In the end it all depends on both the kids AND the parents. If they genuinely bring the parents over for the parents own sake its WONDERFUL, BUT....the truth is, that the cost of living in these countries is so high AND, the kids want to attain and maintain a certain standard of living, that BOTH husband and wife NEEDS to go out to work..and what happens is that they end up USING the parents only for babysitting, cooking cleaning etc.... AND for their PENSIONS.... But they're given no respect. So its up to the parents also. BCZZ they're SO vital to the survival of the family unit...they have that power to stand up for themselves and get the respect they deserve. But the thing is, indian parents are martyrs.....they will suffer AND complain...but they will never abandon their kids and let them suffer....so that cycle of misery and disrespect never breaks.... and the situation never changes. The best thing is for the parents to get that pension and go back home every six mths, and at least enjoy some of their life. Sad but true.???

I found a great little place to live in south east Asia during a total of six months stay there. \n Canada is not the free and family friendly country that I grew up in where a family could have a home and enjoy life on a single average income. \n Flying out again in 2024. 1000% agree that someone is speaking out and exposing this! I considered moving to Canada to enjoy life but after researching and seeing how Canada has become VERY totalitarian and insanely expensive I crossed it off my list.

I’m Canadian and I do love my country, but moved to the US in 2018 and have never looked back. I enjoy higher wages, cheaper cost of living, better weather, and overall just happier and less stressed. I hope things do change for my people who still live there, but I will never move back

Im Canadian and I think the US is awesome. I have a handful of friends that moved south and they all love it there. Long ago my grandparents wintered in Florida and they LOVED it. Sure you have more crime but you have a hell of a lot more people so that's a wash in my book. We've visited and always enjoyed your country and people. Canada has changed drastically over the last decade, and not for the better. I really don't see a big difference. My 2 cents

My grandparents and aunt are Canadian. Canada made the same mistake we did in the US. Yes life was good but the wealth was a delicate balance. Once we opened the doors to the world, we found that ecosystem more delicate than we knew, which makes the Western world even more of a cultural miracle than we realized, given the degree of freedom we enjoy. No wonder the not-west thought that our societies were disasters in the making and not capable of coherent opinion or defense.

Its better to be a visitor in Canada to enjoy it more.

Might this be the case of reverse gentrification which happens in US, Europe and people are just not enjoying it. I see in Berlin the original berliners now have to move 2 hours away and higher income earners have taken all the central housing. I would not want to live in those cold winters anyway! I am enjoying the beautiful winter climate near Cabo. $500 for a 1 bedroom.
