 35,000$. And that’s the high end. A lot of people use to come here to build a new life as well as support their families back home. Now you can barely support yourself, god forbid you trying to support your own household. I'm a native Canadian and I dislike our winters here in Southern Ontario. I thought that hibernation was normal, I thought that was the way of life all over the world. Only recently have I begun to realize that 'wow, the cost of living in Canada is getting so crazy high', that maybe there is somewhere else I could live to, a place where life would be better.

Alberta is superior to BC in every way. Lefties have ruined BC and Ontario. I studied computer science in Toronto and moved to Alberta as soon as I got a job and my life is amazing now. Toronto and Vancouver are disgusting honestly ?

I moved here from Ontario in 95 , It was very expensive then, nothing has changed other than well the Internet. If you tough it out you will find your way and will be rich!!! California is more expensive but BC is better. Good Luck!

I came to Toronto when I was 11. 43 years later, my wife and I are getting out. We are even looking at getting out of Ontario, possibly Canada. It is impossible to afford to live here, and jobs aren't available if you don't look too diverse... there are tons of empty boarded up stores increasingly in the GTA and it reminds me of parts of Buffalo in the early 80s. It has changed too much for me. Thanks for sharing, we realize we are not alone.

As a Muslim father with three daughters, Islam in this country has become westernized, its almost impossible to live Islamically, eat halal and live interest free, the drugs, LGBTQ and inflations is only getting started with no end in site. We also are on our way out. Especially Ontario

I married a Muslim man here and we live in a Muslim community in his village. I feel extremely safe in Indonesia and the cost of living is so inexpensive compared to Canada. I did my education here in Ontario. Back home in India, education was mostly about education but here it is all about having all the experiences like weed, addictions, breakup and promiscuity etc. Everyone talks about YOLO (You Only Live Once). You have to be crazy to live in BC or southern Ontario. I knew she would pick those 2 places. In Winnipeg , there are many many new East Indian and Ukrainians and there is still a worker shortage.

No all of Ontario is that expensive . Toronto, Ottawa and major cities but if you were to look at Cambridge or you are 1 hour from T.O. but you can get a studio or apartment under 2k . You can get a fully detached Houseman cambridge ontario 3 bedroom around 1100 for around 500k . Again about 1 hour away. It depends what you want. If you like the big city of Toronto then you have to pay to play. Right now there are opportunities especially with work from home now.

As the Middle class in Canada is now becoming poor. The rich get much richer. This government is trying to bring in thousands of immigrants to stimulate the economy. But mostly; the immigrants have taken over all the lower Canadian jobs. We can't get them anymore. Because immigrants work cheap here; and sign onto contract deals with mega-corps that ensure they keep working for 2 years. Job entry level Canadians (are left without). There are also not nearly enough houses for immigrants to live in anyway! This government did not anticipate that we simply do not have enough homes for immigrants, nor Canadians alike!! What a fail. My one and only trip to Canada was by accident to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. It was cool bc I was 19 and so I could buy ? but I quickly learned Canadas economics are screwed as I bought a 12 pack of Molson Canadian... In Canada... And it was like $16! In 2006! The same 12 pack in Michigan would've been like $11 at that time!

Liberal debts just aren't necessary to pay I suppose, unless you're conservative. No offence to new immigrants but if you came here past 2018 you should not be allowed to buy a house until house prices get back to sane levels. I was born in raised in a small town surrounded by farmland in Ontario and the average cost of a home is now 700k. 20 years ago it was 150k. No one I grew up with can afford a home, I'm sorry but Canadians first. Other countries seem to care way more about their own people waaaay more than here. I feel like Canadians are constantly the ones who just have to suck it up. Its absolutely nonsense. Either something has to happen or I, and many Canadians in the same position will leave. Canada sucks at the moment, do not come here! Almost everyone I talk to who is born here agrees, lib, con, ndp, doesn't matter what political party they usually vote for, they want immigration to stop, and homes to be built. A lot of people always fail to mention other provinces outside of Ontario and bc. Cost of living isn't nearly as high in all the other provinces . If you are going to earn under 200k , DONT IMMIGRATE TO ONTARIO OR BC.

It should have been condemned and contained immediately. Canada, ha you mean India, in the last decade 100s of 1000s of Indians have flooded to Southern Ontario (which by all measures is Canada) to the point that sometimes one feels like they are stranger in a strange land. Of the 2.2 million who arrived last year approx 500,000 are students They are huge profit centre for landlords and colleges and universities. And let's not talk about healthcare!!!\n\nThe other huge issue is healthcare - forget about getting a family doctor these days it's a choice between MAID or going to the US to get life saving healthcare (paid out of pocket of course). Long term not much will change - discussing immigration is still verboten in Canada and while I expect the Conservatives to form the next majority government thier policies mirror those of the Liberals.\n\nBTW it's not a half million per year it's well over a million new comers per year!
