Wow! That was wild. Here in San Ysidro everything was calm and actually civil. People waited their turn. I live nearby so I saw it with my own eyes. People at las Americas outlet would pass by food to them and the officers gave them the food. I was an immigrant 35 years ago I am now a us citizens and although I love the USA, I will always remember the struggles I had to go through. The hunger, the injustice, the reject and the cultural assimilation, learning a new language, and work work work until I couldn’t no more. All those efforts paid off and I believe EVERYONE has a right to have a better life. I have family members in Canada and Europe who are also immigrants and also go through these struggles. If they don’t make it to the USA, I hope the Mexican government takes advantage of this immigration influx, after all, the USA is great because of us. It’s time other countries take advantage and advance as well ??

I gave up on working in Canada. With a marginal income tax rate of 53%, generating (self)employment income isn't worth it. So I have switched to only passive income streams. I have other highly educated friends who have vastly scaled back their active work activity in Canada, or who have moved to the United States, due to the immense taxes on employment income in Canada. Not only do Americans make more money, but there are many states with no state income tax, which also equates to much higher take home pay. My wife and I have already laid the groundwork for a move to Florida, with the purchase of a home in that state.

I don’t think the point you gave to Canada for education is fair. Sure a lot of Uber drivers are lawyers and doctors, but they did not study IN CANADA. They studied in their respective home countries before immigrating to Canada and so it should not reflect on how educated Canada’s population is. I don’t think that was a fair comparison. I also wouldn’t give points to Canada for healthcare, or I’d give an equal point to the US. A variation of this is happening in Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway,Germany,etc. They took in Muslim, African refugees and gave them housing, medical care and benefits. And my life turned upside down this Friday by illegal immigrants here in Louisiana. They ran a red light, smash my car, totaled it. While running from border patrol and customs. I counted eight people running out of the vehicle and not one gave two shits to check on me, even though I was injured. Seven of them got away the only one they caught was a 14 year old Honduran child that claimed amnesty. So vehicle which they stole, which had stolen license plate, and apparently was full of stolen tools all was seized. The owners will be lucky if they get anything back since it is being held as evidence. I was told by My Attorney chances are my insurance will not pay me in full for my vehicle. Also, I only have a few payments on my car left, and I’m forced to pay it even though now I have no vehicle to get to work, because all my equity is tied up in it, funny thing is I recognize this kid from one of the jobsites down the street. They literally beat me in a bid on. Mind you only buy $400 differences I’m having to pay taxes it’s a joke when you say these people take jobs and no one else wants thing is it’s not jobs no one else wants it’s jobs that have become jobs. No one wants because of the pay continues to fall prices continue to increase, everyone thinks he’s illegal immigrants make no money on these jobsites most of them have nicer vehicles and live in nicer places than the guys I know.
