Immigrants want to move here because it is very easy to get PR and then passport otherwise Immigrants would move to Australia or US. Most of the Immigrants who come here are for East Asia and Africa and they can't stand cold but they don't have options to go and settle in US and Australia. So Canada is banana Republic under liberal and they come and get the citizenship and then go and work in US and the ones who are villagers and not professional stay here because they can't move. Canada passport is not third world passport and eventhough I moved from third world country don't like to stay here and looking my options.

Sadly NZ and Australia have the same issues - so many immigrants over the last 20 years - no new hospitals, schools or infrestructure, our population has grown by 1 million in 15 years - NZers living on the streets because housing has been pushed to some of the highest prices in the world, and immigrants taking low-skill and service-worker jobs. Predominantly from India and China!

It is fairly simple. If you want to compete with the US and Australia for skilled immigrants, switch to the default language of the world. Else, compete with dying economies like France and Japan.\nStop treating top talents like asylum seekers.

What's interesting: I am a German thinking about moving to Canada, because I believe Germany is a mess. We gave home to more than 1,000,000 refugees since 2015 and still more to come. if any country allows large number of indians to live in their country than that country will fall for sure. I am from Pakistan and all my friends and relatives moved to UK, US, Australia and Canada. When I say all I mean 18 out of 20 left Pakistan and they don't want to come back to Pakistan ever because who doesn't want a better lifestyle for themselves and for their future generations but my father advised me never to leave your country because no matter what other countries will never accept you as their own citizens. Instead of leaving your country try to make it better. \n\nToday I see exactly that happening throughout the world. They want their countries back and you see their hearts filled with hatred against these immigrants. Sooner or later these immigrants will have to sell everything and come back to their countries. What a wise man my father was!

40 to 50 hours a week? I work that in Australia as an Australian. Indian universities aren't necessarily recognised overseas. Even then I've worked with many as engineers and got uber rides from many just as an example. Different cultural system. This is just my personal experience. \n\nYou have to remember that India has been studied as on of the most intolerant countries in the world. I've never got that impression from the majority of other nationalities I've worked with. Even had and engineer quit on his first ay because he couldn't accept another Indian as his superior. ?‍♂️ why?\n\nIm just saying. You can look up the worldwide studies that rank India so high for intolerance easily. These are large surveys. \n\nEnd of the day when you have large immigration spikes without infrastructure it is doomed and you will get a lot of misplaced hatred towards immigrants as low to middle class locals rents/ house prices explode. Not to mention the low skilled jobs that immigrants will do cheaper. \n\nImmigration is a cheap way for developed countries to increase GDP. Without planning and proper direction it will always fail on the whole. \n\nIm happy to debate my opinion with anyone. We all need a better approach.

Why can't the Europe, USA, Canada and Australia just accept all of Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Latin America and the Middle East? I mean there is enough space to accommodate if you tried to do so. Even if China wanted to immigrate also to these countries I think there is still a lot of space. So just welcome the opportunity and growth that this huge influx of immigrants will provide.

Canada, like Australia and etc., faces a fundamental issue that makes it reliant on—or even more severely, dependent on—immigration. Of course discussing this fundamental issue is inappropriate for Canadians. The housing crisis is not caused by immigrants. While you can criticize immigration policies, they are merely the straw that broke the camel's back. It's similar to inflation; like, even if it remains at 2% per year, we will still experience the peaks and troughs of business cycles, just less intensely. Sure you can have a public housing program, where does that money come from? More and more tax money. Having to work harder to only end up with paying more taxes for those who either did not have the opporunities or didn't work as hard (who cares what the actual reasons are), just feels like a ripoff.

We have exactly the same thing happening here in Australia, and the World Bank remittance figures for last financial year have just been released. Net CASH OUT OF AUSTRALIA FROM INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WAS A RECORD $10.6 BILLION OUT OF THE COUNTRY. From 736,000 international students currently here. They pro ide absolutely no benefit to the country except for the wealthy land owners and politicians working hand in hand with multinationals all to reduce wage growth and remove the middle class.
