My mom and dad came from Cuba when my dad wanted out he asked the Cuban government he didn’t sneak across the border like these idiots are doing and the Cuban government put him in a concentration camp for 3 years cutting sugar cane to work for his freedom then he got it and we flew to Spain where he worked his ass off for another 3 years to finally come to the states and when I grew up I gave thanks my joining the Marine Corps and defend this country as a thanks for letting us in and we been working our asses off ever since never once asking for public assistance or taking from this country we pay our taxes and do things the RIGHT WAY! I graduated high school , don’t have any felonies or misdemeanors. I have a degree for machine technology and I can’t work because I don’t have a work permit , and these people are coming and getting all these privileges I never got. This is causing bad to those who are already here and are trying to do everything according to the law and yet we have no support in getting atleast a work permit. I agree daca was unconstitutional which is why they’re trying to shut it down but trump was trying to make something happen for teens that were brought here at a young age. Unfortunately people are blind and selfish and only care about themselves, I get it that they live in poverty because so did we. And my beautiful mother suffered so much. But atleast wait until the US can do something about those who are already in weather it’s helping them or not. There’s so much problems happening right now in the United States such as mass shootings. Let the authorities, government officials , etc try to clean up the United States from how bad it’s getting before raiding the border and causing a burden and headache to those who are in office trying to come up with solutions to this madness.

The last time my landlord came to collect rent, I invited him to come up to my apartment to show him I was taking good care of the place (and to hopefully discourage him from renovicting me at some point in the future). He said he didn't have time, as he had to go collect rent from 11 or 12 of his other properties around the city. He also mentioned that he had never seen the inside of my apartment before (despite the fact that he owns it). He has only been in the country for a few years, but apparently he already owned a lot of land here before immigrating. He's a very nice guy, but I can't help but feel that there's something seriously wrong with this picture. We can't base our entire national economy on selling our land and resources to rich foreigners while we produce nothing of actual value.

Corporate America turns a blind eye to this because they want cheap labor. That’s why you’ll never see the immigration issue resolved until there’s full blown violence. The same thing is happening across the developed world. In a country like Canada, where the labor pool is coming from India, the social programs would fail if not for the taxes and fees collected from these migrant low wage earners. But it’s fuelling the housing crisis and other social problems. Complex business folks.

My family has a ranch near the border and it’s been in my family since before Texas was Texas and what is happening today on our border is something we’ve never in all of history seen before and it’s never been more dangerous than it is now.

I waited in Mexico for my residence for 3 years when I married my husband, he is Canadian, I never lived illegally in Canada... before, I used to come to work with a work permit and these people cry because their papers did not arrive for a year.., I I was separated from my family for 3 years and I never tried to cross illegally... what happens with these people, they want everything easy and they only abuse the Canadian system

ExSue we have a weak and wrong immigration policy. We shall never allow these people come in to US. All ilegal attempt must be rejected and turn all them back, including elder and child. In the meantime we need to accelerate and focus for those who are legally approved.

It never used to be as long as this in the UK, it is because it is congested now, when I came the UK, I came as a student and getting a permanent stay wasn’t as tough as now. You just come without obtaining visa as a visitor. Canada will become like the UK after sometime, for now they want it to be like the UK in terms of being a multicultural and multinational community. As for Scotland they are trying to encourage people to come and settle there.

It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.
