Many of my friends who studied Masters here in Germany are struggling to find a job and yet they say we need skilled workers. Where are the jobs.\nFor language issue why can't you work with companies and give conditional offer to employees that in 2-3 years you have to be fluent in German and give them an opportunity to learn the language and integrate.\nBut did we see this no and yet they say we want workers..Yes you will get people obviously the world is big but not the quality one and in some time your situation will become like of France and UK.\n\nAnd though I have finished my Master and working in a company for very less salary still i regret my decision to come here leaving my well paid job in my home country was the worst mistake. \nBut now i have to find a way out from here

Yes there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed. However, its immature to blame every problem onto immigration. Most of us dont know enough about how things really works. Its not like if we stop immigration then all these problems would be fixed, in fact i think we need this population growth due to low birth rates and lack of labor etc. In my personal experience i see in real life where immigrants are working and contributing in all kinds of fields, such as construction, health care and elderly care … instead of pointing fingers, first educated ourselves on this topic, and then think about how we can make this work, i think that would be more beneficial for everyone.

Canada can fix this with real estate investors help. The problem is supply and demand. If there are more rental units and homes to buy, renters win. Investors like me want to see renters win. People are supposed to rent save up money and then buy their own homes.

All the concerns and problems addressed in the video are very legit and true. The root of them is that german government just simply don't care how immigrants feel and they don't appreciate how diversity could benefit the country. As an American watching this I see many parallels. Lack of affordable housing, taxation … getting started in life after university is a shock. Especially if you aren’t used to the struggle of day to day living. There is global competition for skilled labor so expect it to be challenging. \n\nAs an aside the host seems to speak perfect American. Sorry England! ?. It seems more common now that Germans don’t necessarily have an English accent like they used to. Just an observation I find interesting.

I don't find ample attempts by the German government to fill the shortage! India itself has the capacity to fill up the void. But, Germany does not allow freshers or people with 2-3 years experience. Then how is it going to work? I am a Data Scientist, I have passport, I want to learn German language to go there but I do not have that much experience. I do not see the German government bring any opportunity for proactive people like me to go & work there & integrate with the society. Rather, they welcome illegal immigrants !

It's really sad to see this ..these kids don't come from great financial backgrounds ..and looting them for 20 to 25 lakhs is like a crime. It's like more educated way to loot someone. I went on an Office visit to Toronto back in 2013 when basement costed around 700 to 800 CAD, the student's situation wasn't that grave. One could see students, but not many. I find it hard to believe that these migrants are having an easier time getting into Canada than the US. I've been to Canada 6 times as an American tourist and except for my recent trip up there to see the eclipse, the officers always asked at least 4 questions about my trip and plans like where I'm staying and one time how much money I had. One time when I went they did that 'secondary inspection' where they look through my luggage and enquire about items (in my case several electronics which most people travel with). These people who are going to Canada probably have enough money for a typical weeklong trip and probably have hotel reservations, etc. Other things immigration officers ask often is what kind of work you do and when you are due to report back to work, as well as who you live with. They want to be sure you have ties back home.

What i don't understand is how leaders of a country are unable to predict this outcome.\nAnyone whit some level of consequential thinking can see this from a mile away.\nKind of obvious that you can't let more people in than you can provide housing and job opportunity to.\nDoes not take a genius to figure that out.\nOr better yet, try and stop the water flow from your shower without turning the knobs and watch what happens to the water.\nIt goes all over the place uncontrollably.\nThat visual is pretty much exactly how the economic and welfare status looks like for a country who let too much immigration slip through in too short amount of time.

I was doing some historical research on the Ark of the Covenant....revealed some evidence that the 'Sephardic Jewish' folks have been hiding for thousands of years....and part of this involves the location of the Ark of the Covenant and the REAL exodus lands of the Ashkenazi Jews. I am an immigrant and I love this country. It’s a privilege to be here and not a right. Problem is people don’t want to integrate and accept Canadian values. On top government does not grow infrastructure in with population boom and honestly it shouldn’t be this much at all. It’s hurtful to see it be in decline like this. I remember celebrating Canada Day and being proud, now it’s all lost.

It is not the immigration policy problem.. It is the quality of people who are being considered for immigration (based only money now a days unlike in the past). In the 70s & 80s it is Ph.Ds, Highly technically qualified people around the world who were given Immigrant visas/citizenship... But these days, all junkies from war torn nations, third world criminals and their children (with money) getting into Canadian universities. Earlier, Universities used to conduct exams at off shore centres and select candidates but now a days it looks like Universities are bankrupt and ready to take in anybody with money thanks to agents of these education institutes( These agents make even a Donkey with money Qualify for university admission !) Those who get into these universities are more interested in all other things except Studies....So Quality immigration is more important than Quantity imigratikn. Hope Canadian Govt will take a critical look into this aspect. We xan not see developed cojntries having this anarchy on the streets on a daily basis.

