Honestly I think the real problem is a smooth path to residency/citizenship. \nIllegal immigrants want to do it right but the system sucks and takes way too long. I’m talking more than 5, 10, 15 years. \nPeople act like you can get it done like going to your local Starbucks. Illegal immigrants pay taxes just like everyone else and don’t receive a lot of benefits.

You can end illegal immigration tomorrow. Order all employers to get all illegals a visa or lay them off and hire a US citizen and give them 45 days to do that. If the employer does not do it heavily fine them. Employers who hire them are criminals.

It's time to get LEGAL AND PAY TAXES ALSO OR LEAVE. They are GIVING billions of taxpayers dollars to illegals who come here and strain our systems while AMERICANS ARE LOSING OUT. We need our manufacturing back in our own countries. And our own farmers can handle our food. Our farmers are under fire. They need our support. And we have always had WORK VISAS for seasonal workers for AG. That doesn't mean they can come here illegally and DRAIN OUR RESOURCES . This isn't even remotely logical. You cannot have a successful economy or a secure safe country WITHOUT LAWS to govern immigration.

Immigrants, both documented and undocumented, commit crimes at a lower rate than natural-born US citizens. That is a statistically proven fact, and it makes sense considering that if we speed, we could get a ticket. If they speed, they might get deported. That's a fine to pay versus a potential death sentence... most people who immigrate here are trying to escape the very things they get accused of doing. Look, I'm not saying that people coming in illegally is a good thing, that every one of them has good intentions, or that border security is acceptable as it is. I just wish we put this much attention on those at the top of the income chain committing white-collar crime instead of something like this and fix the immigration situation without policies that will flip our already jacked up economy upside down for the sake of votes.

I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. Then we stood outside in the -20 degrees c freezing cold in a long lineup of good people trying to get their citizenships like my wife, all legally obeying the laws of Canada. They put her lonely dying body in the hallway where she was robbed of her cell phones, money, food and respect. Due to migrants and illegal immigrants overloading the beds and rooms pouring in from other countries. they drained our existing medical system resources and much more. Drug addicts who overdosed on Fentanyl they take first and push all other patients aside. Doctors take them first before helping a dying mother, father, brother or sister, infant and children pushed aside to save a drug addicts life first. I have been told many times this is also do to them taking care of the pouring in migrants and illegal immigrants using it all up. Where is love and justice? I am from Europe. You won't find a single country in EU who will not deport immigrants that do not have legal documents. If they find them they will throw them out of EU and those persons will get 5 years ban for apply legally. Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Legal immigrants have earned that privilege. Genuine refugees deserve a fair chance at getting that privilege too. Illegal immigrants switching between countries pretending to be refugees don't qualify. These are the same people who went to the US illegally in the first place, then hope to come to Canada illegally when it's bad in the US, and then will return to the US illegally when things will get better there.

Those that are working and contributing to society and taxes should get references from employers. Hopefully they can fall in line right after those who have legal immigration in process. It’s sad. The 1980's use to have Immigration sweeps through neighborhoods and Americans could call Immigration to report locations illegals were dwelling and working at. they aren't difficult to get out if they're only choice is to pay a consequence for entering illegally or leave on their own so it doesn't cost the Tax payer.

i dropped a long time canadian female at the ottawa Carling ave womens shelter to get away from an abusive husband...to find out she is dealing with violent fighting migrants and immigrants that have filled the place and taken resources from our own homeless people...and all getting welfare no questions asked....and welfare is less than 500 and odsp is 1100 and you have even more of our own people not able to find rooms or apartments and now more people living in the bushes all along the river from billings to downtown near the bike paths...and the local news is saying they are about to bring 2 big tents and bring in migrants to these 2 new centres they are about to pop up making us the new NEW YORK!
