Canada is for those who come here when young and grow old here.\n\nI am one of those.\n\nWhen I first came here I didn’t like it but as time passed I started admiring all that was different and better from India.\n\nParticularly now, living here and watching, from afar, what is happening in India, I am grateful I am here.\n\nHow do ordinary folks in India handle the every day hassle of traffic, public transit, cost of living, water shortages, cuts in electricity supply, racial inequalities etc. etc.\n\nThe major problem of parents coming over here is that they are dependent on their children for everything (if you are living in the suburbs particularly) be it companionship, transportation, finances (with the exchange rate for Indian rupees, you will start feeling the pinch of it soon) etc.\n\nIf you are here for a short period, bond with your kids, grand-kids, make the most of it and head back home, is my humble advice to parents visiting.

I’d prefer to bring them in. If we don’t have enough housing as it is, look, a bunch of able bodied people just waiting at the border, perhaps these same folks can be employed as builders.

On a brighter note, every recession comes with an equal chance in the fin-mrkt if you're early informed and equipped, I've read folks amass up to 7 figures  during these times, and even pull it off easily in a favorable economy. I grew up in South Africa. I didn't even know I lived under apartheid, that's how great my life was. I've never experienced racism in America, at ALL. \nI'm more scared of black women in the workforce. Imagine being a black indigenous people here for over 400+ years they don't acknowledge us as indigenous and being black just as bad as the US but they're very silent about it. This is all over Canada sadly. Even in Toronto Ontario there's a lot of discrimination as well even in Nova Scotia where a lot of black indigenous people reside... Venezuela is an extreme socialist problem. They control all prices and hijack the concept of healthy business functions. This causes essential goods like water, food, and toilet paper, even fruits, are totally barren from stores. Socialism there is a nightmare and no one is living life their with decency. Read about it before you judge these people. Try to visit these countries or learn from someone who came from there before you form a solid opinion of politics folks They don’t have the ability to use much of their “freedom” to “fix” things against a rigged system already (some commenters say they need to go back and fix their countries- lots of issues with this). Read up on how South American governments make it almost impossible for their own people to make decent money. Americans are very privileged and that is an understatement. The problem is with these terrible governments and even law enforcement who often get bribed by criminals and many dirty cops in some countries down there. My husband is from South America, and we know Cubans, Brazilians, and Venezuelans who beg America to stay capitalist. That’s why America needs to stay American, and refrain from trying to be socialist.