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. 35 years ago, obtaining a Canadian visa required substantial financial resources, which applicants had to bring to invest in Canada, along with undergoing a thorough background and health check. It wasn't easy to become a Canadian citizen, so only a select few managed to achieve it.  Today, it feels like the standards have dropped significantly—allowing entry without financial requirements or rigorous screenings. This shift has led to increased crime rates, littering, and even the deterioration of our once-pristine beaches. It's disheartening to see Canada moving in this direction, allowing individuals who may not contribute positively to the country. They primarily come for the free healthcare and other benefits.

Rampant uncontrolled immigration (mostly from India) has directly affected housing, inflation and healthcare in Canada making life more difficult for Canadians, if you cannot see that and make the correlation by this point, you should really not be voting, as you’re likely one of the people contributing to the problem the Canadian economy currently finds itself in \n\nsupply and demand is a basic concept, one which most liberal voters and left leaning media stations really don’t understand

No wonder people do not want to rent out nowadays with disgusting rogue tenants like these. The system is broken. And the govt does not give a damn to fix it. The govt is equally responsible along with these rogue tenants for this ugly mess, all the govt wants is to tax vacant condo home owners for their own policy blunders and lethargic system. Who in the right mind would want to rent out after seeing this. My sympathies go out to these condo home owners for the plight they are in who are running from pillar to post to get their dues and to get these rogue tenants evicted.

It's genuinely exhausting to watch even so-called progressive outlets like the guardian foment fear and anger against migrants and refugees rather than someone, anyone, possibly questioning whether the incentives for property developers and landlords might, in-fact, be a potential factor in the ongoing housing crisis. But sure, it must be immigration to blame for the exact same housing crisis happening across Canada, Australia, the US, the UK and half of Europe, must be just that one simple factor and definitely not any other systemic or economic factors which might underlie how housing, governance, and migration are linked. \n\nBecause all of those countries certainly have one thing in common, and you're all correct, they all have identical immigration policies, right? Right? Couldn't be the hyper-commodification of housing and development rights stoked under the neo-liberal systems of governance which ACTUALLY forms a shared commonality between these countries. For over a decade now any attempt to criticize legitimate issues with immigration got you branded a racist by the establishment. Outlets like the Guardian have shilled for big corporations who only used immigration as a source of cheap labour. Now that we’re seeing the results in the form of skyrocketing rent and exhausted welfare services, they pretend not to know why people are upset.

I got laid off 5 weeks ago ( no renewal of contract).. after 7 years working for that NFP.. I applied for snap and unemployment… while applying for jobs( social worker field)… first, they ask for so many documents… including my bank account….( again I was laid off .. not fired nor left my job, nor finding reasons not to work all those years ), department of labor had a mandated zoom meeting to discuss what I needed to do 4 weeks after I was laid off( like i don’t know)… I ve been working for years and paying taxes… a lot of them in NYC, I was also told that I have to show what I am doing to search for work and eventually should take a job( even if the salary is low..ridiculous)… I was also informed that I may get a call from investigator from DOL..they may call individuals receiving unemployment benefits($441 a week after taxes?)… to verified that I was searching and applying for jobs( even though I enter my activities related to work weekly on their website…..)….. meanwhile… people with 0 legal documentation are entering the US and living here, free snap, free housing, free health insurance!!!! Lala land!!!! Can’t wait for this non sense to stop!!! Every corner of NY , you see families begging for money. Food…I feel bad as a human being, but refuse to help or I ll be joining them too… welfare system needs to change too! The politics NEED to change!!!All the best !

Like others have said here, most Canadians are not anti-immigration. Most Canadians grew up proud that we live in such a cosmopolitan country. What people are against is the immigration policies of the current Trudeau government which has led to a degradation in public services and contributed to massively inflated real estate values due to the simple rule of supply and demand. There has been a noticeable and real decline in the quality of life for the average Canadian over the past decade. It is genuinely confounding how anyone can continue to support this government. We are seeing our country go down the drain before our eyes.

If Canadians think new govt will solve the problem. They are dead wrong. This is the vicious cycle they can not get out. Their own structure can not support pensions and salaries. They need to bring in new immigrants otherwise the system cycle will collapse. As far as housing is concern. Does Canada have shortage of land ? Its due to policies that new housing is not coming up thus driving prices through the roof. No govt will gonna change that because corporate interests are involved and not house owners wanted their prices to go down. Which happened to be biggest voting block. Thus ordinary young Canadians are feeling the music and they see new students as the enemy. In fact it is the students who go through horrible exploitation ordinary Canadians cannot imagine. A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. There’re people who came here to study & love to contribute their knowledge & skills to the world. Thank you.

No matter where you live in Canada we are bombarded with American News so we can see all the bad things that happen in the US. Canadian news is designed to be more of an informative format whereas American News is much more sensationalized so we don't always get to see through the crap! I would agree that much of the USA is quite safe but the reality is that anyone wanting to move from Canada to the USA is more likely to find their best opportunities in larger urban centers where all these concerns become far more real.
