Our healthcare system is collapsing. One step to fixing it is to get rid of those who should never have been here in the first place. That means we need to deport 100% of all immigrants from India. There has always been a racist element in Canada, even if it is less than most Western countries. The recent reduction on visas for Indians is directed against foreigners in general, not Indians. It is misguided because immigration is not the cause of inflation, unemployment or housing costs. In fact, the new immigration policy will make those problems more severe.

No, this country doesn't want immigrants

When so many immigrants enter a country that its infrastructure can not handle the increased population, people start to be anti-immigration. People who are not the majority race and culture, are easy targets for people who are frightened by the rise of homelessness and crime, and loss of employment. In Canada, even in small rural towns, long established residents see that their children can not find work, or housing, while obvious immigrants are everywhere as waitresses, cashiers, and other unskilled jobs which their children used to do when starting out. On top of that, many Canadians can not find a family doctor, and our healthcare system is strained to the breaking point. People are frightened, and want the government to tighten immigration policies. I think that our government did not consider all the factors when it opened the door so wide for immigration. Now it has to take a step back, and ensure that the infrastructure is in place before immigrants arrive in Canada, not be forever trying to fix the problems after they have caused havoc!

Ummmm - this is just a wild guess, but maybe there are too many immigrants? Everybody wants to live in the west. Why don't they fix their own countries?

I'm not an Indian but I'm a immigrant in Canada and yes it's true everything that you say but I just want to give one respectful advice to my friend from India. Please use deodorant and at least once a day take a shower because in the bus or at work is very hard for us from other countries and I know is not your fault but we all have to adapt in a country we arrive hope no one gets offended by this but remember that we share the air and we cannot avoid smelling other people. We use to have the best customer service, now you talk to this agent who does not understand you and vice-versa. On top of all, they yell at the customer. Even canada, with a relatively strict immigration policy, is having problems. Switzerland, with our t\nvery strict immigration policy, is having problems. Both of these countries love immigrants. It's just that you can't have completely unvetted immigrants coming in. I wish I could invite all the refugees of the world to live in my garden. But they just wouldn't fit. And before anyone calls me a racist or a hater, I personally raise money for refugees at the kakuma refugee camp in kenya. There is a way to help people where they are.

70% student visas are issued to indians in Canada. This is wrong at any level and need to change at any cost. Just after reading comments from some Germans here, it really feels like that racism, chauvinism and zero-sum thinking are just a part of their mentality. As a white Brazilian, I would say my experience was quite good (I've returned home less than 1 month ago). \n\nApart of some obvious jokes about the 7-1, I've never faced anyone who made me feel unwelcome or undesired, quite the opposite in many situations. Being of German descent certainly made things better. Other white Brazilians I've met told me they had similar experiences.\n\nUnfortunately, immigrants from other Global South countries and non-white Brazilians probably have very different experiences, for the worse. I've heard many unpleasant comments from my German friends and colleagues regarding turks, Arabs, africans and other immigrants from the South of the world. It's certainly a problem for many skilled workers who are not white and could contribute for the country, but they can't thanks to racism.\n\nIn my view, apart of racism, another great problem in Germany when it comes to foreign skilled workers is the lack of digitalization in the country and the bad Internet. Many jobs require good internet connection and digitalization, which are not always provided by the Germans , unlike virtually all the other European countries including much poorer ones. \n\nHaving said that, Germany has many good-hearted, kind and welcoming people (except the racists, of course), and a fantastic culture.

Before taking people in, you need both infrastructure and proper plan on what to deal with theses sudden increase of population. Not only for the immigrants but also the current citizens in the country.

So there's been an increase on Indian vs Indian crime. The reason being, that the Indian people who came here in the 1900s are established and for so long, hoodlums/Indian government couldn't access them and their wealth or opinions about India.
